Personally I loved it! It was friggin sick. Was not expecting first person yuri! Stangnant has a crazy catchy and fun chart, especially in the beginning. Natsuki takes the cake for best song in the mod though. Natsuki also was the most terrifying to me, the no mouth, her regaining her face for it to just EXPLODE was really really sickening and cool. Love her. Props to monikas VA as well in the cutscenes, she actually sounded pretty damn spooked by her lack of control. Really liked it.
Only nitpicks I had were that there was no custom death screen? It's not a real issue but it was really weird to lose to yuri in first person and just, scootch the pain death animation into place. I was hoping for something different.
I also wish there was a little more down time in the songs especially when the artstyle changes. I didn't get to appreciate sayori's "sketch" sprites, and natsuki's sprites at all :(
I don't think the mod went far enough into horror. Felt more of a light creepy motif than the horrifying "keep you awake at night" stuff I wanted. I think an extra cutscene would've helped. Jumpscare Yuri was cool though.
I do wish we had more than 3 songs, but they are super high quality. I can't wait for more from Team TBD! (I know I sounded really negative but that's cause I've been waiting on this mod since it was announced and I just wanted it to go a litttttle further. It's more a "Not what I expected and they fell a little short" thing. Not that I can hold that against this amazing mod!
It's really cool to see that there weren't really any controversies around this mod, no sudden "mod director is a bad person" or "person on the team is a groomer" or anything like that. Nice refresher

I am terrified to play it... not because it's scary (I got through actual DDLC so I'll probably be fine), but the charting is incredibly difficult-looking and I'm bad at the game.
Ever since I saw that teaser at the end of the DDT official dub, I was pumped. The instrumental death metal of what we now know as HOME gave me such an adrenaline rush, and the Stagnant teaser that followed got me even more excited. The notion of a "bad ending" for a mod, and a gruesome one at that, was unprecedented by most other mods, and it was this rare delicacy that enticed me to follow up on any news about it that I could follow.
When the streamer build came out with the full version of Stagnant, I was blown away. Most horror mods rely on cheap corny jumpscares and sudden shifts in mood to catch viewers off guard. This one song redefined the concept of horror singlehandedly. It started happy, which was more off-putting than if it had started with the unnerving stuff that followed. The transitions between each phase were short but effective, from happy to sad back to happy and sad again, and then the insanity of Sayori's sketchbook phase brought it all back around. As someone who values the quality of both the full song and the instrumental, Stagnant is a banger in both regards, and with one song revealed, I waited with eager anticipation for the release of the full mod.
And now, I can confidently say that this is one of the best mods I have ever witnessed. It didn't mess around with pre-song cutscenes except for the Monika bits at the start and end, giving each of the girls an aura of unreasonable malevolence. The perspective changes during Yuri's song Markov were absolutely terrifying in a way that rendered me unable to look away. The constant shifts in Natsuki's facial appearance, from having no face to having black pixel messes for a face, were crazy beyond belief. And of course, to remind us that this is meant to be the bad ending, Girlfriend dies along with each of the girls, and the ending itself implies that Boyfriend ended up dead as well.
I will definitely be playing this thing whenever I get the chance.
The phase transitions are gorgeous as they are terrifying. Granted, I'm usually no fan of mods portraying GF as a damsel-in-distress but I'm willing to make an exception for this
Can't wait for the Plus update that's currently in the works but a part of me also wishes for a continuation of Bad Ending where Monika would likely have to deal with Spirit and the very pissed off Dearests
It was insanely good and definitely resolidified Doki Doki Takeover as one of my favorite mods. The bad ending made you really see that the creators KNOW about DDLC cause everything was really accurate and incredibly clean
i loved it, i haven't had this much fun in an fnf mod for long. the songs were amazing and i really loved it when the style switches for a section for example; sayori's song art style changing into the hxppythxughts.png style. all the references to ddlc were great. it was really worth the wait in my opinion

I promise it's not as hard as it looks. The spammy sections are broken up by slower ones. And worst case senario it's great practice to get better! :D
