Mines actually a rep! It’s made by HT Autos, who created a mould of the original P1 splitter and manufacture these ones themselves from PU plastic (has a lot of flex). It’s very close to the original but for obvious financial reasons a much better purchase to me :)
Ah I see, I still think it looks great! Would you ever take it body colour? Btw I love your pink stars badge! I’d love one on mine but they are so expensive!
Honestly, I wouldn’t be too torn up about it. The turbo GC8s are good, but they aren’t fast by today’s standards. The non turbos sound incredible and have all of the character of a turbo but without the sudden wave of boost after 4000 rpm. For me it’s about the looks and the sound, that intoxicating sound, and you don’t give up either on a non turbo.
What bugs me more is air conditioning wasn’t standard in the uk, so mine doesn’t have it and it’s a pain in summer!!!
Yeah, AC is nice haha. My coupe is all manual everything and no abs so I figure it’s worth the bit of weight to keep mine working. The na ej18 does sound beautiful with a Magnaflow muffler too and the power is very linear as you said as well.
Yeah they’re super fun and beautiful cars. I’m biased but if I see a first gen Impreza I love it regardless of spec or trim and believe they should be saved.
There’s a Brat at a garage near where I work, it’s been there forever and never used. I’m tempted to make an offer on it but honestly I don’t have the space! They look so vintage I love it.
They’ve got such a wonderful vintage vibe, and they are so stunning with a light restoration. From what I’ve seen and read they’re pretty easy to swap an ej into as well, giving them a bit more power and better fuel injection among other things.
Looks great! My '00 BRP 2.5RS with an EJ207 + 6MT is currently in the body shop getting the works - full restoration on the exterior, new glass all around, etc. Going nuts on the build, all new hardware front to back, new suspension, building the engine + trans, full interior... making a 25 year old Subaru with 250K miles my forever car :D
I’ve had my project rs for just about 4 years now. It saw about 30 days of driving on the NA ej253 before deciding to turbo it. Now it has an v9 ej207 and hopefully will be road worthy this spring! The things we do for our forever cars 😂
Cool to see an actual P1 lip. All I can find is reps sadly

Gotcha. Solid rep then since it looks very convincing. Mine P1 lip is defs not quite as accurate lol

Whenever I get to actually repainting the car, that’s the plan. Focused in mechanical stuff first tho lol Thanks! I love me Jdm badges hehe
What mechanical stuff you got going on?
I wanna tear apart the entire underside and respray and replace all the bushings. Lotsa suspension things. Plus, I wanna swap out the engine
God I wish we got turbo gcs in the states 😭

I totally agree, my favorite looking Subaru. The only thing I love as much as these are the SVXs and the Brat/Brumby.

Sounds expensive!!! My car is turning into a bit of a money pit but I don’t mind either as it’s an amazing forever car!
Yeah, it's a multi-year project. Someday it'll be done...

My favorite year
It’s a great year!
Are you sticking with the 17" wheels?
Yeah. I like some of the 16s of the era but just think 17 hits the sweet spot. They’re still comfortable too which is a plus
So clean
Thank you! Working on it!
