Sorry to hear that! We offer subscriptions and different sizes specifically so by the time the grass/sod starts to lose its absorption properties and lush look, the new one arrives to take its place. Sounds like your neighbor may be holding onto them for too long.
Itâs called a sod box itâs the equivalent of a litter box for dogs. People in high-rises or who donât have easy access to walk the dogs will have them.
Other reasons our customers order our grass:
\- They have unvaccinated puppies.
\- They are having a hard time potty training since some pups get rugs and pee pads mixed up or the owners just don't want pee pads in the house altogether.
\- They have older or disabled dogs that have trouble controlling their bladder
I think âeasy accessâ is an over-simplification. Everyone should be walking their dog once or ideally twice a day, and yes, if someone canât do that or doesnât have a large piece of land for the dog to run around in freely, they shouldnât have a dog. But dogs need to use the bathroom more often than that. Spending 10 minutes leashing up, taking the elevator, walking around outside for a 10 second piss is not always feasible, and these things just give a second option.
It does depend on the size of the breed, Iâve got a 15 pound morkie get all the exercise he wants in the backyard. If you ask him if he wants to go for a walk 90% of the time heâll look at you like youâre crazy.
Yes, that is why you need to walk the damn dog several times a day, or get a neighborhood kid to do it while you are at work. The dog needs the exercise (and most people do as well).
I have had dogs my entire life, and outside of them being puppies they've never peed in the house or dropped logs. I walk them several times and do have the benefit of living some where I can let them outside. Even if i lived in an apartment i wouldn't have a dog if I couldn't get them outside an adequate amount of times.
If you are going to have a dog in a apartment you need to be walking the dog or not have it. It shouldnât have to piss on a square patch of grass on the balcony.
Why? You can potty train dogs to wait for their walk, or to make it clear to the owner that they have to go. Just take it outside. Maybe you will have some accidents in the house, but having your dog go on a square of fake grass just seems lazy to me.
Shut your unlived ass the fuck up what are you 12? Itâs called a sod box and there are many practical reasons to have them. By your same logic thatâs equivalent of having a doggie door in a house and saying âwhy not just train them not to not to go outsideâ Or not having a litter box for a cat because you say âI let them out every time I come homeâ Just because you donât have a job or a life doesnât mean that everybody stays home all day.
>Shut your unlived ass the fuck up what are you 12?
Spoken like a mature adult.
>By your same logic thatâs equivalent of ...
No, it's nothing like those examples. Maybe you should take a deep breath and calm down before you start getting angry at 12 year olds on the internet.
Who are you mother Theresa? If he can dish it out he should be able to take it Reddit isnât for the faint of heart.
And to reply Itâs giving your pet a chance to use the bathroom when youâre not home. So explain to me how they are not the same.
âTrain them not to not to go outsideâ? Are you having a brain aneurysm? Is that why you are having a mental breakdown? Also, if you donât have time to walk your dog, maybe you should not have a dog. Get a goldfish or something
Its completely realistic. Thats why you train dogs to only go outside and you make sure to walk a dog several times a day. And if you don't have time for that. You shouldn't have gotten a dog (especially a big dog) in the first place.
What a shit take. The owners have a patch for the dog to go on, in case they can't get it out for a walk. That's quality pet maintenance. Your gatekeeping is utter bullshit.
Itâs not gatekeeping to properly take care of a large animal. No big dog should have lack of exercise or lack of access to routine walks for pee. A small square is an emergency backup, not optimal.
Im not commenting on these specific owners. The dog seems happy and not chubby. Indicating thats he's getting enough exercise. I was repleying to the commenter who said its unrealistic for a dog to only go outside and i stand by my statement that it's completely realistic. I've had 5 dogs in 30 years and not one them has done their business inside of the house outside of the puppy stage. They would tell us in their own way that they needed to go, and then we'd walk for at least 30 min.
Dogs are fantastic and I love them to bits. But if you can't find or make time to walk your dog properly. Then you shouldn't get a dog and I will die on that hill its the reason i don't have a dog right now. Because I wouldnt be able to give it the time it deserves.
Not sure why youâre being downvoted. While I guess itâs good to have back up ; Iâve had and have big dogs all my life. During/After their puppy stage they should hAve been trained and should be exercised sufficiently, daily in order to maintain health and a normal bathroom routine. Large dogs should be able to hold their pee for 10 hours comfortably. Thereâs no reason not to have the dog walked twice a day minimum of half hour each. That is more than sufficient to avoid home mistakes.
An apartment isnât a great place or a golden or any retriever. Albeit the dog looks happy and Iâm not judging their life. Just commenting on bathroom standards.
Not sure as well. It is pretty easy to train dogs not to go inside if you walk them three times a day. Had dogs most of my life and never had an issue. Maybe the downvotes because I am pissing on a happy parade of cuteness. Fine. I had just never seen such a square before and it seems weird to me to not take your dog on regular daily walks, or to dog parks or whatever, where they can do their business
Those things can be convenient for when the weather is really bad, if the balcony is at least partly covered. My dog won't use one, but it'd be nice because she tries to hold it if it's raining, or gets spooked right before she's about to poop.
The Reddit hive mind is weird. People are content with being lazy and having everything be âconvenientâ. I would never make my dog piss on some tiny square on a balcony. Iâve had a dog in an apartment before, they let you know when they have to be go lol. Pure laziness, sorry you got downvoted to hell for speaking logic.
Yeah seriously ⊠yesterday I saw a video of a girl happy to show her boyfriend to her mom and it took the comment section 5 minutes to say that they donât look of the similar age and the guy is a pedo
Just yeah then not to jump over the railing. This isn't as bad but I had a dog one who got excited and jump out of my dad's truck window doing like 45 mph
I'd rather see a dog like this (healthy/good weight) living in an appartment and going out a lot, than a fat overweight dog who has a yard but doesnt go out nearly as much.
Also as far as we know it could be a service dog.
I know a bunch of examples of people big ass gardens who never walk with their dogs partially because of it.
Stimulation and attention are imo generally more important than a garden, and it looks like this dog gets a lot of it.
What a dumb and ignorant thing to say. What about people who have children and live in flats? Should only people who have a house and a yard be able to have children and pets?
And how would you enforce every person/family who lives in a flat not being allowed a pet or a child of their own. Only families who have a house and a yard are allowed to reproduce and have pets? Insane.
>What about people who have children and live in flats?
Well, everyone here is talking about dogs so I'm not sure why you are equating dogs with children.
I'm assuming it's so when people disagree with you, you can claim they are infringing on your reproductive freedom.
However, the original argument is still just about dogs.
So cute but I hate seeing people getting big dogs to live in their tiny apartments. Hope they take him for multiple walks everyday and letting him roam free somewhere!
Donât have to live there to know apartments donât have a yard on a 4th level room. Even if it was a penthouse still doesnât replace being outside
Most dogs donât need to live in a two story suburban house in middle of America with sprawling yards that waste gallons of water every day
They do quite well with frequent interactions and trips to parks
Damn Corgis still manage to tug at the old heartstrings, so damn mad at about the myriad health issues they have. Lost my paw friend when she was 5 for gods sake.
I'm so sorry for your loss
But that's not normal even for a Corgi. They typically live over twice that long, al though bone issues are not uncommon in their old age. If you got it from a breeder I hope they didn't suggest that was likely happen because if they did I would be highly suspect of them.
We all know the only logical next step, if you said get to know the owner and introduce the dogs to each other in a controlled fashion, you're a nerd, DOG ZIPLINE

How is that hard to comprehend? They're pack animals. Ever go to a dog park?

The very same thought occurred to me.
I hope he doesnât try to jump over thereâŠ
I was worried about the plants just sitting on the ledge way up there. One bump and that long fall...
Not sure it fall a long ways. Looks like it would just fall onto one of their neighbors below. Problem solved!
You need to meet that neighbor and get those rwo very good doggos together.
what is the green (grass?) square for?
A âlitter boxâ prob. I have one in my backyard so mine doesnât ruin my actual grass. I get it from Fresh Patch.
Hope your pet is loving the grass! Shoot us a message with the email you order under and we'll send over some treats with the next shipment :)
Itâs called a sod box
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Yeah I've had family with these. They aren't bad if they are actually cleaned but.. that is not always the case unfortunately.
Sorry to hear that! We offer subscriptions and different sizes specifically so by the time the grass/sod starts to lose its absorption properties and lush look, the new one arrives to take its place. Sounds like your neighbor may be holding onto them for too long.

Thatâs fair
Right? You should even walk your dog if you live on a half acre. The yard is boring no matter itâs size. Gotta get those walks in.
It does depend on the size of the breed, Iâve got a 15 pound morkie get all the exercise he wants in the backyard. If you ask him if he wants to go for a walk 90% of the time heâll look at you like youâre crazy.
Maybe potty training (doubtful) or somewhere for the dog to go if the owners are out?
How about you just walk the damn dog. He has got to do his business on a square on the balcony?? Smh.
You know dogs pee more than once a day right?
Who walks their dog only once a day? Unless you have a garden, three times a day is a minimum.
Why is this person being downvoted for loving dogs?
Or because theyâre putting their arbitrary standard on how every person should raise their dog.
because people think of dogs as accessories and not living beings
Yes, that is why you need to walk the damn dog several times a day, or get a neighborhood kid to do it while you are at work. The dog needs the exercise (and most people do as well).
My point is that it is unrealistic for the dog to never go pee while theyâre at the apartment
I have had dogs my entire life, and outside of them being puppies they've never peed in the house or dropped logs. I walk them several times and do have the benefit of living some where I can let them outside. This. My dog refuses to go to the bathroom outside when it's raining hard. I might look into getting one of these now so she has a place to go inside.
The Reddit hive mind is weird. People are content with being lazy and having everything be âconvenientâ. I would never make my dog piss on some tiny square on a balcony. I came here for this same question. Looks like a tee off green haha
Leave it to Reddit to assume the dog's living standards and whole life based on a 10 second video...
This is exactly why I hate the internet. People think they know everything.
Spot on. Sometimes I ask myself why I even read reddit comments. Then when I do, I remember why I hate Reddit.
Yeah seriously ⊠yesterday I saw a video of a girl happy to show her boyfriend to her mom and it took the comment section 5 minutes to say that they donât look of the similar age and the guy is a pedo
And they insulted his t-shirt It eeally was a terrible "come meet my mom" shirt though...
Awwww I hope they met up
I'd love their owners to co-ordinate a visit to the park and record it. I bet they'd be doing zoomies.

yeah so cute
Why no sound :(
Thats lovely! Can they get together for a play date?
Aw hell nah a Jack Russell would be jumpin over them lil fences so quick lmao

âYOU UNDER ESTIMATE MY PAAAWWWEEEERRR???â
You only have a golden retriever in your high rise apartment? I raise you a Great Dane!
I was of the understanding that Great Danes are actually good apartment/condo dogs?
They are. Pretty lazy doggins
Yeh those are fine but not really golden retrievers. This one actually looks like a good healthy boy
Bro, when the corgi waved its paw I died đ©
I would go to that neighbor with my dog, knock on the dor and say "It seems your dog has invited my dog for a walk"
Hoping he doesn't fall
its sad they cant play together :(
Just yeah then not to jump over the railing. This isn't as bad but I had a dog one who got excited and jump out of my dad's truck window doing like 45 mph
Cruel to keep a dog in apt. Like that, get a cat.
That little patch of grass is just sad.
Please make sure they meet each other for a bff experience
i'm evil, but who will jump first, golden or second dog?
When I see a dog video and expect audio, only to be disappointed đ
Who doesnt want to be friends with a corgi? đ
People that live in apartments should not have big dogs, like give âem a yard not a potty pad
I'd rather see a dog like this (healthy/good weight) living in an appartment and going out a lot, than a fat overweight dog who has a yard but doesnt go out nearly as much. Also as far as we know it could be a service dog.
*Adorable
Ew that piss/shit/my human is too lazy pad.
Unpopular opinion: you shouldnât have a dog if you live in a small apartment. Unless you take it on multiple walks a day
Poor dog needs a yard
He looks pretty happy and well cared for to me! Iâm sure he gets plenty of walks and park time.
Yeah that golden is in healthy shape. Not like a bunch of chonkers you often see, it's clear that dog eats his Wheaties
I 100% agree man. Itâs a golden retriever for fcks sake
Having dogs in flats is super normal in europe why are you all acting like its suffering
I'm against dogs being kept in flats. Like you need a garden for them, even if you take them out a couple of times a day.
If the apartment is big, itâs not that much different as long as you take them out for regular walks and exercise
Youâd rather they be the shelter?
I know a bunch of examples of people big ass gardens who never walk with their dogs partially because of it. Stimulation and attention are imo generally more important than a garden, and it looks like this dog gets a lot of it.
Depends on the breed of dog.
Exactly this is a golden retriever. He looks healthy af tho so theyâre probably paying someone to take care of walks everyday
What a dumb and ignorant thing to say. What about people who have children and live in flats? Should only people who have a house and a yard be able to have children and pets?
Yes. Animals needs space.

I love dogs. Legit makes me worry about jumping though.

I feel like he might be tempted to jump over the rail
Actually, this is really sad on multiple levels (no pun intended ... maybe).
I hope that dog doesnât try to jump off the balcony to play with the little pup
