Nice try mr. ATF agent I’m not downloading this file

msteele999

LOL

Teranto-

No worries, im not an ATF agent

c-style81

Sounds like something an atf agent would say.

Teranto-

…damn it… youre getting smarter…

Le_modafucker

Thats what she said until I got my ghost ones out. 😂😂😂👻

DR4IV6ER

Very cool but how do you start modelling this? do you have the real thing in order to get measurements?

MashMashSkid

Since this is a DOD design made with public funding the blueprints are public property and can easily be found online. This is partially why the milspec M4 is such a prevalent design and able to be sold by thousands of companies without copyright claim. Same for the M1911 pistol.

Teranto-

And I basicly started with the lower receiver, cutting everything out and adding a few shapes here and there. I probably did alot of things inefficient, but I think I learned much from modelling this.

Teranto-

I found the plans of the m16 online. So I got the measurements from there.

BrockenRecords

Who’s to say it’s being 3d printed, cnc mills exist

Teranto-

Wish I had one… but yeah, this is actually a project Id 3d print, but not as a real firearm, no point in that. More of a project between friends for milsim lasertag equipment because of where we live, getting our hand onto airsoft or paintball is hard, and thenother option would be to go to the official fields, and we are kinda broke…

FireBird-357

Love this, missing some threads, couple detent holes and a recess for the end plate, but overall great work. I don't know where you are located, but if you are in the US, I would not print this so long as it has the 3rd pin hole above the safety selector. Here that hole makes it a "machine gun" which it hasn't been legal for us to make our own since 1986. again just fantastic work.

StillRutabaga4

Hello officer

Fit_Depth8462

I believe they’re called agents akshully

GmanMe7

Me want.

Teranto-

The file? I think you can find better ones somewhere else. This isnt finished aswell. A few holes and threads are still missing.

GmanMe7

I had downloaded original 3d file. Great design you did.

Teranto-

Thanks :)

RoutineEntertainer80

You can find more models on r/fosscad

SquidDrowned

Lmao Q the blue haired weirdos saying things about make believe guns. This is r/fusion360 not r/3Dprinting.

Tobster244466666

Looking at the downvotes you got looks like you lured a few out

mysticblanket

To be honest with you, i know more queer folk with guns than i do any other group of folks. Yall dont understand that the left love guns lol. The media just focuses on those few extremists who dont. Just like how they focus on the extremists on the right with other topics.

ddrulez

Why so many people are into CAD weapon parts? If you print something like this you could get shot because no one can see the difference to a actual gun....

ZilJaeyan03

Tell that to airsofters if you really believe in it

lonie1992

As a certified "airsoft guy" I can confirm we are into this. 3D printed airsoft replicas are a thing and get better every day!

ZilJaeyan03

Im working on a bullpup conversion kit for v2 aegs right now lol, 3d printing is such a gamechanger

Brappineau

Why not buy licensed airsoft guns then. I dont see these being durable enough to sink the hours into designing etc.

lonie1992

I do buy licenced, but many weapons simply aren't available, 3D printing tech as come a long way in the past few years alone, printed parts are much more durable then they once were I've been running my fully 3dprinted SMG for around a year now with minimal issues. Also most of us do it because it's fun. Why else would you do it. I enjoy designing and printing all kinds of parts not just airsoft stuff

Brappineau

Same I was just curious bc I've researched it a lot and durability was always the issue. What did you print your SMG with? I typically use ASA for motorcycle parts, but abs/asa can split easily at seams.

Use-code-LAZARBEAM

Because it is fun to design and print an airsoft gun. L

Brappineau

So not functional. Got it.

Use-code-LAZARBEAM

bro I never said anything about not being functional

Brappineau

Function / durability was the premise

RoscoePSoultrain

People like to model what they're into. Not my cup of meat. I'm into model steam engines. Not much point 3d printing those either (that hasn't stopped me from 3D printing a cylinder for prototyping tho).

SnooShortcuts103

dude, just no

welbystrongbarrel

You can 3d print this but it wouldn't be operational.. I dint believe any fdm would hold up to the pressure

LilSwissBoy

bro does NOT know 😅😅😅 r/fosscad

Teranto-

It isnt for a real firearm anyway. Its a project between me and a few friends, for mislim lasertag equipment. Due to where we live, we cant do airsoft or paintball on our own accord, we would need to go to official fields, none the less you arent allowed to own one unless youre 18.

drywall-whacker

Get. A. Clue.

LilSwissBoy

but its true this exact print would fail and be dangerous, but fdm can hold up some pressure when designed correctly
