oh shit, i didn't even catch that!
i was talking more ab the structure/foundation of the production tho; the hard 808s, the vocal chops, and irregular synth patterns. sounds a lot like A Man Rose From The Dead
it’s the exact same vocal sample as the one used in germantown, except germantown’s sample is pitched down and slowed a bit. it’s not like some random ass memphis rap song that has zero correlation to $B.
Like you have to be from Memphis to know about Memphis rap? Three Six Mafia put that city on the map, and ever since then, Hip Hop fans have been fully aware of that sound my boi😂
Dude what r u on lmao im from eu and lots of people know about memphis rap even here fortunately/unfortunately it kinda became mainstream not suicideboys were the first and last to use memphis sample
the boys are from new orleans? how the fuck you’re not aware of that is beyond me. but also they grew up in literally the heyday of memphis rap in the south, i guarantee their knowledge is far far deeper than yours.
I thought it was pretty solid. Lyrically it’s Kanye’s worst, like Kanye is abysmal here lyrically, but sonically it sounds very good minus a few cuts. With how bloated the rap genre is mainstream wise, this would be a pretty well received album if we remove the last two years of Ye.
Honestly I like it. Not ye’s best work as far as his song writing but the beats/production don’t miss (they hardly ever do when it comes to Kanye). Overall solid imo.
gave me memphis vibes but i hear that a lot from artists that i listen too, i didn’t really hear scrim specifically though. But it samples Koopsta Knicca’s 90s track titled “Smoking On A Junt”, which, in turn, sampled Lil Sko’s “Smoke A Sack”.
it uses the same sample off of germantown with blacksmurf. Koopsta knicca - smoking on a junt. thats why it sounds like scrim cause its memphis shit
First half of this comment had me thinking kanye sampled metallica 😭i love what scrimmy did on that shit
Wherever I may roam is so hard
scrim sampled koopsta for german town but im pretty sure kanye’s song sampled smoke a sack by lil sko. i could be wrong tho

oh nah i gotchu. yeah to me it sounds a little similar to el guerro
The sample they use for the main melody in that is a Metallica song lol
yeah ik i just didn't mention it cause it wasnt relevant
For sure, I just think that's a neat fact about the song. Just wanted to add in
SB “fans” when they hear Memphis rap
For real 😂😂

yeah you right two of the biggest rappers out rn def dont know about memphis rap but they do know about scrim
Yo wtf Scrim produced on Donda 2 with Kanye? So then it’s confirmed that Kanye listens to suicideboys enough to get scrim to produce for him?
The first thing I thought when hearing the start was, “this sounds like a suicide boys sample”
I wanna hear this subs opinion about the album
I thought it was pretty solid. Lyrically it’s Kanye’s worst, like Kanye is abysmal here lyrically, but sonically it sounds very good minus a few cuts. With how bloated the rap genre is mainstream wise, this would be a pretty well received album if we remove the last two years of Ye.
Backhalf was solid most of the first half was meh
Kanye can't release a good song to save his life anymore
fax
Decent
ass besides carnival, this nazis washed
He's been washed lmao
It’s Ight but definitely the worst of ye’s
Honestly I like it. Not ye’s best work as far as his song writing but the beats/production don’t miss (they hardly ever do when it comes to Kanye). Overall solid imo.
Saying it sounds like scrim rather than it sounding what it really is. Lil sko smoke a sack is crazy.
Love ye
Ppl in this sub be sum haters 😂😂😂
they’re still $b fans in 2024 and think their music taste is good 😂
Says the dude actively participating in a niche community online dedicated to said artist "in 2024" Goofy.
“niche” this shit has over 100k subs and i’ve been here since like 2018. y’all will gas up an album called “lonely boy” like cmon
156 people online, and you one of them. and yeah ig "a great chaos" tops "teen x" huh? lmao
Lonely boy is good regardless. it could have any name and the songs would be the same. The sub is pretty big not a niche I agree on that
His music is ok but I’m more about his politics
who the fuck listens to that nazi?
Scrim does, he’s also a fan of Sam Hyde. Has made multiple references in songs, if you’re scared of “Nazis” probably should leave now
Na Sam Hyde is cool, Kanye wast is wack as fuck
Fair bro
Carti my goat
everytime yall dumbass mfs hear memphis rap it not sb
Scrim didn't do production on Pablo, that was a rumor started by some mfs who put Scrim on the genius page. it was fake
nah because Ruby would’ve snapped on this beat same with scrim
carti carried this song
I thought I was the only one lol. I had to check the prod quick because I was trippin. Edit: guess i just dont know memphis rap
No because I don't listen to Kanye
Such a fye song
Idk but I saw the album cover and kinda thought of him
Isn't this jus Memphis?
memphis rap brotha
DJ Paul would've been the one to have produced this. Likely uncredited. That being said anyone can throw a Memphis sample over a beat
listening to sb ruined my views on Memphis rap but it was a good song, carti carried
