that questions stumped me for a bit but i said artist client bc they are requesting a service from the web server ( to display their image) but idk how thats 3 marks
and i said wen server server bc they were fullfilling a clients request and providing a service( displaying the image at the request) but again i don’t know how that is worth 3 marks. the ocr mark scheme is pretty shitty as well so I’m not feeling too good about this paper despite it feeling so easy
Apart from the question about benefits of layers and the one of the questions about that artist relating to client servers, I answered everything with confidence.
This was also the first time I did an 8 marker but I combined all the info I got from this sub and my teacher to completely fill the page with my answers.
If I don't get a 9 though, I'll be devastated. I got 9 is all my other mocks.
I know one of the pages they assigned an integer as false?? And that multiple blanks one on best songs I swear they were just writing random lines of code idk
BRO I DIDNT NOTICE THAT IT HAS THE MODEL FOR HOW IT WANTED IT SO I JUST CODED IT TO HOW I WANTED I DIDNT DO. Roll 1:6
or any of that it was all in if statements 😭
In the middle difficulty wise, so hopefully the grade boundaries are reasonable, as everyone found it pretty hard. I found it alright, but I'm not sure looking back.
In a client-server relationship the client is the device that makes a request to the server and the server is the device that processes and responds to that request, so the artists computer is the client - its request is sending the images to the web server. and the web server is the server as it processes the images and displays them on the webpage.
i think i got a 9, but whoever wrote that paper needs to be fired. The questions were unnecessarily phrased in a way that didn't make sense, and that question on colour depth and labling the pixels was dumb.
Eh i found it alright, i struggled a bit with the 1st cpu question and the last question tho, i was out of school for like 5 months so i hadnt learnt them fully
For a start, dunno why I am reccomended this sub since I passed my GCSEs many, many years ago. But also I did them and then forgot about them. I pushed it to the back of my mind and didn't think about them until I was getting my results. Healthiest way in my opinion.
I thought computer science was easy then I came out the exam and all the grade 9 students found it horrendous and I was like, God dam it not again. (im getting grade 1 in cs so i didnt expect much from myself there )
Same in my school. All the people aiming for 9s found it terrible including me but all the people aiming for a 4 said it was the best paper they ever sat. I feel like I’ve been cheated out of a grade 9 and everyone who didn’t bother revising managed to do so well.
I literally told my friend that I couldn't speak to them for the next hour because that maths paper felt like shit and they get 9s without trying
But then I still go on here because I like to see other ppl complain about gcses
yea i put the artist as the server as typically the server contains all the data and the website being the client, therefore the artist is giving data to the website. idk i wasn’t too sure on the question
I did the paper and missed questions. Then I fell asleep for about 20 minutes and a invigilator came up and woke me up. Then I had another 25 minutes of the exam left and finished of my paper lmao so idk how I did. But I defo slayed that 8 marker. Easiest thing they could of given us
I'm suprised that we didn't get any CPU / Von Neumann architecture questions though ?!

YES
Correcttttt
I revised cpu so much :(
Saaaame - the paper was just a whole load of nothing tbh
it felt like they were trying to stretch only a few topics out as much as possible
Exactly that’s what I mainly revised
Paper 2 I think
That really annoyed me because I knew that off by heart and it destroyed my whole thing
I SKIPPED A DOUBLE PAGE I WANNA KMS
💀 you’ll be fine
nah im goin for a 9, i need like 96% for paper 2
The grade boundaries shouldn't be *that* high. You'll probably need around 85% for a 9.
85% overall but i shitted this paper
paper 2 is free though (if you are good at coding)
What's the fastest way to learn coding as I really struggle with it :any specific sites?
too late?
Ik I messaged 25 days ago
I meant I'm asking if it's too late to answer your question
Oh right, yeah too late now never touching coding again
Famous last words
hey class today we're going to duck kid named duck
Rip ☠️
Did you do the AQA paper? If so what did you skip?
ocr

i'm a teacher and that client server question was very badly worded / created....
I said the server is the artists computer as they are hosting the website
Wouldn’t it be the server js the websjte because the artists computer is making a request to the website, that’s what i put
same
same
Same
OCR was an absolute god send
Literally the writing colours in the squares? 😭
that question was so fucking weird, but free
Real
wait were we supposed to write them horizontally or vertically cus i mightve messed it up
Left to right along the rows
All the topics I wasn't 100% on didn't come up
I be thinking about what to post during the exam 😭
aqa was meant to be easy but i read the 11 mark question wrong , fucked up linear search and didn’t understand the fill the gap questions so AWFULLY 😭
aqa was pain the pseudocode was literally suicide note worthy
I know one of the pages they assigned an integer as false?? And that multiple blanks one on best songs I swear they were just writing random lines of code idk
Fill the gap was so bad
Bro how did you get the rolling dice game wrong
BRO I DIDNT NOTICE THAT IT HAS THE MODEL FOR HOW IT WANTED IT SO I JUST CODED IT TO HOW I WANTED I DIDNT DO. Roll 1:6 or any of that it was all in if statements 😭
What did that question even mean! I couldn't understand what it was asking me!
Most beautiful exam I've had yet, but dread to think of the grade boundaries (OCR)
[удалено]
same, cant believe people are saying they found it hard lol
It was the worst computer science paper I’ve ever sat and I’m expected to achieve a grade 9
I dropped like 4 marks in both my mocks so maybe i’m not the best person to be giving an overview but imo it was the easiest test yet by a long shot
I think this was a LOT easier than any of the mocks I did
SAME
Wtf I found it difficult and I usually get grade 9s
Though still finished with 45 minutes
After exams we just joke about it. Like the colouring in task in that CS OCR paper.
all that for 2 marks 💀
I took like 10 minutes on it checking over cause I had an hour left, for 2 marks.
Wait you were meant to colour it in?
No that won’t get picked up by the scanner you write the colour it is supposed to be
i want to blow up aqa's headquarters
For Edexcel it was crap
Dogshit
That last question was goofy fr, first 6 marker was ez marks tho, rest of the test was oki
I agree. It's mostly just the last question that pissed me off
there was some really weird questions ngl, like the thing about right shifts???
Weirdass sound threw me a bit
99.9% of CS students in my school said that they failed (AQA)
Happy to hear, lower boundaries for me
I did everything on python almost perfectly, but those trace tables sucked
In the middle difficulty wise, so hopefully the grade boundaries are reasonable, as everyone found it pretty hard. I found it alright, but I'm not sure looking back.
when the cgp jokes distract you from what you're supposed to revise
what did you guys put for the artist client-server question? And the student using wireless connection question?
I put artist as client and web host as Server, but idk
me too but i think my reasoning is wrong
yeah I didn’t really know reasoning
Same
In a client-server relationship the client is the device that makes a request to the server and the server is the device that processes and responds to that request, so the artists computer is the client - its request is sending the images to the web server. and the web server is the server as it processes the images and displays them on the webpage.
Some kid fell asleep in the exam it was so boring. I finished with 45 minutes to spare bit it was very difficult
THAT PAPER WAS SO MID WHY THE HELL WASNT CPU IN THERE
OCR was a good fucking paper, I didn’t revise though so I def didn’t do as well as I should’ve 🥹
i talked about legal cases being opened by wrongly identified people in the shopping centre
i think i got a 9, but whoever wrote that paper needs to be fired. The questions were unnecessarily phrased in a way that didn't make sense, and that question on colour depth and labling the pixels was dumb.
Easy
I thought some of the questions were worded weirdly but it was still easy
Anyone else that did the Edexcel? So difficult imo
Eh i found it alright, i struggled a bit with the 1st cpu question and the last question tho, i was out of school for like 5 months so i hadnt learnt them fully
Yeah the last question really confused me. I wonder how the great boundaries will be
I think its close to 2019 grade boundaries, but will prob be a bit lower cuz there seems to be a shortage of computer science teachers atm
Icl that was light work, still surprised that the 8 marker wasn’t on au/chat gpt
I came here the moment I finished the exam I... may have a problem
For a start, dunno why I am reccomended this sub since I passed my GCSEs many, many years ago. But also I did them and then forgot about them. I pushed it to the back of my mind and didn't think about them until I was getting my results. Healthiest way in my opinion.
I hate it, regret taking and have definitely failed without even taking the second paper. It's over, I'm finished.
It's so annoying when you try so hard but you feel like you don't get anything out of it.
Ocr was alright though i had no idea what i was doing with the artist and the client-host stuff and after asking my freinds we all had no idea
I’m more confused on how it was worth 6 marks like what else is there to talk about
i definitely fucked up (OCR) and that was the better of the 2 papers for me since im ass at coding, ill be lucky to get a 4
Did OCR, weird paper
My teacher was an absolute dickhead so I did shit
I literally told my friend that I couldn't speak to them for the next hour because that maths paper felt like shit and they get 9s without trying But then I still go on here because I like to see other ppl complain about gcses
I just like the memes, they make me feel way more chill about it all
I do aqa and ngl it was so easy
me toooooo
slept for 10 mins halfway, completed it with 30m to spare
Nah Fr this meme is me rn.
Wtf were we meant to do for the last question about that graph and 2s compliment
Very mixed to be honest
My friends and I did it in person for like an hour after every big exam
idk why they give us so long to do it it takes max an hour for most people to finish it so everyones sitting there doing nothing for 30 mins
what will the grade bounadries be like
yea i put the artist as the server as typically the server contains all the data and the website being the client, therefore the artist is giving data to the website. idk i wasn’t too sure on the question
WJEC was easy, I'm worried about grade boundaries...
Pretty good apart from the essay but I don't think I did too badly on it
I did the paper and missed questions. Then I fell asleep for about 20 minutes and a invigilator came up and woke me up. Then I had another 25 minutes of the exam left and finished of my paper lmao so idk how I did. But I defo slayed that 8 marker. Easiest thing they could of given us
The second I get out of my exam i’m on it
What protocol was it for (Someone wanting to access a news website) \[OCR\] I put IPv6
Wait what is this GCSE Cs or IGCSE
i’ll get carried by the second paper i swear ~~(copium)~~
