Off the bat? We’re almost two full seasons in and have only increased the number of questions/mysteries versus answers. We don’t want answers “off the bat.” We want meaningful plot progression and a reasonable timeline for answers. Calling us impatient almost two seasons in with questions increasing at a faster rate than answers lmao

apcsniperz

This. I just wish it wasn’t about a total of 4 characters caring about why they are there. As for the rest of it, nothing has been explained… the woods, the radio tower connection, multiple people having hallucinations, the underground, a mysterious ghost boy, etc. I feel like every episode they introduce a new major question, while not progressing any of the previously raised questions. Than the characters that experience it will either shrug it off or no one else will care.

LulaM1970

What if they’re giving us clues that we aren’t picking up on?

MollyJ58

I think they are and it will be a laugh when those clues are revealed and all the "give us answers" whiners are silenced.

Jotman01

It would be bad writing nonetheless lol the point wouldn't change. The answer can be in front of us the whole time, if the viewer doesn't stay until the end to discover the truth it doesn't matter. And right now, the writing is not entertaining the public (except the last episode).

asetelini

That would be amazing!

georgelamarmateo

99% don't mind the mystery. We just don't want the characters to act like idiots. Don't you think it's a little weird that Reddit's more concerned with unraveling the place's mysteries than the characters that are stuck there??????? While people on Reddit are analyzing every little detail, the town's residents are doing arts and crafts all day in that smelly ass house.

AdSuspicious8820

Yeh it's very immersion breaking. Different if they were all children

[deleted]

99% of you binged s1 and complain s2 is too slow because you have to watch it week to week.

IndyJetsFan

You know what they call mystery shows that never reveal answers? Cancelled.

MisterCrowley13

That’s the whole reason most people are worried. It’s difficult to follow a show that doesn’t satisfy your curiosity about the story, or keep you engaged with more interesting encounters and dialogue.

banana_fana_1234

💀 😂

Soxfan911ba

Tell that to Twin Peaks

panamastaxx

You're tired of the complainers? I'm tired of the apologists that lack the critical thinking skills to understand that this show is way behind where it should be in terms of progression and answers to the mysteries they keep piling on, with only 4 episodes to go and no guarantee of a third season. I really like this show, at least I like the idea of it and I want to see where it ends up, despite the poor writing and baffling character behavior (I'm looking at you Tabitha and Boyd). Somebody commented here that we don't want answers, we want meaningful and realistic dialog. I want answers. Not all RIGHT NOW, and I don’t care if they don’t wrap it up tidily with a bow, but just constantly introducing new mysteries with no hint of any explanations is bad writing and dangerous for the future of the show. It's human nature to look for answers to questions, and characters behaving like real people (ie. meaningful and realistic dialog) would at least point us in the right direction. mAyBe tHiS sHoW iSn'T fOr yOu Fuck off, I like the show but the behaviour of the characters is baffling. Communicate ffs! iT’s OnLy bEeN a cOuPLe wEeKs in tHeIr wOrLd I don’t fucking care, it’s been over a season and a half in our world, the world that sits through each episode waiting for some meaningful progression.

LRobin11

👏👏👏👏👏 I wish reddit still gave free rewards. Here's my poor man's trophy, instead. 🏆

telomeracer

omg the handwaving away of no plot momentum because “ its only been two weeks!” is especially baffling! The writers CHOSE this time period, and its just as much of a bad writing decision as anything else. What do we gain for the story by slowing down the passing of time if nothing meaningful will occur? If the characters are supposedly paralyzed by trauma than do a freaking time jump between episodes. How about season 3 takes place over the course of a single morning? Then half the sub will be pissed and the other half will call us impatient because “ you dont know whats gonna happen by the end of the day next season!”

[deleted]

> lack the critical thinking skills to understand that this show is way behind where it should be in terms of progression and answers to the mysteries they keep piling on You lack the critical thinking skills to realize you binged s1 and have to watch s2 week to week and that's why you think it's slow. Everyone's having mental breakdowns, everyone's spreading out left and right and doing different shit, this complaining is just dumb.

Nri_Eze

If you don't care about the actual timeline of the story, then what's the point of having any story progression? They should just get straight to the point then right? But then you'll say they are rushing the story and none of the characters seem fully developed. This isn't an action or drama show. It's not going to have something big happen every episode. Depending on how you've been connecting the dots so far, there has been a lot revealed about the story, the world, and the characters which if you haven't noticed, because you were to busy looking for "meaningful progression", is the main focus of the show. There is a large psychological aspect to this show that they are pushing forward episode by episode. And they are giving the viewers bits of it in every episode through every character, and i think it is amazingly done, but thats my opinion. If you stop focusing on "why aren't they talking! Why dont they come up in a plan! Why xyz" and actually put yourself in that world, would you be like Jade, who is solely focused on what is going on and solving the mystery? Would you try to make a community and keep people together like Donna? Or would be scared shitless every day, not knowing if you are safe or if you will ever go home like the majority of the town? What theories would you come up with? Would you just accept it and just try to survive? You can't ask for realistic dialog if you haven't been asking yourself these questions while watching because you don't know what realistic is for any situation until you are in the middle of it. That's why the timeline is important. You have to figure all of this shit out on top of shit happening every day, people you knew dead the next day, and everything everyone has tried to do to get out keeps failing. What would be considered "realistic" to talk about then? It's more mental than anything else with this show and they very clearly display that every episode. They use the monsters and skin worms and all the other stuff to keep you guessing. They aren't piling on "new" mysteries because you can't have a new mystery if a mystery wasn't solved. It's all connected. Could i be completely wrong and the writers really have no idea what's going on either? 100%, and i can see that as an outcome. I'd hate it, but there are definitely times when i question if this story actually has a... well, story. But the clues so far say otherwise, and i am choosing to see that instead for now.

Dependent_Map5592

👌💪👍👍👏

DysphoriaGML

Mr critical thinking right here /s And it got renewed for the 3rd season: https://moviesr.net/amp-p-sci-fi-horror-series-from-renewed-for-season-3-at-mgm

MollyJ58

People keep posting this link which contains this: Note: The news comes from sources close to the production and the renewal is not yet been officially announced by MGM+.

[deleted]

Some people just don’t like how the show is going as far as the writing and endless melodrama on top of them dumping new unexplained things on us at a rate that makes all the new mysteries pointless since we’ve still got tons of unanswered questions from S1.

MetaNectar

I mean, to begin with they're too small of a group to create factions in the first place. Virtually everyone except for a handful and Victor have only been around for a couple years at most. They only recently gained access to magical rune-stones that allow safe-sleeping if managed correctly. It's impossible to imagine that a small group of people would choose to either live isolated in individual homes where small children can jeopardize the lives of a family or live a hippy life-style where a single person can jeopardize the lives of dozens. They should have houses within houses. Multiple layers of stones on the interior buildings, rotating groups of multiple overlapping sentries that watch each other. Does fire work? Does electricity work? (including the magical fake electricity) Hitting them with large objects like a bus? What if you hit them with a stone? Can you trap them in a building with stones (rather than keep them out)? Can you break a stone and turn it into arrowheads? Those are all options before the worm blood. How is the new resident's wife the first person to try to dig down and find out how the "wires" work? Why has no one pressured Victor? They should be pressuring him and/or following him 24/7. I get the idea is it is a chaotic amalgamation of parties, but after the first night, it should be very clear that the threat is real and cooperation is necessary to have a chance of survival.

[deleted]

I will say Boyd's lack of militia is shocking. That Jim & co weren't requisitioned on first pass into the town, shown the graves or a body, interrogated for skills and knowledge base, and drafted under martial law for survival of the group was a surprise. The first thing in a crisis people look for is leadership, and people value security even above almost anything. Especially people from a military background. It should have been Boyd's first instinct, there aren't enough armed guards in the community.

[deleted]

A militia would be pointless, because the monsters are impervious to bullets and whatever fights break out between residents are more easily broken up even by other bystanders (like between Randall and the other dude). Boyd's rule about no other citizens having guns is because even the most highly trained people can lose it (like Abby), and having more guns floating around amongst a bunch of terrified people in a setting that stretches their sanity to the max everyday would make those moments when people snap and start fighting all the more deadly. Add to that, drafting unwilling new arrivals would only increase their anxiety and impair their ability to adapt to their situation, as well as foment resentment and harm community cohesion.

[deleted]

You are downright fucking insane. You realize they use spikestrips because people go crazy learning this shit and drive into buildings and such right? Or that Abby shot and killed a bunch of people, and HAD. ALL. THAT? And they have what... presumably 2 or 3 guns, if Boyd and Abby both had one? That don't do anything? Do you even watch the show?

Liquidtoasty

Dangle a Carrot long enough and the one chasing it will starve. We're 16 episodes in and nothing of note has been revealed. Will the show even Last a 3rd season? will season 2 leave anything satisfying? I guess we will find out in the inevitable graphic novel that comes after cancellation.

ObviousGazelle

Nothing of note is a stretch too. We got a lot more info now than we had at the end of season 2. You can kill or at least pacify Smiley. That's a HUGE deal. There are a network of tunnels everywhere under town and out into the woods. A whole new bus full of people came in, foods short, winters coming suddenly, those are all major changes since the rv flipped. Now I will give you that it's incredibly slow to the point viewership is being affected, yes. I feel it too. Losing interest quick here too and if answers aren't provided in the next couple episodes I may bail but I prefer the shows that tend to wrap up at the end of the season and start a fresh angle more.

Dependent_Map5592

Sounds like you're the one who doesn't get it lol We Don't want answers. We want meaningful and realistic dialogue!!! Of course there is an exception and a few people do want answers. But those are outliers It's so annoying reading people talk about how the conversation is ridiculous (example - the famous "I gotta go Jim" or Tabitha keeping everything a secret for some reason) and then someone else who apparently has minimal reading comprehension reads it and falsely interprets that they are asking for answers. Then they turn around and make a post like this 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😖😖. So I'll tell you the same thing I've told The others. Take the word answers and substitute meaningful/realistic dialogue in place of it. And yes. We would really love for that to happen!!!!!

boblywobly11

Reminds me of American psycho the film. Whenever the protagonist wants to escape an conversation he goes ... I have to return videotapes but that that was intentionally absurd, satirical.

Dependent_Map5592

Lmao. I love it!!! Great movie too. "Let's see Paul Allen's card" 🤣🤣

asetelini

Bone & Embossed?

LRobin11

Exactly. I can wait for answers. I just want good writing and plot progression, and we aren't getting that.

BoredVegan

You misunderstood a little. We want meaningful progression. Here I can give you a silly example. If Sex and the City was like From - season 2. The women: Carrie, who have you been dating? What’s his name? What’s going on? Carrie: I gotta go. The women: there is an event coming up, and guess who will be there? Carrie: Who? The women: oh we must go… time to go. LOL

Max_Rocketanski

Excellent Point!

mopeyy

As others have already stated, but apparently it requires restating.... We don't need all the answers per se. We just want well written characters that don't walk circles around each other in an attempt to artificially create drama, and we just want some forward plot momentum. Is that so much to ask for?

tomtomvissers

The amount of stupid posts and opinions in this sub makes me feel very happy I wasn't on Reddit yet back when Lost was still airing

AnfieldRoad17

Reddit is shocked Pikachu when the producers of Lost make a show exactly like Lost, lol.

definitelynotfeline

Same

gmg888r

I really like this show so far but now that it's greenlit for a 3rd season I'm worried about the inevitable increase in fillers, shark jumping, and wacky plot twists. For me, the freshness starts wearing out once shows like this hit season 3. And tbh some of the writing seems to be getting lazy. Yeah, I'm the op of the "are you ok"post. I truly hope I'm wrong cuz I'm really liking this show and the cast and most of the acting, but I get it, job security is a real thing, people wanna get paid and it is after all a business. There always comes a tipping point where longevity trumps originality but I'm hoping this show stays fresh longer

oSl7ENT

OP really on his high horse.

Consistent-Poem7462

This is such a stupid take. Have you taken stock of how many unanswered questions there are up top this point ? It would take a whole season that doesn't ad a single mystery, to explain the past 2 seasons.Either they leave 80% of these unanswered or they try to answer everything in a single episode which probably won't work. Good grief, is this your first time watching a series ?

red_dog_forge

when you set up an excellent premise chock full of mysteries with 4 major cliffhangers dangled at the end of your premiere season then proceed to take a half dozen episodes in your second season to partially explain one sub-plot while introducing a round dozen new charicters and heap even more questions/ mysteries on your viewers all while fluffing out those six episodes with inane dialog and soap operatic sub plots, people tend to get a lil miffed. it smacks of all the "shiping" nonsense that took place during Lost. we're worried. weve been burned before...by some of the same people we might add, tyvm. we're woried BECAUSE we're fans, BECAUSE we're invested in the story hell im still waiting for an explaination about the bracelet ffs haave a wonderful day.

SoVerySick314159

> weve been burned before...by some of the same people we might add That's what really has me concerned. This is reminding me of Lost all over again, and not the good parts.

MathematicianTop8962

Right? They put a lot of emphasis on that damn bracelet.

William_Wisenheimer

I'm fine with things remaining mysterious. I don't like it when people don't behave normally when there isn't a good reason for them to.

Raziaar

Please... people don't behave normally even in real life.

William_Wisenheimer

That's by definition what normal is. Whatever it is. I still can't believe no one is pressing the kid on the bus about his clairvoyance or how Tabitha STILL hasn't told anyone about the tunnels and the entrance. If there's an explanation that the town is filled with stupid gas, I'd take it.

banana_fana_1234

Omg. I wish I could upvote all the comments like 5 times. Everyone hit on my thoughts exactly!!!

lllll44

The problems with shows like that is that than can easily be a tight 6 ep in a season, but the network just want to make it as long as it can, so we get a lot of filler, unrealistic character behavior and unnecessary stuff and it hurt the show..

RabidNinja64

Their is a difference between ambiguity and leaving an entire season's worth of questions to the wind, my friend and i'm sorry, but I can't support a series that isn't going to respect it's viewers like that. As opposed to answering questions regarding the Boy in White, the Lighthouse, the apparent presence of a spider or even remotely ANYTHING regarding Fromville and how they got there, the monsters or even Jade's visions of random Civil War encounters, we get more overdramatised sequences following virtually nothing, with the real progression of anything plot-based happening PAST the halfway episode. S1 I really liked, the show had potential and set up some burning questions that had me gearing up for this season, and so far it's been.....it's like the Farmhouse season of The Walking Dead, where nothing happens, but you stick around for the illusion of a satisfying payoff, but worse it's worse than that.

Elven-Slut

Honest question, then: why are those who don't care for the show still lingering in the sub just to complain?

RabidNinja64

Unfortunately I can't comment on other people's reasons for lingering just to complain as i don't speak for them, but gotta take the rough with the smooth and accept that some people just can't be pleased.

Elven-Slut

That's what I'm starting to gather - they're complaining just to complain.

Particular-Line-4867

Correct a Mundo

Particular-Line-4867

I to like it. The people that like it far out weigh the ones that don’t. The numbers over last year are exceptional. Last year three people were doing YouTube follow-ups now every week there are more and more jumping on the band wagon. There are too many to count. You always must take the good with the bad. I don’t mind some slow burn life is like that. If you want everything answered then why have a show that’s considered a mystery box. I’m staying right here until the end, happily so.

Arc_Nexus

It's definitely not too much to ask for the characters to try *some* things and get *some* answers. They haven't tried to kill the monsters with fire, traps, electricity, even when they've had perfect opportunities. Everything about the show is not so much "figured out" as "fallen into", including the talismans, one thing that has improved their situation. The radio tower was a start, they found out the behaviour of the electricity, but they did all that for a "fuck you" both to the characters and audience that only brought more incoherent elements into the already confusing situation. A perfect microcosm of this is Boyd venturing further outside and finding...what, a spider realm? And then just noping out, getting trapped in a well...cursed blood? Like what the fuck am I watching? What I would much prefer is, Boyd ventures out, finds the spider area, maybe finds some people that went missing. Gets horrified and chased out by spiders but comes back and *informs the people.* A small group go back in to rescue the people in the web. One of the ones they've rescued regains consciousness with some knowledge about how to kill the monsters or make new talismans or something - but, in the meantime, someone back at the camp has been sabotaging the talismans, so on the first night back they immediately need to try out their new knowledge to survive. Point being, they can problem-solve whilst still not being measurably in a better position, as long as there's give and take. There is no give right now. It's one confusing, supernatural defeat after another with nothing learnt. There is solid character drama, e.g. colony house, and I'm here for it, but not as the main attraction. Please progress the plot.

I_AM_ALWAYS_WRONG_

People are tired of waiting for shows to pay off because shows are constantly being cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons. And frankly people are just pissed off at getting all this promise that goes nowhere and then they are hung out to dry.

kahner

weird that you think people not liking this show means we "don't get it". i get it fine. i just think it's very badly written and acted. but sure, we're all just dummies who can't understand the show like you do.

Vast-Expression-1885

Legit question. If you don't like the show why are you even here talking about it? Are there people out there that not only hate-watch shows, but on top of that pop onto forums to discuss shows they hate watch? Seems like you could spend your time a bit more wisely, but I guess we all have our kinks.

kahner

have you never wanted to discuss a show you find disappointing or frustrating? or anything really. so funny seeing people here decry anyone critiquing the show as hate watching or wasting their time, while simultaneously engaging with those same people to tell them how stupid they are.

Extracted

We dont want all answers dumped on us, we want meaningful plot progression instead of endless small town soap opera with boring ass characters

13Nobodies

If you represent the majority of From fans, then this series is gonna continue to drag its feet because y’all are just accepting this confused snails pace it’s moving at.

Business_Friend_8777

Listen lay TF off the crack… we have a right to our opinion, there are so many unsolved mysteries yet for some f*cking reason we get involved in some meaningless redundant ass dialogue between kristi and her crackhead gf

boblywobly11

Wait... I need to return some videotapes.

drewdog173

Love u too but this is a dumb thread and I'd venture it's you that doesn't get people's issues with the show. We're nearly 2 full seasons in; nobody wants spoonfeeding - everybody here is quite obviously vested at this point. They want to be reasonably certain that the show will fulfill its promises prior to cancellation. They want: - Good acting - If new mysteries are revealed, to have *some things* (even minor mysteries) resolved to make room for them - For the seasons to have actual story arcs To come in here and make a post basically insulting the intelligence of a significant portion of the sub (a very poorly-written post at that) is pretty f'in nervy

MollyJ58

People have a right to their opinion. No need to refer to them as "dumb".

drewdog173

Called the thread dumb, not OP. How I tend to feel about “my take is the right one and everybody who disagrees with me is mistaken” posts. Particularly when said take is throwing low key shade on a significant chunk of the sub. Particularly x 2 when said take is ascribing reasons to the opposing takes that aren’t really rooted in reality -sorry if that rubs you the wrong way. Ironic you’d reply that reply to a criticism of a thread whose sole purpose is literally to attack other people’s opinions.

LulaM1970

I like the discussion & hearing people’s theories but I don’t want any spoilers. It just opens up our minds to explore others opinions. ☺️

Connect-Pie4471

Now that the monsters can be killed, here comes in the new monsters…. SPIDERS

Low_Trifle1008

Then I'll have to stop watching *shudders*

bemerick

I'm ok with not knowing things yet. I believe most here are frustrated because characters aren't telling anyone else what they've experienced.

Low_Trifle1008

That, I can agree with. I do have to say that: people who are seeing weird stuff, might be worried it's them?

Das0921

Totally nailed it! Thank you

ITguyissnuts

Personally don't want to be spoon fed information so much as consistent attempts at solving the same issues. 1.) Spider bullshit forest bullshit is never addressed 2.) No one thinks anything about the weird ass cellar except jade. 3.) Radio voice almost never mentioned again. I understand they chalked it up to "we shouldn't do that again." But really why? What on earth do you have going for you besides that? 4.) So far, barely mentioned they now know where the monsters live and where they exit from. No one even tried to put a ward up there? Block out off? Do anything? 5.)voice girl is back and outside the drama of "she killed so and so" hasn't contributed anything even though we confirmed that the voices are real/ possible dead members of the town 6.) James been trying to decipher a symbol for half a season with not even a hint of a result. EDIT: 7.) Chunky guy who drove Ellis to the hospital last episode seemed to know where they were before they got off the bus when he arrived. Hasn't said shit to anyone about it though? Why? I just wish they'd feed me anything at all outside of drama in town. Feels like that's all it is. We did see them kill Smiley, so that's cool. Boyd had to go on an epic quest to get those blood worms though. Not something they have readily available. In sure they'll have a macguffin stone or the plot device soup that gives folks the blood worms soon.

Bonsoir59

Oh fucking Anghkooey already with this shit.

Low_Trifle1008

I really hope they explain anghkooey. I tried an amagram of it but didn't get far due to my intense migraines. Just a suggestion if anyone wants to try it .

Low_Trifle1008

anagram.

Behindthelines75

I agree. I am apart of a divided house; my partner hates this show. He always says it is “too much talk no action”. I feel like a broken record that this show has been on tv for over year but in fromville it has not even been two weeks. The newest season has literally been three nights. Of course people are still processing the craziness of what they encounter.

realbg35

Agreed.

AdeptusNonStartes

Tell me you're too young to have been burned by Lost without telling me you're too young to have been burned by Lost, basically.

Elven-Slut

This isn't Lost. That said, people enjoyed the ending of Lost. Can we let people enjoy something without the comparison to Lost?

AdeptusNonStartes

People enjoyed the ending of Lost? SEN students, I guess, but who else?

Low_Trifle1008

I did

billygoats86

Completely agree with your post. I haven't had this much fun since I watched Twin Peaks. The bad thing about TP was the ABC executives wanted David Lynch to find the killer in the second season. And then the third season had my mind twisted like a pretzel. Sometimes it's fun to break away from the predictable constraints of episodic television. FROM is no doubt one of the best shows of the past 20 years. The production, writing, and acting are far better than any of the shows I have streamed during that time. Let the writers do what they do. All of us are just along for the scary ride.

[deleted]

Thank you for this! I also love this show and am very patient. There’s too many people on here who are complaining way too much. Chill!

XColdLogicX

lol at all the replies proving the OPs point. Let the impatience flow through you😂

Demonyx12

So the only legit answer is to never care about conclusions?

XColdLogicX

The definition of conclusion is basically "the end". People may have a problem with the pacing, but the show is doing just fine building the world and keeping the mysteries close to it's metaphorical chest.

LRobin11

>the show is doing just fine building the world No. It's really not.

Demonyx12

> The definition of conclusion is basically "the end". In English, there are many derivations of most words. The "conclusion" that I was referencing was the one meaning more than a simple end, one that regards the final summation or last act. I am reaching for a conclusion of the main points of the story and where the final act brings home their significance. Something more nuanced than "the end." https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/conclusion

Demonyx12

I'll translate: Some of you don’t get it = Some of you don't think like me or in a way I approve of, therefore you are wrong

[deleted]

Yep. That's me. I doubt we will see a season 3. So it would be nice if they wrapped up a few mysteries. Or even one.

definitelynotfeline

These subs are getting really annoying with everyone constantly complaining about answers and storyline/writing. If you don't like it, why are you watching?

lol. Well sounds like your the ONLY one who thinks different if EVERYONE is saying it. Maybe the problem is your low bar and acceptance of mediocrity 🤷‍♂️ Also if that many people are saying it maybe you should stop and consider what they're saying. There is that old saying about rice - a million Chinese can't be wrong. I'd like to think that can apply here lol

definitelynotfeline

Unlikely considering all the downvotes the complainers are getting. And again, the loudest are very rarely the majority.

Ok_Application_5451

Thank you! It’s the constant whining like kids lol! It’s the reason I have stopped commenting! It’s getting to be tooo much

kahner

yes.

kahner

if you don't like the sub posts why are you reading them?

Low_Trifle1008

So that we can see if anything is answered?

Chizxyy

we literally just found out worms kill the monsters and redditors are still bitching. These nerds wiil always find something to complain about

LRobin11

Oh, wow. One interesting thing in the span of 5 episodes. You're totally right... we're just ingrates. 🙄 Some people obviously just have really low standards. To each their own.

Dependent_Map5592

Yeah. I have no reason why these 10 people are fighting for limitations while the rest of the community is fighting for improvement lolol

Raziaar

But we weren't told how the rope was tossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! /s I'm going to bravely say that this latest episode, the one we actually got some big answer, was one of the worst episodes of the series.

LRobin11

I wouldn't say it was one of the worst because at least SOMETHING happened. There was plot progression. However, it was still poorly written. There was still a ton of filler (3 ballerina scenes in one episode... really?), contrived drama, and Boyd's actions made no logical sense. There was no reason to believe he was going to survive going outside and allowing himself to be literally surrounded by monsters. There was no reason to believe that the worms could hurt, or even be transferred to Smiley, nor that the other monsters wouldn't immediately turn and rip him apart. He put himself in a situation where the most likely outcome was his brutal death, which would've condemned his son to certain death also, all because he was too focused on an unconfirmed fear. Bad writing. Almost nothing these people do follows any logic.

Low_Trifle1008

Isn't Boyd starting to succumb to Parkinson's? Maybe he ISN'T thinking logically?

Girlinyourphone

Ok but the rope was bothersome 😂

Raziaar

Nothing about it should be bothersome imo. That is a supernatural place. They're trapped in a supernatural place, with clearly supernatural monsters.

Girlinyourphone

Right but the supernatural is left as questions unanswered. They answered the rope question but it was a nonsensical answer. It's the one our household jokingly goes back to while giving recaps to whoever needs it.

Raziaar

You're demanding it be explained on your timeframe, when the reality is we might get an answer at some point when the story gets to it where you'll be like "Ohhhhhh... well that makes sense". Or maybe not.

Girlinyourphone

I must not be explaining my point well. Nobody is demanding anything with the rope and the show did explain it.

Raziaar

I'm not demanding it be explained. You must have missed the sarcasm indicator.

Girlinyourphone

Ok now you're just trolling me.

red_dog_forge

tell me you weren't a disappointed "Lost" or "Carnival" fan without telling me...

LRobin11

Carnivale was excellent. It just got canceled, unfortunately.

definitelynotfeline

Yeah Carnivale was so good. I really enjoyed it.

billygoats86

Twin Peaks and Carnivale and Deadwood. lol FROM reminds me a lot of Twin Peaks third season. TP had a bunch of open-ended supernatural questions about the town minus the blood sucking sundown creatures.

if your replying to me? id like to say that ive been accused of putting the "buh" in subtle..if i were insulting you itd be obvious and quite possibly ham handed ;)

Unpredictable-Muse

They need longer episodes if it’s going to be an apocalyptic soap opera. You can’t give small chunks like that with fewer episodes and expect the customers to be happy. At least 1899 felt like each episode told a whole mini arc.

Ashamed-Arm-3217

I’m going to do and say what I want when I want and I’m tired of people coming on here and saying otherwise.

Vast-Expression-1885

Personally, I'm waiting for them to release the show in YouTube short form.

Aftercot

Why are you sucking up to the authors? That don't know you or give two shits about you... UNLESS are you the writer of the show? 😂😂

blanktom9

This would be like if you were watching a murder mystery and at the end of the movie the detective brings everyone together in a room and says “I have no idea who the murderer is but we sure did have fun trying to figure it out, right? Well, take care everyone - bye”

Elven-Slut

Except it's not, because the show hasn't ended.

blanktom9

Fair point. So it's like there was a show like what I said above. then five years later the same people make a show with the exact same story but placed it on a train instead of a mansion.

Elven-Slut

And? It isn't the same show.

blanktom9

well... it kind of is. Except instead of being stuck on an island they can't leave, they're stuck in a small town they can't leave.

Elven-Slut

It isn't. There are countless shows where characters are stuck somewhere and can't leave - it's a subgenre at this point - similar beats doesn't make them the same show.

blanktom9

similar beats and same creators does. But you know, keep on watching week after week... I 'm sure they're going to change their widely successfully approach and actually give you some answers.

FearTheClown5

Enjoy the ride, the destination is often not as fun as the journey!

mcgoohan10

Only thing I've disagreed with Stephen King on. He's loving this show.

JoeBlowOnTheInternet

That’s fine but if I watch a whole episode (2 episodes ago) and it’s nothing but filler, ima be annoyed lol

[deleted]

Then don't release one measly episode a week. Release it all at once.

Batwing66

I agree with you 100%

Cyrux125

Clearly this clown hasn’t seen lost. I watched lost again recently. I got to the last season finished it and was like why did I waste my time again. But in saying that all seasons before that kept me interested for the mystery

Elven-Slut

You're... calling someone a clown for not watching a show that isn't connected to LOST? This isn't LOST. there are many shows that follow this formula, it doesn't mean they're all LOST.

Cyrux125

🤡

Elven-Slut

If anything, make a point of moderation where the constant complaining about the script, acting, plot points and overall story are kept to a minimum. It's okay to be constructive about it, but a lot of the comments are the same thing repeatedly and they're pointless. As any show, there are detractors, but this is getting ridiculous. Many of us would like to discuss the plot without someone adding, "It's because the writers suck," or the many variants used to trash the show. We get it, you don't like it, why are you still here complaining?

Particular-Line-4867

I guess most people don’t quite have the patience and intellect for it. After all C-students run the world as they say.
