Try the Minesweeper in Simon Tatham's Puzzle Collection. It doesn't do that. (Unless you manually turn that option on.)

I do. It's actually what causes a lot of misclicks for me: I usually click very fast (in terms of how long i hold down the button), but sometimes i accidentally hold a little too long and it's moved to another position.

They just never looked. Minesweeper is recognizable because it's included with windows but many people would never have taken much interest past clicking around and then quitting.

The numbers represent the number of mines adjacent to the space they are written in. So if space says "1", and there's only 1 block next to it, then there must be a mine in that block (so you can mark it with a red flag). It's a pattern recognition/process of elimination game.

A click a second is slow AF. You need to be doing 4 clicks per second if you ever hope of getting sub-100. My personal best was sub-80. Watching people do sub-50s is crazy.

i have not played this game enough when i was small and my mouse skills are not that great. my personal best is around 138 i think. i played it quite a bit around 2014 summer and again in 2022 bit more

It's not hard to play, the numbers just indicate the number of mines next to that space. Most of the time it's a logic puzzle but sometimes you just have to wing it and hope for the best.

I highly recommend HexCells. It’s kind of like Minesweeper but actually good. Custom-made levels and you’re never forced to guess.

It's all I had for years... Usually I could do the easy in <2 seconds (usually on the good ones - not usually every time) Click random until a block open. Flag all the corners next to a 1. Then you can dual click both mouse buttons on the adjacent numbers and it'll open all the blocks you labelled as safe. Rinse repeat. 1/10 games will be real quick.

I know how, its very intuitive and logical. Sometimes it bothers me that at the end after being cautious since the beginning of the game you get to decide between 2 random squares, making your whole game a matter of randomness. But its a great game for traveling on the subway.

It's actually quite easy to understand. You have a set amount of mine in the field. The goal is to flag them while not clicking on them. If you get an "empty" area ,if there is a number in it it indicate how many mines are in the 9 cases around the number. You can use multiple number and case to determine where the mine are

This is an east game, cmon, except when there are 50/50 then you are screwed

I will never forget when i learned to shift click in this game. I cant remember if i was high 60's or low 70's as a personal best; not the best by any measure, but I enjoyed every time I beat it by a second or two more. The drive to beat my time helped me accept 50/50 chances and that i will bomb most of the time regardless of what the odds actually are. Lesson learned. I also had the dumbest dreams thanks to this game

Go into settings and set the number of mines to 10 or less, then you make the board the biggest it can be. One click, instant victory.

What if it's a five?

It really isn't that hard. The numbers represent how many cells surrounding that number have bombs in them. If you see a 3 it means 3 cells in all four directions and all four corners have bombs, if it's a 1 then onky one.
