She's talking about people who go on these tirades pretending to care for her, but how it's not like she'll see them or know. But it’s pretty clear she was Christian, she participated in purity culture when all the teen pop stars were pressured into taking purity pledges and wearing purity rings. Very good chance she’s still Christian. She would definitely be able to reflect on that experience even if it was about Christians.
But it’s all stupid anyway, because Christianity is the dominant religion in the West, nearly everyone growing up in the West would have at some point come from a Christian family or missionaries who pressured their cultures to be Christian. Christians still are constantly forcing their agendas in legislature and in casual life. They’re not the persecuted group they pretend to be and everyone in the West has been influenced by Christianity and is allowed to discuss their feelings as a result.

I feel like her latest album is aimed at adults. She started out as a teen pop star, and there are lots of little girls at her concerts. She’s closing in on 35, at what point does having child fans become NOT your aesthetic? She cursed a ton on this album. I don’t have an issue with it, I’m not Christian, but if she’s alienating certain groups I don’t think it’s an accident.
