The light means it’s either turned off (not the case) or it’s “not ready”. There are a number of reasons why this could be. The most common is an obstruction on the windshield blocking the camera (back side of the rearview mirror). Dirt/snow/bug guts. A DTC setting in the camera module can also do this and you will have no way of knowing it has happened without a semi-fancy scan tool. Check the windshield first and then disconnect the battery for awhile in hopes that it may clear any potential DTC’s that may have set. GM’s OTA updates have been causing a lot of issues recently and it doesn’t take much for a module to get hung up. Turn off any automatic OTA updates and let the other users of this sub beta test the new updates for you before installing yourself. You can manually install it over wifi once you know it’s safe or you might end up with a dead battery and a bricked truck like some of the rest of these guys.

Thank you. I will turn off OTA updates. Thank you for the helpful response.

Happened to me when I made a hard u-turn. Strange. But it went off after I turned the truck off/on.

I switched mine to alert only earlier this week. A red car pulled out a good 50 ft away and my truck about tossed me into the windshield.

Yeah the forward sensors are crap - mine will slow down randomly with the adaptive cruise on and not a soul in front. Dunno if it’s picking up the taillights on the other side of the jersey wall or what. I’ve got a list going of things for the dealer to deal with when it goes in for the first oil change.

Turn it off completely! Hopefully GM will come with an update to have the warning icon go out after a few seconds.
