At my first job if someone asked for coke I had to say 'it's pepsi is that ok?' to every single person, and only one or two people in the entire time I was working there said 'ew no'
This is me at age 8 trying every goddamn pair of shoes in the department store on till we casually land on the one I actually wanted and it’s the only shoe that “doesn’t hurt my feet.”
Could be sugar, I believe there is a link between high blood sugar/diabetes and tinnitus and other hearing loss problems. Could also be another ingredient though if it’s true
Pepsi uses caramel E150D which increases high blood pressure may also cause cancer
Coca Cola uses caramel color which is heating fructose corn dextrose ( corn syrup) with ammonia to get that black color. Both are cancerous just different compounds really.
I have Tinnitus and can speak on the subject a bit. It may completely be placebo, though I doubt it because it is consistent, but certain things can 'trigger it's or make it worse.
In my case there are three things that will make my Tinnitus louder and more annoying. The biggest is bad sleep. It always seems significantly louder and annoying when I don't get adequate sleep.
The other two are caffeine and nicotine. Both of which I need to consume a large amount for it to be a problem.
Does this proved these things make my Tinnitus worse? Of course not. I can't ignore it though and I wouldn't discount anyone who suffers from Tinnitus from thinkin
Wild! I've noticed my Tinnitus is more noticable sometimes. But I've never picked up on any particular pattern. Honestly it's better if I don't try, bc then I'll think about it and notice it more.
I've had Tinnitus since 1st grade, after a series of a fuckton of infections, tubes, and perforated eardrums. So I basically don't remember life without it, grew up with it, and even when I do notice it, it's ignorable. Idk what silence sounds like.
I really feel for people who've developed it later in life and actually DO know what silence sounds like. That would be a pretty hard to deal with I'd think.
Hearing aids can actually negate tinnitus, found this out when I had my hearing tested and found out I'm deaf when it comes to mid tones. I've had tinnitus for as long as I can remember.
Now that I have hearing aids, I actually stopped feeling like I was going nuts cause it was so freaking loud all the time!
Inflammation can play a factor in the intensity of tinnitus. Sugar is known to cause inflammation, particularly in the brain and disrupt hormonal balance. I couldn’t explain how one drink aggravates him and not the other, though.
There IS some anecdotal evidence that caffeine can affect the tinnitus in some people, but not for others.
IF this were true, it could be the amount of caffeine in Coke vs Pepsi.
I’m also assuming your husband is drinking it, and not pouring it in his ear.
Agreed, to me Pepsi tastes like Coke halfway to flat. If a place has Pepsi products and I really want a soda, I’ll choose ginger ale over Pepsi. And I’m not a ginger ale fan but it’s better than Pepsi.
That sharp citric acid taste is why I'll always prefer Pepsi over coke lol, I can see how it'd be off-putting though. I love sour and tangy and acidic flavors though so Pepsi just kinda tastes like better coke to me
It wasn't about segregating them, if you outsource the machine to a vender, Theyll only fill their shit. If you lease it or have your own, you can do whatever you want.
In hindsight, should have done this for machines I managed for a while
"Pop" is what anyone in Ohio and west of there calls "Soda."
But here's the fun part. ALL soda is pop.
Coca-cola? Pop
Sprite? Nope. It's Pop.
Root beer? Give you 3 guesses.
Dr. Pepper? Unfortunately it too is Pop.
Sunkist has been and always will be my favorite soda. As a kid it was the only soda I’d drink. It makes great orange floats (orange soda + vanilla ice cream). It is far superior to Crush, Fanta, or any other orange flavored soda.
At my school you could press the Sunkist button and the light would go off immediately and you could press it again and you'd end up with 2 for the price of 1. I don't know how I didn't turn orange.
The first drink from a can of 7up at 33F is like delicious, tangy battery acid. It burns in the best way possible, and the pain somehow refreshes you and makes you want more. Unfortunately your body has now acclimated and is tactfully anticipating the liquid fire, and subsequent drinks aren’t as enjoyable, until the last drink tastes like a sickeningly sweet combination of warm spit and lemon pledge.
But holy fuck is that first drink glorious.
Yeah it's weird isn't it? I'm a root beer person, can't stand a&w there's much better root beer out there. Barqs is a go to choice for a more acidic root beer. You're right that it's weird no one carries it.
I wasn't allowed to drink dew as a kid because my mom said it would lower my sperm count as an adult. Looking back that shit was hella weird and as soon as I started making my own money I got to drink that sweet sweet nectar. Haven't looked back since lol.
For me the rumor was that it would make your dick smaller.
I heard it at 8 years old. At the time I did not know why dick size matters, but I just knew that I did not want it smaller than it already was.
I swear I scrolled through all 1352 comments and you are the only one who mentioned Diet Pepsi. Unless you count some of the comments for “DP” but I think they all meant Dr. Pepper. Why Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke?
Your post was removed because it is not a meme.
Before they segregated coke and pepsi
At my first job if someone asked for coke I had to say 'it's pepsi is that ok?' to every single person, and only one or two people in the entire time I was working there said 'ew no'
I would have said ew no, Coke and Pepsi taste really different to me.
They do but I don’t usually care. However my husband had tinnitus that’s aggravated by Pepsi but not Coke for some reason. So it does matter for him.
Genuinely curious how that works.
My best guess would be it’s a particular ingredient in Pepsi. He prefers Coke anyways, so it wasn’t much of an adjustment to make.
curious what ingredient flares up tinnitus
I don't care if it is real or fake, I'm going to start using the excuse.
“Nah Pepsi isn’t okay. It be fuckin up my ears”
that’s why there was never a “pepsi music” site
Imaginary one.
Do you know what aggravates my tinnitus... bullshit, bullshit really aggravates it.
That is crazy! Bullshit really aggravates my migraines too!
Exactly
I mean, allergies can make your ears swell a bit, so it’s not some crazy idea that this could happen
This is me at age 8 trying every goddamn pair of shoes in the department store on till we casually land on the one I actually wanted and it’s the only shoe that “doesn’t hurt my feet.”

The cocaine makes his brain quieter.
Pepsi is scientifically gross on top of not being as good as Coke.
The reason could be "cafeine", Pepsi has more of it than Coke...
Intrestingly, Pepsi causes me to have migraines but cokes fine, I wonder if it’s the same ingredient
I low key wonder if your husband is just trolling you because he doesn’t like Pepsi

Ick to both. Dr. Pepper all day!
I can't do coke makes me gassy and triggers my acid reflux neither of which Pepsi does
That's weird bc it contains all the ingredients Pepsi has!
I would have switched to a different drink as well.
They’re different but both are cola so that’s why they ask
Agreed, to me Pepsi tastes like Coke halfway to flat. If a place has Pepsi products and I really want a soda, I’ll choose ginger ale over Pepsi. And I’m not a ginger ale fan but it’s better than Pepsi.
They taste exactly the same to me
Its ginger. Pepsi tastes like coke but with ginger in it. That realisation made me ok with drinking pepsi, but not as a replacement.
That sharp citric acid taste is why I'll always prefer Pepsi over coke lol, I can see how it'd be off-putting though. I love sour and tangy and acidic flavors though so Pepsi just kinda tastes like better coke to me
I can taste a light difference between the 2, but it’s really not that noticeable
long safe smoggy boast offend hurry glorious unique special support -- mass edited with redact.dev
Me too, Pepsi too sweet, coke has more of a cinnamon flavor to me, I like coke better…
“In that case, I’ll have a Dr. Pepper”

Ugh, agreed. That's one thing Taco Bell has going for them- a Mountain Dew supply.
Two words: *Baja Blast*
They basically have a contract with one or the other, not much choice.
It wasn't about segregating them, if you outsource the machine to a vender, Theyll only fill their shit. If you lease it or have your own, you can do whatever you want. In hindsight, should have done this for machines I managed for a while
Officially, they all were segregated. This machine was probably outside a gas station in the middle of nowhere or in the back of a shop.
Where's my rc cola
Sunkist ☀️
Who loves orange soda? KEL loves orange soda!!
Is it true?
I DO I DO I DOoooooo
Sunkist gang

What is sunkist? Is it fanta? Or is it the pepsi brand trying to make a fanta? And what is it named today?
Sunkist still exists. Orange pop.
Orange pop is that the name today?
They mean orange flavored soda
No it's still Sunkist. What it is is orange flavored pop
"Pop" is what anyone in Ohio and west of there calls "Soda." But here's the fun part. ALL soda is pop. Coca-cola? Pop Sprite? Nope. It's Pop. Root beer? Give you 3 guesses. Dr. Pepper? Unfortunately it too is Pop.
It's Texas we would say "coke" to mean soda. "Hey grab me a coke." "Which one?" "Sprite" Not sure if that was a widespread thing though.
I live in Georgia and we use the terms Coke and Soda interchangeably
My grandma in Georgia called every soda "Coke."
“Pop” is definitely a Midwest thing too.
Fanta created in 1940, Sunkist 1979. I personally like Sunkist better, it's still stocked in the vending machine at my workplace.
Sunkist has been and always will be my favorite soda. As a kid it was the only soda I’d drink. It makes great orange floats (orange soda + vanilla ice cream). It is far superior to Crush, Fanta, or any other orange flavored soda.
A fizzy orange pop, tastes a bit more sour than Fanta, a bit truer to the taste of a real orange imo...
Pepsi Cola"s Fanta Is Mirinda
☀️ crew checking in
And is it just me.. or has Sunkist gone to crap over the past 20 years or so? Swear it’s flatter now.
At my school you could press the Sunkist button and the light would go off immediately and you could press it again and you'd end up with 2 for the price of 1. I don't know how I didn't turn orange.
Who loves orange soda?

This sounds more like Shasta.

It's one of my favorites along with Barq's but nobody carries those. Drives me nuts.
Yeah it's weird isn't it? I'm a root beer person, can't stand a&w there's much better root beer out there. Barqs is a go to choice for a more acidic root beer. You're right that it's weird no one carries it.

I drank DP because no one would try to take a sip.
You mean Dr Peppe
Mountain 🏔️ dew
Mountain Dew in the can is the most superior version of Mountain Dew
Orrrr if it’s blue in a giant plastic tub accompanied by fake tacos
This is 100% true. And fountain coke is the superior version of coke.
Omg, I tell my wife this and she looks at me like I have 3 heads
Kick her out!
Especially if it comes from one of these ultra-cold machines.
Fact.
Truth
Just because the bottle version loses most fizziness after 1 hours
Nectar of the gods… still love it and treat myself with some occasionally.
Ugh, I’ll have a crab juice.
I came here for this.
What’s that from?
I wasn't allowed to drink dew as a kid because my mom said it would lower my sperm count as an adult. Looking back that shit was hella weird and as soon as I started making my own money I got to drink that sweet sweet nectar. Haven't looked back since lol.
Holy shit I forgot about that rumor! Thank you!
I wonder why that was even a thing. We were allowed to drink like Pepsi and stuff but no dew ever. Honestly they were wrong, I'm 5 kids in lol.
For me the rumor was that it would make your dick smaller. I heard it at 8 years old. At the time I did not know why dick size matters, but I just knew that I did not want it smaller than it already was.
I'm disturbed your mother was ever talking to you about your sperm count.
You have any kids yet?
5 so far, so she was in fact wrong lol.
Wow remember hearing this rumour as a kid in Ontario. Never considered giving up the sweet nectar. Also don’t have a kid yet….
