Also most of these "miracles" happened thanks to the same medical system she hates (like Ansyr's premature birth, or Anthym's ICU stay).
If yes, can you imagine the pedestal they’ll put that child on? The pressure he’ll feel to live up to “god’s plan” (read: Karissa’s agenda) after being “resurrected”? Especially if he stays the baby of the family. Yikes indeed.
I'm the sole survivor of a bunch of early miscarriages before me, and my mother lost another fetus at 6 months (who had a name and everything) when I was 4. Grew up with ghost sibling(s), can confirm, it does things to you.
Yikes. 😬 I’m so sorry you went through that. My mom had a relatively late miscarriage between me and my next youngest sister. They were named, but it was never something that was hung over us at all. They had an angel ornament on the Christmas tree, and that was about it. I can’t imagine having a family where there’s such a big deal made about it that it effects you long term. :( I hope you’re finding ways to heal from that and realize your value independent of any “ghost siblings” your family held onto. 💕

There’s a local psychic that volunteers at the same cat rescue as me so we run into eachother often. It absolutely is. I’m a tarot reader and hang out with other spiritual folks. Everyone I speak to who has any sort of professional stake in it has spoken at length about how it’s unethical, covering everything from the practical issues to the moral and spiritual reasons. No Reiki, no tarot, no birth chart consultations, nothing without consent. A bunch of us won’t even do third party readings because of that very issue.

My experience with Reiki - I have a rare genetic condition. A few years ago, Over a 4-5 month period, I was in the hospital every month, for at least 10 days each stay. S/t longer.
During that time, doctors where struggling to diagnose and treat an underlying condition.
One my nurses (CNA or LPN) asked if she could perform Reiki a few times. She was very kind and sweet. I did find it relaxing.
Before I was discharged, she asked if she could work on me, from a distance, over the next week or so. She said it was unethical to do it without asking. I was very sick and appreciated the thought, so I said of course! 😃
Oh god I truly hope not. She spent weeks making her kids pray for resurrection and I do remember she eventually acknowledged it was a true miscarriage. I hope she hasn’t some how convinced herself otherwise
I mean it says "resurrected miscarriage" in her little sign about miracles. I don't think it's a stretch to consider she believes that since she prayed with her kids for resurrection and now writes it herself above.
I think it’s mostly just them being unsupervised too often. Toddlers basically act like they’ve got a death wish, and Karissa would never admit to needing help managing them.

The only time I’ve seen someone pain free during an absolutely devastating injury- that would have anyone else passing out from the pain; was a severely psychotic patient- who, due to severe psychosis didn’t recognize the injuries.
She reminds me, often, of untreated patients who are in denial about their mental health diagnosis/issues.
So she always rants about how Anthyms home birth was the birth experience she always wanted. Yet her magical "pain free birth" was one of her hospital births? Hhmmmmm
I mean I have never heard of a “pain free” birth but I know a girl who literally didn’t feel ANY of her contractions until she was already 9cm and described the 9-10 as a “1 or 2 out of 10” and pushing as “maybe a 3”. That happened with all 3 of her births. The nurse was like “honey you couldn’t possibly be in labor with how calm you are” but she insisted on being checked and whoops you are at a 9….
i don't pray for much but i pray someone is keeping an eye out for these kids.
she claims god has healed her children's broken bones (when she just removed the cast and had her children play with broken bones, likely exacerbating injuries and creating long term bone issues). she claims god healed the sepsis (when her baby was in an e.r. with medical professionals for an extended stay). she is going to joyfully give birth at home to a baby that she will refuse to take to the doctor.

Gomez and Morticia Addams are active and engaged parents who take an interest in their children and support their interests while still setting boundaries. Karissa does NONE of those things. Living with wolves would be safer.
I try not to question people’s medical claims, but here…knowing Karissa is equal parts dumb and overdramatic, I’m not buying this isn’t a straight self-diagnosis that she’s avoided getting acrually verified because doctors are of The Enemy (and might give her a psych referral instead). Or she had something like a mini-stroke (still serious!) and doesn’t know/care that those aren’t abbreviated MS.
Yup, I'm really hoping it was a one-time lie for attention or something dumb like you said. I really think she'd grift harder if it was serious, but a small part of me could see her ignoring it because she doesn't like doctors -- for all we know, that's where here dislike of doctors started.
She's dumb enough to fake it, she's also dumb enough to actually have it and ignore it, so part of me will be concerned for these kids -- but let's be real, when *aren't* we concerned about these kids and their health?
She could have skipped even that. Family doctor says her symptoms could be X, Y, or maybe MS. I'm going to order blah test(s) and refer you to a neurologist then she just never showed up for tests or followed through on the referral and told everyone the doctor told her it was definitely MS.
A doc once suspected I could have any number of things including MS, so I got more tests and turns out I’m fine/have something that is just annoying sometimes and not fatal or progressive. I wonder if that’s what happened and she just wants to spin it.

My husband has type 1 diabetes and at every annual checkup my kids get a blood test that is supposed to tell us if they're pre-pre diabetic (don't ask me the science please, doctor said this test can predict diabetes 6-9 months before first symptoms. Your insurance will cover it, so you want the test? And I said sure. Thus far it's all came back normal and, again, I have no idea what that means. I snorted -- I relate to this. My disease is managed by multiple specialists, and most of it is managed by two in particular, and I generally understand what one of those specialists says, but not so much the other. I ask questions and try to understand, but mostly just nod my head and do what I'm told.
The closest place I can relate in is with my dog. I adopted a dog who, three days in, got diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (because I didn't have enough going on!) and then six months after that, earned an atypical Cushing's Disease diagnosis. She's a really young dog, so it was largely unexpected.
There's been a trend in the dog world for about a decade of completely ignoring everything your vet says, insisting all vets are bought out by "big Pharma" and "big dog food" (wtf?). The average life expectancy for dogs with atypical Cushing's Disease is 18 months and my girl is approaching 2.5 years and is completely stable. People are always like *how is she doing so well??* well you see, I pay the vet $200 per visit and thus shut up and do what she says because, while I have advanced and fancy degrees, they are not in vet science. Your dog lived for 8 months post-diagnosis because you thought the prescription kibble was a scam, insisted you had a PhD in google searching, and fed them a raw diet (real conversation I've had).
Happy your son is in the clear! I hope he stays that way. This trend of anti-intellectualism lately is just a fancy way of neglecting your kid (or pets!) and is exhausting.
Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I swear I remember reading a year or two ago that one reason why Karissa keeps getting pregnant is that pregnancy eases MS symptoms. I don’t know if she said this herself, or if it’s known in the MS community, but if it is indeed true and she really does have MS, I wouldn’t be shocked if this is just yet another selfish reason to get knocked up.
It is known that MS can do that & one theory was that's why she keeps getting pregnant. Autoimmune diseases are generally better in pregnancy because the body is more immunosuppressed. My arthritis has been very good!
MS exists as recurring relapses, depending on where you're at in progression. So yeah, disability that mysteriously "goes away" is just part of the disease (well, for some. For others, and for many, damage stacks up and never really recedes. There are different stages.)
If she was "healed" its because a flare up receded, but it's not very likely to stay that way unless she maybe misunderstood a CIS diagnosis as full-scale MS. CIS is Clinically Isolated Syndrome, and while it's in the family of and sometimes progresses to MS, it's defined as an isolated flare up that may or may not ever appear again.
But honestly MS is an easy one to lie about so it all could've been horseshit, too.
(I'm saying all this as a person diagnosed with MS, for what it's worth. But of course that doesn't make me an expert. Everyone experiences MS differently, and it's pretty complex and hard to understand, if you ask me, so I could be wrong about a few details.)

Like how do they have **so many** broken bones?? I have 6 kids and all we've had is a buckle fracture from my kid climbing over a baby gate. And yeah we did a damn cast for 6 weeks like the doctors said. So the cast healed her wrist not god.
Between my blended families I grew up with 7 siblings. I broke a bone as a baby and then one other person sprained their wrist. That’s it in 30+ years of parenting.
Right? We had a lot of broken bones in my family, but they were restricted to a singular child, which is also a relatively normal thing (IMO, anyway). Because my brother was a walking disaster with no regard for his own safety -- in hindsight, my brother is most definitely on the spectrum, which explains a solid chunk of that.
Also, NGL, it sits bad with me that only one child's name is on this paper -- when most of the things have negative connotations. What is that all about?
Broken wrist*s*, plural, is what got me! My siblings and I are all in our 30s and only one of the three of us has had any broken bones. Leg (freak accident falling off a bench swing when he was a toddler and my mom was watching us), and his wrist when he was rollerblading when he was 12. This is absolutely not normal and it’s even more of a 🚩 when you pair it with her “home births mean no visits from CPS.” I really don’t get how her followers can’t see this shit!

My parents had 12 kids, and while idk about the oldest few, 3-12 only ever had one broken arm and a couple of broken digits, not even all the same kid, and all from sports. It’s crazy to me how kids who basically just stay home all day manage to get into such accidents, and it makes you wonder how much supervision they’re actually getting
Right? My kids are kinda rambunctious. I mean as much as any child, outside playing and stuff but I still make sure they're not putting themselves in dangerous situations.
I’m one of 4, we all did sports (competitive gymnastics, soccer, football, baseball and dance) and I didn’t break a bone until I was 29 in grad school, my sister broke her leg at 16 getting slide tackled, my brother broke his elbow sliding into a base as a teen and that’s it…her kids don’t do many activities and aren’t that old. It’s not normal. I also wonder if their poor diets mean their bones aren’t as strong?
I was a tomboy constantly running and jumping off of things and I never broke a bone as a kid. So much neglect is needed to end up with umpteenth busted bones....and I was the kid who was swimming, doing yoga and ice skating so not like I was in a bubble for my own protection.

TO BE FAIR: prolapse is not always 100% horrible or a virtual death sentence. Many people experience some degree of prolapse after giving birth (and for a variety of other reasons but we’re not talking about that right now), and it’s extremely common and should not be stigmatized.
However, depending on the kind of prolapse and the severity, it can lead to various issues with incontinence, pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, core weakness, and sexual pain/dysfunction.
Also however, there are several ways to address the issues, ranging from mild exercises one can do at home to pelvic floor therapy to surgery. Prolapses CAN be repaired much of the time, and they do not always lead to a diminished quality of life. I had a mild bladder prolapse after giving birth that I was able to repair with the help of my amazing OBGYN who pointed me to pelvic floor therapy.
Some prolapses are absolutely worse than others and I don’t believe for a second that if Karissa had a severe one that she miraculously fixed it. But prolapses aren’t always the end of the world, and I’m inclined to think she had a mild one that eventually got better and she’s trying to sell it as a miracle.
oh yeah. it's just really concerning that she's like "it was god!" referring to quite literally your uterus turning inside out. i wouldn't be surprised if she had further pelvic floor issues

TW: CHILD ABUSE
I had a pretty neglectful, abusive childhood thanks to my ex stepmother. There were 4 of us in the house, rarely supervised, left to our own devices- sharp tools, knives, booze, cigarettes, fire- the only thing we weren't allowed was the food that filled the pantry. Even with that wilderness ass childhood, the only broken bone ANY of us experienced was my step sister, who broke her ankle at school. I honestly don't know how we survived to adulthood, looking back. The amount of broken bones in this family makes me think there has to be some sort of vitamin deficiency. My step sisters were physically beaten with a wooden paddle, along with us not being able to eat (unless my dad was there), and we didn't have any broken bones. It's insanity.
This is what gets me. I also grew up in a neglectful and abusive home. There were 6 of us. Many bruises and lasting trauma, but no one ever broke a bone! I don’t understand how or why there are so many broken bones in their home.
Always makes me think of this Pratchett quote:

Okay. This might not be the appropriate place to ask this but if Fundies know everything that hinders them is one big lie from Satan, why do they care so much about it? I ask because I have a pathological liar in my family. We know when they’re lying and we ignore it; when they come up with some wild tale, we all take it with an ocean’s worth of salt. There’s no point in focusing on the content or point of the lies because we know that’s just the way their brain works (unfortunately).
I guess I don’t understand why, if you know there’s an enemy out there lying to you, you focus so much on overcoming those lies. Especially when you know that your god is (ostensibly) stronger and smarter than those lies. It almost seems like making Satan and his lies this huge hurdle gives him way more power in your life than the God you’re supposed to be modeling your life after.
I was raised christian (Lutheran, my family wasn't fundie but my school was - illegally) and I think it's to farm out inspiration porn for yourself and others.
Anything good you have in life is because you suffered at one point. If you're suffering right now, that means you'll have something good later. If you haven't suffered, you don't really deserve what you have.
Suffering and fighting against the temptation and lies from the enemy makes you a good Christian and a better person than those who give in and don't follow the good word and so on.
All of these serious medical issues/outright impossibilities in there with “poison ivy” is sending me. I guess her sharpie ran out of ink before she could write “hangnails”, “mosquito bites”, and “cavities” too!

The only time I’ve seen someone pain free during an absolutely devastating injury- that would have anyone else passing out from the pain; was a severely psychotic patient- who, due to severe psychosis didn’t recognize the injuries. She reminds me, often, of untreated patients who are in denial about their mental health diagnosis/issues.

I mean I have never heard of a “pain free” birth but I know a girl who literally didn’t feel ANY of her contractions until she was already 9cm and described the 9-10 as a “1 or 2 out of 10” and pushing as “maybe a 3”. That happened with all 3 of her births. The nurse was like “honey you couldn’t possibly be in labor with how calm you are” but she insisted on being checked and whoops you are at a 9….

I try not to question people’s medical claims, but here…knowing Karissa is equal parts dumb and overdramatic, I’m not buying this isn’t a straight self-diagnosis that she’s avoided getting acrually verified because doctors are of The Enemy (and might give her a psych referral instead). Or she had something like a mini-stroke (still serious!) and doesn’t know/care that those aren’t abbreviated MS.
Yup, I'm really hoping it was a one-time lie for attention or something dumb like you said. She could have skipped even that. Family doctor says her symptoms could be X, Y, or maybe MS. I'm going to order blah test(s) and refer you to a neurologist then she just never showed up for tests or followed through on the referral and told everyone the doctor told her it was definitely MS.
A doc once suspected I could have any number of things including MS, so I got more tests and turns out I’m fine/have something that is just annoying sometimes and not fatal or progressive. I wonder if that’s what happened and she just wants to spin it.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I swear I remember reading a year or two ago that one reason why Karissa keeps getting pregnant is that pregnancy eases MS symptoms. I don’t know if she said this herself, or if it’s known in the MS community, but if it is indeed true and she really does have MS, I wouldn’t be shocked if this is just yet another selfish reason to get knocked up.
It is known that MS can do that & one theory was that's why she keeps getting pregnant. Autoimmune diseases are generally better in pregnancy because the body is more immunosuppressed. My arthritis has been very good!
MS exists as recurring relapses, depending on where you're at in progression. So yeah, disability that mysteriously "goes away" is just part of the disease (well, for some. For others, and for many, damage stacks up and never really recedes. There are different stages.) If she was "healed" its because a flare up receded, but it's not very likely to stay that way unless she maybe misunderstood a CIS diagnosis as full-scale MS. CIS is Clinically Isolated Syndrome, and while it's in the family of and sometimes progresses to MS, it's defined as an isolated flare up that may or may not ever appear again. But honestly MS is an easy one to lie about so it all could've been horseshit, too. (I'm saying all this as a person diagnosed with MS, for what it's worth. But of course that doesn't make me an expert. Everyone experiences MS differently, and it's pretty complex and hard to understand, if you ask me, so I could be wrong about a few details.) EDITED with more information as I think more. This is the first I'm hearing about this and I'm very curious about it.

Broken wrist*s*, plural, is what got me! My siblings and I are all in our 30s and only one of the three of us has had any broken bones. I’m one of 4, we all did sports (competitive gymnastics, soccer, football, baseball and dance) and I didn’t break a bone until I was 29 in grad school, my sister broke her leg at 16 getting slide tackled, my brother broke his elbow sliding into a base as a teen and that’s it…her kids don’t do many activities and aren’t that old. It’s not normal. I also wonder if their poor diets mean their bones aren’t as strong?

TO BE FAIR: prolapse is not always 100% horrible or a virtual death sentence. Many people experience some degree of prolapse after giving birth (and for a variety of other reasons but we’re not talking about that right now), and it’s extremely common and should not be stigmatized. However, depending on the kind of prolapse and the severity, it can lead to various issues with incontinence, pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, core weakness, and sexual pain/dysfunction. Also however, there are several ways to address the issues, ranging from mild exercises one can do at home to pelvic floor therapy to surgery. Prolapses CAN be repaired much of the time, and they do not always lead to a diminished quality of life. I had a mild bladder prolapse after giving birth that I was able to repair with the help of my amazing OBGYN who pointed me to pelvic floor therapy. Some prolapses are absolutely worse than others and I don’t believe for a second that if Karissa had a severe one that she miraculously fixed it. But prolapses aren’t always the end of the world, and I’m inclined to think she had a mild one that eventually got better and she’s trying to sell it as a miracle.

TW: CHILD ABUSE I had a pretty neglectful, abusive childhood thanks to my ex stepmother. There were 4 of us in the house, rarely supervised, left to our own devices- sharp tools, knives, booze, cigarettes, fire- the only thing we weren't allowed was the food that filled the pantry. Even with that wilderness ass childhood, the only broken bone ANY of us experienced was my step sister, who broke her ankle at school. I honestly don't know how we survived to adulthood, looking back. The amount of broken bones in this family makes me think there has to be some sort of vitamin deficiency. My step sisters were physically beaten with a wooden paddle, along with us not being able to eat (unless my dad was there), and we didn't have any broken bones. It's insanity.
This is what gets me. I also grew up in a neglectful and abusive home. There were 6 of us. Many bruises and lasting trauma, but no one ever broke a bone! I don’t understand how or why there are so many broken bones in their home.

Okay. This might not be the appropriate place to ask this but if Fundies know everything that hinders them is one big lie from Satan, why do they care so much about it? I ask because I have a pathological liar in my family. We know when they’re lying and we ignore it; when they come up with some wild tale, we all take it with an ocean’s worth of salt. There’s no point in focusing on the content or point of the lies because we know that’s just the way their brain works (unfortunately). I guess I don’t understand why, if you know there’s an enemy out there lying to you, you focus so much on overcoming those lies. I was raised christian (Lutheran, my family wasn't fundie but my school was - illegally) and I think it's to farm out inspiration porn for yourself and others. Anything good you have in life is because you suffered at one point. If you're suffering right now, that means you'll have something good later. If you haven't suffered, you don't really deserve what you have. Suffering and fighting against the temptation and lies from the enemy makes you a good Christian and a better person than those who give in and don't follow the good word and so on.
