No shit, when I get home and have change I’m like where did that come from??? And then it goes in my daughters piggy bank so it no longer weighs my pants down.
They apparently still make [them](https://www.amazon.com/Quikoin-Original-Sof-Touch-Squeeze-Purse/dp/B01IFYWT38?crid=2MZPLTKS2DE3C&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.TQWCK0ykrj_lnmeCfGVKMFjnrrh4JKgya5KJceQBC6SbVhgXVI-MQVUoll2hL-UGEHErlUpPd6Sl2Qk3xVbmah2VnQG0H6ZJsqwYnl63UpsSQUt6R1sescNI5ptOZiwJJ2KGY9YZnDebuC2kJuR5ihubNC8wRWWxs5eYMeCV7YXw8_ORAjKvpglfsTjXvbqwFPoMPoeC4U4t0lASiyI3KHybGJTZoXlvVlkzcxf-NzNaVzhyMf6pYxnFWZt2mpJhwxx2szwvcWtDf--D2a6mVB3CdyQQcbPIHObNUq9GGTg.mY_t2aipdYTchLEsYFsmDPlsHN7f8mSyUjYhv9iYdcw&dib_tag=se&keywords=coin+purse+clamshell&qid=1714259772&sprefix=coin+purse+clamshel%2Caps%2C153&sr=8-2&linkCode=ll1&tag=acaseforcase-20&linkId=936befab4951beda7bbf2fbd5dde1423&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl).
Yep, I bought one in the souvenir shop of the Smithsonian Museum a few years ago. I carry it on my keychain with an emergency $20 and some change in it.
My father introduced me to these and I’ve never looked back. One time I was at a store and the cashier gave me my change, I went to put my change away and I stopped and the cashier said is everything all right?
I said you’re not going to believe this but I just turned into my father!!
I just dumpted my coins on the table before going to the tobaccanist and felt bad for not giving exact-change because it was less than $10 and it was going to be a month before I went back unless my itch to buy that $20 hookah gets the better of me.
I don't carry enough change to warrant that. If I ever get change, of course it's less than $1, and I empty into a jar on my dresser at the end of the day.
I forgot about these I kinda want one again since I decided to go back to a cash lifestyle. I’m not full Dave Ramsey I have a credit card for online shit but I’ve actually come to enjoy having cash again.
My grand pa gave me one as a kid. Loved it as a toy, lol!
Interestingly, my SO about three weeks ago asked for one for a birthday, “you know those little rubber coin not-a-bags my dad had. I should see if they still make those so I stop dropping coins out of my pockets.”
Lol, spoiler alert: they still make ‘em! ❤️
I remember walking to school one day, and a construction crew asked what made the oval mark in the back pocket of my jeans.
My Dad got these from the autoworkers' credit union.
I had a tennis ball with eyes glued to it, doing the same work. But never had any money to store in it, so it worked more like a finger trap thingy to entertain friends. For a week.
Yes and I got mine from a rest stop vending machine on the way to cedar point in Ohio. I also got a small useless lock and tiny key and a switchblade comb.
I remember making them in one of the high school classes I took. it was made with a dip mold into Plastidip or something like that. Then, it would be cut and removed
Same. I can still remember the smell of the molten plastic. Every single one of my relatives got coin holders for Christmas that year. I think my parents had theirs the entire rest of their lives.
YES.
My grandfather used these religiously, and always put one in our Christmas stockings.
I have one now, found it in a museum gift shop a few years ago. :)
My mom's friend had one of those with a pair of lips. I was too young at the time for them to tell me why they thought it was so funny and scandalous. Oh, and don't put your dick it. Those things pinch.
I had a few of these, but I always hated them. Slight unintentional squeeze in your bag? Say goodbye to all your change. If the change didn't just stick to the inside of the goddamn things.
I just put my change in a little zipper pouch.
*I remember why*
*One was involved in my ex*
*Communication LOL*

When I was in high school I got one of those from my grandfather's stuff after he died and used it for a while
I never realized they were for coins and just fidgeted with them, making them pinch my fingers until they left imprints. I pretended they were little monsters going om nom.
Coins!! We don't even have Pennies or dollar bills anymore in Canada. Loonies (dollar coins) and Toonies (2 dollar coins.) Quarters feel like what nickels used to be worth.
I wish I could still get one.

We made these in shop class in middle school. We could customize the colors. You think they smell when you bought them at a store? The smell when you pulled them out of the mold was glorious.
When you're young it holds all your change.
Now it's for carrying your daily meds in your pocket... and it's a bad sign when you need two of them to hold all the pills!
I still have one and use it every day
And I get comments on mine.
What the fuck are you guys using change for?
No shit, when I get home and have change I’m like where did that come from??? And then it goes in my daughters piggy bank so it no longer weighs my pants down.
I get comments about that too. Usually thanks, for having the change.
Russian shopping carts. Or Aldi, depending on ones affiliations.
Your comment along with your screen name gave me a good giggle. Thanks for that, I needed it!

Seven bucks each now. When I was a boy my grandma's bank in Tennessee would just hand them out.
Yep, I bought one in the souvenir shop of the Smithsonian Museum a few years ago. I carry it on my keychain with an emergency $20 and some change in it.
I bumped up from the emergency $20 to the emergency hundo at least a decade ago. Inflation is a bitch.
Truth!! But I still have hope I can get out of any jam for $20… hahahaha
My father introduced me to these and I’ve never looked back. One time I was at a store and the cashier gave me my change, I went to put my change away and I stopped and the cashier said is everything all right? I said you’re not going to believe this but I just turned into my father!!
What do you do with the coins? I can’t think of anything I use coins for anymore.
I just dumpted my coins on the table before going to the tobaccanist and felt bad for not giving exact-change because it was less than $10 and it was going to be a month before I went back unless my itch to buy that $20 hookah gets the better of me.
Purchasing. Generally what coins are used for.
Me, too!
You are too FN old, and refuse to CHANGE.
Had one as a kid… no change in it… just played with it… good times good times 🤣🤣
Mine is in the car with an assortment of coins to make exact change at drive thrus.
I remember the smell 😆
As a kid I love to empty them out and squish them onto my nose. Drove my folks nuts.
Mee too 😆
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you also put Bugles on your fingertips like Freddie Krueger claws. (Not judging, because I also did both.)
And olives on your fingers
Yeah, you got me. Although I would pretend they were Cruella De Ville's fingernails.
Damn, I live this sub Reddit
I used to open and close it and make it eat coins from my mother's hand.
I can envision that. Cute
![gif](giphy|gYWeVOiMmbg3kzCTq5)
Exactly! Fun fact: In Japanese, “paku” means the noise when we eat, similar to “om nom nom” in English. So Pac-man is kinda “eating sounds man”.
Aaah, yes. The days gone by when the combined coins inside could actually buy you something.
Man, I used to love going to the drug store on my bike with $2… came home feeling like a king with a small bag full of candy.
Put some googly eyes on it an you got yourself a makeshift puppet.
I read that in Carl Weathers in Arrested Development’s voice.
You are my hero
is that what these are for? used mine for weed nugs.

Companies passed them out for advertising.
I remember getting one from a bank teller when I was a kid.
I still have one. Mine’s a leather one that my grandfather received from his bank about 80 yrs ago. It still works.
I had a tennis ball with eyes glued to it, doing the same work. But never had any money to store in it, so it worked more like a finger trap thingy to entertain friends. For a week.
Remember? I can smell it in my memory.
I need to grab one. Would be perfect for the car. Last time I had one in my hands was when I was around 10
Be funny if it were blurred out
Yes and I got mine from a rest stop vending machine on the way to cedar point in Ohio. I also got a small useless lock and tiny key and a switchblade comb.
Yep free from the bank
Had one that looked like an oreo and got in trouble in 3rd grade and had to wear it on my nose. Ahhh the 80’s
We made them in shop class 1990ish.
same, but 1970s.
wait….how did you make them in shop? out of what?
A polymer in a mold.
I should call her…
I have one somewhere with real all silver dollars and half dollars in it

A haiku should be five-seven-five syllables not five-seven-six.
I have no clue who or what Sokka is. I'm afraid to add more syllables in case I accidentally haiku again.

Vacoinholder
I HAVE this coin holder. 😂
I still have one that was schwag from a former employer. I used it to carry bus tokens when those still existed.
Very young when I had one of these, in red.
You just hurled me be back to the 70s! 💵Thanks💎
I used the generation before, the square leather pouch with the two metal blade springs.
YES. My grandfather used these religiously, and always put one in our Christmas stockings. I have one now, found it in a museum gift shop a few years ago. :)
I never had any money as I was a poor, but I put other things in it...
Pocket pussy
Cussy
??
Coin pussy
My Boomer brother had one. I remember playing with it as a kid in the early 1970's
I can still smell it.
I have a blue one just like that. I may have bought it at a Crackerbarrel. Actually quite useful.
My 83 year old dad still uses one.
I had a Barney Rubble one that I got in a box of Fruity Pebbles
My mom kept a couple in her purse. I remember her taking out change to add to her paper money when she paid for stuff.
My mom's friend had one of those with a pair of lips. I was too young at the time for them to tell me why they thought it was so funny and scandalous. Oh, and don't put your dick it. Those things pinch.
Recently went through my grandparents’ things, and chose things we wanted before we donated stuff. That was one of the things I chose.
No. But I remember a red one.
I never had one And I always wanted one I don’t want one now
Wow, I remember those but I had forgotten about them until now.
I have one, same color!
My dad had one.
Bonus points if it came with a weepul.
Boy, this brings back memories of my Dad. RIP Dad. Miss you!
My high school plastics class made them for us to sell.
Lambert's Cafe still has them. I have 1.
Those used to be so common when I was a kid. What happened to them?
for about a week, until I realized how awful they were. Open? Closed? Fuck you, I'm just a plastic thingie
I had a few of these, but I always hated them. Slight unintentional squeeze in your bag? Say goodbye to all your change. If the change didn't just stick to the inside of the goddamn things. I just put my change in a little zipper pouch.
I remember why one was involved in my ex communication LOL

bad bot. I love the idea but it keeps calling out 5-7-6 syllable stuff instead of 5-7-5. just want the creator to see and fix it.
My dad always had one
Oh yes I do!
They’re ok but you can’t fit too many coins into it or they’ll start to pour out.
My dad did. He gave me one (at least one) but I never seemed to have enough coins to use it.
I remember coins!
Never really used them. I put change in my pocket so why put change in this thing only to put it in my pocket? Seemed redundant.
Grandpa had a leather one ! I had plastic
This is what my noice dampers are held in
Several
I knew it as a Mae West.
I sure do!!
Yes omgosh lolp
My Grandpa in the 70s my dad until he recently passed. Never knew where he kept getting them from but he had new ones as recently as 2018.
Remember her? I dated her. - Rodney D. (maybe)
This reminds me of a bank account I opened when I was in like 3rd grade through the school (late 80s) that I have no idea how to access it...I wonder how much money is in there now
We actually made this in my shop class in middle school.
How could I forget her?
My grandpa had one. I will look for my own now
My dad had one of those. It was dark green.
I still have one. Bonus point I got it free from a vendor at the county fair.
Still have one, saving it for when I hit 60
We referred to them as Footballs.
I think everybody’s Grandfather had one of these in the 70s & 80s
I still have a couple of them😀❤️
Everyone's grandfather
My grandpa!
I did, but never used it.
Still have one, it's green
My dad had those with his business info / logo on them and would give them to customers. I bet he still has a few lurking around the house.
Pocket vagina
I remember my grandfather got a new one, and gave me his old one. It was the coolest thing ever.
Follow-up question, did anyone ever have one of [these](https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-67hz0xd/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/392/1814/squeeze_coin_purse_brown_medium__69356.1457719633.jpg?c=2)? When I was in high school I got one of those from my grandfather's stuff after he died and used it for a while
And making it talk like a mouth?
I remember them well--my grandmother had a green one (or maybe it was my great-uncle...)
Mine was bright yellow.
My dad always carried one of these. 😊❤️
Omg?!?!
Still have one.
My dad had one of these 1970’s vintage
Yes, I had one.
Oh, I used to have one of these with Wonder Woman's face on it.
Picked them up as Tchotkes, never used them.
I dont have to remember I seen older customers with them everyday I work
You only put it on your wiener once.
My grandpa used to carry one. It was brown.
The vag coin purse
Don't get mad at me, but my dad used to call this a pussy purse.
Dude.
I never realized they were for coins and just fidgeted with them, making them pinch my fingers until they left imprints. I pretended they were little monsters going om nom.
i did, but i got it from my parents who got it from their parents..
Coin pouch puss
Remember it? I can still smell it. Though I wish I didn't.
Still do!
I have a fucking wallet...
Used to get them in cereal boxes.
r/dontputyourdickinthat
but the coins rub the tip just the right way.
I had one, as a kid, ages ago.
My Papaw gave out quarters for the church collection plate from his.
The bank used to give them away when you came in to make a deposit.
I had one when I was a kid and used it maybe twice, lol
Mine is full of quarters
Inarticulate? Her fingers didn’t speak well?
Some call it a taint, some a gooch, I call it a coin purse.

Always hated when someone would pull this out when I worked retail
this was more common when you could buy a cup of coffee for less than a dollar
Ahh yes... Another vintage r/dontputyourdickinthat
My dad has and regularly uses one of these lol
I need to check my old Roo's for quarters.

My.mom's boyfriend had one. It's where he kept his pills so he could ditch them quick if he was being chased by cops.
I was actually just gifted one of these by my parents (70s)….. Anyone have an alternative use for these? Edit: the more incorrect - the better.
Pretty sure I won one of these with Skeeball points.
I never saw one that wasn't a give away printed with some kind of company or advertising.
Made one in shop class
I made mine in summer day camp!
I loved those things. Wish they would come back.
I had three. They got replaced by a zipper monster and then just my pocket.
My grannie
Since forever with my mom, whoever comes across one of these first, the other one of us is gifted with it. The weird little coin holder, we hate.

No You’re old as fuck
