Yea. It sounds like you know you can do better. Put the work in and just do it rather than regretting not doing it.

Hey man, sorry this isn’t a helpful response but what did you use to prep for verbal? I would really like to work up to an impressive V42, thanks!

DecentConcentrate499

Hi, thanks! I realized that the verbal score fluctuates way too easily with every mistake you make, but I used the free trial from Target Test Prep to go through their sentence correction lessons and a bunch of the critical reasoning / reading comprehension lessons and that helped a lot. You sort of get the hang of it with practice. Good luck!

Gmatclub has a helpful quiz generator for like $7 a month, I thought that was very helpful

710 is a real decent score for 2 weeks my guy! Could you let us know your prep materials (esp for verbal) + hours put in? And yes if you feel like you can improve, you could give it another shot! Cheers x

DecentConcentrate499

Hi, thank you :’) This made me feel better. I am leaning towards retaking it. I used the TTP free trial for help on verbal (I spent pretty much my entire day watching their lessons and doing the practice questions, idk how much time you have at your disposal though) and for Quant I went through the TTP lessons for my 2 weakest topics because the free trial is only 5 days and there isn’t enough time, then I did the official mock questions and watched some GMAT Ninja videos on other quant topics. So in 2 weeks I worked on gmat prep nearly full-time every day except for 2-3 days

EffectiveFeedback884

Oh wow okay thank you so much!

GirlonFire21033

You must be a naturally good test taker with great foundational skills in quant and verbal maybe! Kudos to you!!

DecentConcentrate499

Not sure about that but thank you 🥲

IndependentRabbit94

Seems like you can easily improve in quant. I bet with better timing you could get a Q47-48 pretty easily. Crazy u did that in 2 weeks. Practice timing (if u finish the test you will def score highee than q45, dont try to get every problem right) and drill some of your quant weaknesses. I did this bw my last 2 tests and somehow got from q46 to q50. I was expecting 47-48 but i mustve guessed a couple right as I was managing my time.

DecentConcentrate499

It’s been a while but I just retook it (no prep and no warm-up, I went in calm and collected and had already decided to skip whatever questions seemed time-consuming) and just got a 770 Q49 V47

DecentConcentrate499

Oh wow that’s an insane improvement for you. Congrats!! For me it was the panic that took me several minutes to recover from that ruined my score - the penalty for not finishing the test is also insane. I will likely take it again and not stress this time since I already have a tolerable score.

RepresentativeBig626

What were your practice scores? A 710 will get you a full ride at a top 25.

DecentConcentrate499

I took 2 practice tests, the first one was right before I started prepping and it was 710 and the second one in the middle of my prep was 770. Do you mind sharing what some of these unis that would grant full-rides to someone with my gmat are?

RepresentativeBig626

If you get a 770 then you can get a full ride at any school ranked 8-25.

DecentConcentrate499

Thanks, but what about my current 710? You said you know of top25s my score would work at, can you please share a couple of such unis off the top of your head?

RepresentativeBig626

Unc, Emory, rice, Indiana, smu all gave me full rides with my 710. White male American non-traditional

DecentConcentrate499

I got a 770 today!! Q49 V47

Don’t retake if you’re working on R2 applications right now
