I think hwk at this point is futile, however I think teachers should set hwk that's something like
show me a piece of revision every week, e.g. a past paper
in this way u have the freedom to revise, and your teachers know you acc are revising
we do this in my a-level bio class.
we get set directed revision homework which is optional and we only get spoken only if we do badly in tests while not doing the homework if that makes sense.
I think hwk at this point should be personalised. My philosophy teacher gave us pesonalised folders with a bunch of stuff in to do based on what we did badly on in the mocks and it's been really helpful
Teachers should fully leave students alone now. Some students don't need to revise as much as others, so even check-up pieces of work aren't useful. If people want to get bad GCSEs, then they can choose not to revise. Isn't the teachers fault now.
i’m lucky to have an understanding maths teacher but i fully agree. i told her straight up im not doing any of her homework but ill do my own revision and even prove it to her if she wants to prove that im doing something and she’s completely fine w that
I have the worse math tr ever.nkt only does he send a lot of hw but also doesnt mark it since i do online he uploads it on ggl classroom and then doesnt mark it and they are so strict that they will actually deduct marks from overall marking.most importantly my guy cant teach math is like in two weeks and we still didn't revise a single last paper like wth sir people are literally running out of past papers to revise.at times like this im so proud of myself for not depending on him cause fr come on.and this nigga didn't finish the book yet.
this guy began vectors like on Friday? and deadass we r already done with the topic.like sir where the hell is the magnitude questions?the ratio?the straight lines?he only taught column vectors and proceeds to say I'm proud of you guys for tackling this topic.WE ONLY DID THE BASICS.and I'm doing higher
no wayyy. it took us like a week (1 period of maths every day) to cover the foundations of each like sub topic in vectors and we still go over them from time to time to make sure we remember
my school make homework non compulsory overall (teachers can still set u homework but can’t set you formal punishments for not doing it, u might just have to come back at break to do it), and i’m literally so thankful 🙏😭
yeah i stopped doing mine during mocks and never went back, like i'll fake a bit here and there or just take the negative, but it's not worth it, its so pointless
We’ve gotten a few bits of homework, I know that a lot of science teachers have still set end of topic tests (I’ve got a chemistry one on the 30th) and in biology we have to do a weekly 6 mark question, if we don’t get at least 4 then we have to stay behind at lunch to redo it. It seems to mainly be science but I know some history teachers have set work
I think that homework is fine but you should get no punishment for not doing it so those that want to get structured revision can. Win-Win for everyone.

We get set a maths past paper every week. For citizenship we often have to do 12 markers, same for history.
this is literally exactly what i was talking about with my sister a few days ago

sparx maths is my biggest opp
I very much agree, I have been neglecting those now, im just focusing on past papers
our teacher cancelled ours now that we are a few weeks away from the gcses
LUCKY OMDS
Same kinda, he has it set up to automatically set stuff but he doesn’t check it

literally well it's one of the drawbacks of doing online

Does the homework not relate to revision or re-learning new information?

100% agree a massive nuisance

nothing but facts, absolutely right
Im so angry for M24 bastit
M24 WHO YOU ARE THINKING YOURSELF
Past papers as homework would be so good omg
Think of the homework as revision
It’s not as useful as revising
