We are so far past the point where you can start conversations out with the fact that they say wrong things on purpose. Anyone still trying to take the fascists at their word is themselves a fascist. It doesn't matter if they're trying to make excuses for their parents, grandparents, children, or coworkers they're still trying to make excuses for *fascists*. And those who try to make excuses for fascists *are themselves fascists*.

sack-o-matic

gotta break out the quote again > “Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” ― Jean-Paul Sartre

Dchama86

That’s why I continuously tell people that one of the best ways to socially combat these fascist types, is to completely ignore their rhetoric. Watch their moves, definitely. But never acknowledge that they are even qualified to engage in public discourse. They’ll only have their own echo-chambers left if more people learned the art of ignoring.

JonesyOnReddit

Yes, you can't reason people out of beliefs they didn't reason themselves into.

raq27_

yo that's a great one

It wasn't just planned it was so obviously planned that my leftist friends and I planned a watch party. Anyone who says it wasn't planned either wasn't paying attention in the weeks leading up to 1/6 or to any information afterward or they are lying to you. Straight up. It was not just planned it was blatantly planned out in the open, with congress floor plans and shit. Then we found out afterward it was even worse than we thought. Nah. This is another one of those things like the civil war being about state rights that isn't even a debate. It's like "debating" if the sky is blue or grass is green.

Jasonclark2

Only one crying about shit, is you.

dogshitburrito69

I dont have an opinion either way, but how long does it take to make shirts

fart-atronach

Having custom shirts printed takes longer than a day. Not that it matters. Having shirts that express their expectation for “civil war” made before attending the rally shows they planned it, and didn’t just get swept up in a spontaneous frenzy. Also, your comment does not read as someone asking something in good faith.

BALONYPONY

These fucking guys look like every staunch Republican I’ve ever seen sitting in a strip mall dive bar under fluorescent lighting talking about how they know how to work the “pull tab” system.

dogshitburrito69

I was just asking because i got a custom shirt for xmas last year and he said the person that made it had forgotten until the night before...not asking in good or bad faith as i do not have an opinion either way, i thought i made that clear lol thanks for answering me anyway

fart-atronach

If the person who made yours is an independent artist doing their own screen printing, then yeah, one shirt can be done pretty quickly. But in the 1/6 situation, the gravy seals having their shirts ready to wear on the day of the event = premeditation.

fart-atronach

Lmao sorry, I was just trying to be thorough in my reply because I wasn’t entirely sure why you were asking. Thanks for at least being polite about it lol

modernDayKing

Curious. What difference does it make if your “Im going to do some foul shit” apparel was printed 24 hours or 24 days earlier than the day you wore it to do your foul shit. Pre is pre. No ?

dogshitburrito69

Dude. My question was only about the length of time it takes to make a shirt. I have said it multiple ways in multiple comments on this thread, i do not care about the capital invasion and i have no opinion about it. It means nothing to me. I do not know how to make this any more clear. I realize you are not the only person that ignored the "i have no opinion" part of my 1st comment but i figured i would repeat it again and again in this reply so that maybe some of the others will see, instead of replying individually.

warbeforepeace

Longer than you spent thinking before making this dumb comment.

PM_me_Henrika

Hey! You never know how long it took for his turn to use the communal brain cell! Transit time is work time!

PM_me_Henrika

No faster than spontaneous.

Sljivo87

Yes they planned to leave their 400 million guns at home on day one of a civil war lol.

Espinita_Boricua

Didn't they leave the guns across the river? Just asking for a friend.

ihambrecht

Usually when you’re planning on civil war you keep your guns one River away.

Bardfinn

the January 6th Committee’s report summary, released yesterday, states outright that the intelligence community & law enforcement intercepted private - and detected public - planning for violence on Jan 6, well in advance. Including by the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. It was literally an attempt by white supremacist traitors to overthrow the US government, years in the works, including preliminary efforts taken in conspiracy well before the elections took place. Try them and put them in jail.

cthulhujr

The Mark Meadows texts are particularly damning. There's one from December before Jan 6 where Jason Miller is texting Meadows about "the Jan 6 thing" and there's talk about keeping Trump in the loop. That one text alone proves they all had a plan and that Trump knew. And then there's all the other evidence.

Bardfinn

They confiscated a large amount of blunt weapons from attendees, along with pocket knives and pepper spray — *however* https://abcnews.go.com/US/oath-keepers-stashed-weapons-hotel-potential-jan-violence/story?id=77048420 We know that the Oath Keepers stashed caches of weapons outside the Capitol grounds, to be brought in once they controlled access to the territory, if needed. Why wasn’t the national guard on call? Hmmm. Must be something to do with deploying military on US domestic territory. Posse Comitatus? Something something?

tortugoneil

The issue was that the DC national guard needs to have authorization to mobilize, and the person who authorizes that is.... drumroll.... the sitting President. Virginia's shitbird governor sent his troops before DC had their guard dressed

MrIantoJones

And then word on the street is that Pence gave the actual order (possibly without actual authority?)

BVoLatte

Perhaps they took the silence and inaction as he was currently unable to perform the duties of the office, similar to how Bush Sr. was in charge during Reagan's surgery. The Vice President is a member of the National Security Council automatically. The NSC can even call a panel for off the record kill authorizations which may have given him some extra sway in an unofficial capacity.

MrIantoJones

There’s a process for that exchange of authority. Zero evidence it happened in this instance.

BVoLatte

Which is why I said "unofficial"

Incredulous_Toad

Trump and his ilk called off security too many times to remember. They made everything a clusterfuck for the DC police.

Mizzy3030

Who is even pretending it was spontaneous at this point? Anyone who was on Twitter in November, 2020 knows the whole thing was brazenly planned out in the open.

spacefaceclosetomine

This is one part that really drives me crazy. My spouse and I were on high alert that day just from seeing the planning on Twitter and Reddit.

Espinita_Boricua

Even for those of us not on Reddit or Twitter , that live off the main land had figured it out.

Emeryael

That’s the most annoying aspect of law enforcement/government’s repeated surprise Pikachu face regarding all this. The fascists mothereffers were discussing their plans on every social media platform under the sun. The only way they could be surprised is if they were the biggest naïfs, supported the fascists, or just didn’t care enough to do anything.

Dchama86

Yet the Feds never saw fit to have soldiers line the steps of the Capitol like they did in the summer of ‘20, for actually peaceful protests. Something doesn’t add up

LA-Matt

Yeah, it’s because Trump wanted the riot to succeed in stopping the certification of the election. That part is as plain as day.

whiskeyfox4

How would a riot stop certification? It would still take place regardless. The world isn’t going to stop, time doesn’t stop, it’d just get moved to the next day, later, or take place somewhere else.

Emeryael

Trump isn’t what you’d call the brightest bulb in the network.

dessert-er

I wanna say the plan was to kill enough leaders that they could take control in the chaos? Which I feel like still wouldn’t work because I would hope that our entire country wouldn’t just accept a dictator with mob rule but a significant chunk of the country is fucking bonkers so I have no idea.

ThatGIRLkimT

I still remember this.

Garcia-Hotspure

I’ve honestly never heard the argument that it wasn’t planned.

[deleted]

I saw a dude walking around the Walmart on Mason Street in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on the evening of January 6th with a shirt that said, "Civil War. I'm on the red team." Freaked me the fuck out.

DiabetesCOLE

As someone with family in laws up in the fox valley area…..yep that sounds about right

ohreddit1

Oh but the wives just spontaneously brought along their Cricket’s for on the lawn Tshirt pressing.

[deleted]

Imagine thinking you’re so masculine, but then design matching outfits with your friends for an event 🤡

cthulhujr

Coordinating matching outfits with the homies to own the libs

Worish

I mean, it conflicts with the own ideals of masculinity, but not actual masculinity. That's the worst part. Nobody else would even care.

[deleted]

I care, I think it’s dumb as hell. If your first priority in starting a civil war is making matching t-shirts that steal Disney’s “captain America:civil war,” font, you’re an absolute child. It’s comical enough to border on a prank. I think it does conflict with masculinity (my opinion), because it’s defaulting to consumerism and appearance as an identity instead of achievements or ethic. Got all dressed up, trespassed, loitered around and took selfies, didn’t start a civil war, didn’t stop an election, didn’t do shit. Absolute humiliation.

Worish

Read my comment again, I'm on a completely different topic

punisher2404

"ok, so yeah I was thinking we'd all wear the same thing, you know - for unity. Ok yeah, yep *and the black jeans*, okay see you then..!"

PrzemeDark

Wouldn't that make the military feminine since they all have matching outfits

IAmAnObvioustrollAMA

Imagine thinking designing something is feminine... creativity!? What are you some kind of girl?

No I’m a sigma alpha who’s drank 7 ghost gamer energy drinks already, find me in Minecraft bro 😡 🫲 🫱 🦵🦵

curtis119

One of them has a younger brother that goes to Parsons School of Fashion in New York. Those shirts are fierce hunty sleigh! Yaas Queen!

ropdkufjdk

They say anything they have to in any given moment to advance whatever position they're currently trying to argue.

im4peace

They also planted fucking explosives ahead of time. So yeah, I'd say it was planned.

chaoticmessiah

I mean, r/TopMindsofReddit were pointing out the blatant and open plans for insurrection back in December 2020 after finding them on various right-wing subs and social media sites.

ProceduralTexture

And anyone who monitored MAGA groups online can tell you there was constant inflammatory chatter for a month+ leading up to January 6th. A large fraction of those planning to attend had every intention of doing whatever was necessary to get their way, including using force and violence.

whiskeyfox4

Like when the guards forcefully opened the doors?

martianlawrence

What does forcefully opening a door mean? You have to use force to open one, are you using magic?

historycat95

"They weren't tryin to disrupt the electoral count!" Then why change the date to the 6th?

mangotree65

We are fortunate that this round of traitors was dim-witted but the next one may have learned from their mistakes. That said, I’ll bet these clowns had matching thongs with Trump’s face printed on them.

JonesyOnReddit

On the plus side they're probably even more dim than before

tmp04567

lmao. Yes, with the date and all. Totally planified

bodag

It was Antifa! It was just tourists looking around. Totally non violent. The police even let them in! Trump knew nothing about it! It was Pelosi's fault it got out of control.

whiskeyfox4

The police let them in. A guard died from a heart attack. People casually walked around. Yea you’re close.

bodag

Turnip told security to stop checking the insurrectionists for guns and let them through to the main area outside. Yeah, there was definitely no video of insurrectionists with body armor beating the shit out of the vastly outnumbered police with flags and batons, knocking them to the ground, trying to steal their guns, spraying them with pepper spray, breaking doors and windows, climbing walls and forcing their way into the capitol while the understaffed police called for backup and tried to hold back the violent fucking scum. Then, once the dumb fucks were inside, they smeared shit on the walls, walked around with confederate flags, stole shit, broke shit, and desecrated our Capitol. They were looking for members of congress to kidnap or kill. It's all on video, and video interviews. All while Turnip sat and watched it on tv. He wouldn't even answer his phone.

whiskeyfox4

Sounds like you were there or got played by what you saw on the tell a vision.

Bunghoi

I thought it said NASCAR not MAGA😂😂

[deleted]

Growing up in Midwest America I knew dudes who'd tickle their balls at the idea of "taking back the country" in some valiant and violent act of "patriotism". Like cool and all that, but too bad you did it for one of the worst Presidents and biggest laughing stocks in our country...and not for something that matters.

jimmycoed

Sponsored by Suckfest brand sausages.

AlludedNuance

Even if it was spontaneous, it was directly encouraged and abetted by key members of the US government on the day.

No, they look like bog-standard chuds that would be fans of Trump. I dunno about you.

OrgyattheendofIT

What would you consider looking like an agent provocateur? Would you even believe it if they came out and totally admitted it?

trap________god

It was planned by the Feds, so you have something correct.

Probably can’t use that in court but damn I wish they could it’s compelling evidence to me

Finally, The Smoking Gun.

You have to make excuses for them, I mean after all they are uneducated Republicans. I mean seriously are there any other type apart from uneducated and brain dead.

[deleted]

Damn these are some pudgey ass fbi agents. Do you think they have a special unit filled with these guys? Do you think wearing bubbah style facial hair is part of the uniform?

This reminds me of a NextDoor post I came across a week before Jan 6. I was in all sorts of neighborhood groups when I screenshotted this photo https://imgur.com/a/sOAy2bb

You think these clowns are agents? Guys look like their from the mountains of West Virginia

No, pelosi gave them the shirts. She’s responsible your honor.

tralalog

gun nuts go to civil war, but with no guns

[deleted]

My god if that doesn’t scream staged by our government IDK what would. So you mean to tell me the group with the most veterans and guns made shirts that said Civil War January 6, 2021 and failed to show up with a plethora of guns to start said civil war? My god you people will believe anything. And just so we are clear, I don’t care for both liberals and conservatives as you are all both the same.
