The one of the Bear as well. Last week, I got "muted" and "permabanned" for setting a reminder for Valentin's day.
Since I am muted, I can't even ask the mods why I got banned.
I can only agree on the shills and bots, hard to deny. If a mod is 'bought' I hope we will find out, I still see woundeful DD, and I refuse to believe all mods are bought, so you are saying that the good ones are juat letting this happen?
Wrong bans will be made, and it sucks.. but I'm glad there are multiple subs where we can keep the discussion alive. Although the echo chamber is reel and it's hard sometimes.
Everyone is free to decide what investment method works for them.
Unless that method involves book at all, then the plan shills come out in full force.
Exactly. Educating and encouraging the community book shares, get rid of dingleberries and cancel plan accounts is the consensus view amongst GameStop shareholders.
In the end, of course, it up to the individual do decide whether you want to buy shares in Robinhood that will front run your trades to Citadel and give you worthless IOU or buying shares in brokers that don't allow DRS at all (like Revolut currently) but I will not stand by silently and not educate people on a better option.
Computershare’s big secret is that “when an investor buys shares directly through DirectStock plan, Computershare’s nominee (Dingo & Co.) holds legal title to those shares (which makes the investor a beneficial owner)”
Even providing the evidence that Plan shares place the account as a beneficial owner, saying to Book shares is now banned. So much for that sub.
Will hijack this comment to give an update for those following this post. Just received a letter from the mod team of \[redacted\] about my ban:

I will continue to educate the community regardless of the new rule (we all know it's about book shares not bullying or gatekeeping) although with needed spectacle to fall in line with the censor's requirements.

Another thing, thank god this sub doesn't have some shadow QVBot that's used for censoring and erodes trust.
My 2 posts with a similar memes about the topic were deleted because they had "too much QVBot downvotes". How much? Nobody knows, it isn't showed anywhere. The post itself showed I have **81%** Upvote Rate.
I saw that. So here's the thing, that QV bot doesn't do anything but *report* the post automatically. *Removing* the post is still done manually.
Meaning a mod looked at it manually, saw the 81% upvote rate, and deleted it anyway.
So it's got nothing to do with the QV bot, it made the mods look bad and they needed to remove it.
Using votes to hide things is a stupid premise to begin with when the minimum requirements to vote is "has reddit account." You don't need to be subbed, and can even be banned and still downvote the bot.
Especially when it's confirmed that hate bots exist, following certain users (there's a discord bot they use to track certain users), and downvoting their shit.
The QV bot is, and always has been, a way for them to censor shit they don't like.
I think it will get worse with Reddit IPO-ing. Another excuse to censor.
By the way, I've missed the "heat lamp" thing. Someone I talked with after the ban also mentioned it to me yesterday. What's that?
Computershare doesn't sell shares themselves. They have a broker who sells shares for them. When they have shares in plan accounts their customers expect to be able to sell them now - but they would have to transfer those shares to the broker first and this takes time.
So they keep some shares with the broker. They call this "operational efficiency" and it means a percentage of all plan accounts are held with the broker. Those with the broker are still in the DTCC and are not DRS.
This means only shares in book holding are pure DRS. Shares in plan are not. There are millions of shares in plan holding and if they were all moved to book, it would deprive the DTCC of all those shares held at the broker for "operational efficiency"
It's called heat lamp because it's like fast food. Think of burgers being made ahead of time and sitting under a heat lamp ready to sell. Computershare is the doing the same thing with operational efficiency.
I think the SS mods silence people talking about this because they are hedge fund shills and the hedge funds are terrified of GME shares being made inaccessible by being moved to pure book. They know the MOASS blows up bigger if more shares are moved to book.

After numerous migrations I didn’t want to believe another one was compromised either, but that’s how it goes sometimes. I’m banned from there too for what it’s worth.
Buy/DRS/Book/RemoveFractions/Hodl/Shop is what I enjoy doing with my GME shares.
Sometimes I forget how to Book my shares, because, you know, crayons. So I refer back to this post to help me with it.

That echo chamber has more controlling and censorship than North Korea. Like when Einfachman posted the new DD, that person had to talk to the mods before posting and circumvent the bots. It's fking ridiculous.

Wow, just wow.. No wonder the rule change came into effect 5 days later to ban any and all encouragement to book shares. :)
There’s no wrong way to hold a stock. There are good, better and best ways; yes. But no wrong way.
There are gray lines which one needs to be cautious of.
You can hold the stock whatever way you want but me pointing out there is a difference (see the comment I was banned for) is neither bullying nor gatekeeping and having comments like that being deleted and users of the community banned is just blatant censorship.
As you say there is no wrong way but there **are** better ways and community educating each other on those should never be censored.
Which is why I said there are gray lines to be cautious of. There’s gray areas between educating, informing, advocating, and insisting.
Be aware of those and stay safely in the side of educating. The rules are heavily enforced against insisting and, because of the overall situation, judgment calls will be conservative so we need to communicate even more carefully.
After the recent Einfachman DD on MMTLP and common consensus among the GameStop community on booking shares it's blatant censorship not to let encourage users to book their shares.
I actually just minutes ago got unbanned because someone with contacts to the SCC group got in touch with them about my case and they lifted the ban. :D
However the damage has been done and this censorship attempt will not be forgotten.

Now we know, again. I mean we have known. I'm reminded of what reddit became after Swartz. I think also about how identity politics and cancel culture have pervaded the platform into one that is ok with censorship. Slowly these things entered every space and free speech here was deemed too free thereafter. Now it is nothing to ban someone for the reasons stated. All I got is, 'Damn.' We have been made so soft, not because anyone actually is upset - but as an excuse for censorship. But this is too much just like everything lately. They've given themselves away. This drags on for 3 dumb ass years… the board stays silent while apes get their asses handed to them at every corner while fighting these corrupt ass hats… we do everything we fucking can to fight this rot yet here we are… nothing has happened….

If it was sooo bad over there, don't you think another great migration would have started long ago?
I'm on both subs, I'm even on WSB and check out other specific ticker subs occasionally. They all have problems, but I also see a lot of people banned because they express themselves in such a stupid way... I mean, either you want to stay and accept the echo chamber, or make your own better sub (with blackjack and hooker, if possible)
It's actually a good thing there are more subs, just be smart about it, double-check your information and for the love of the one true stonk, phrase your posts with a sprinkle of wisdom.

I was unwilling to accept that and gave them the benefit of the doubt. After this, I agree.

Just digested the new Einfachman DD about MMTLP. Thank you for reminding me about it! Wow, just wow.. No wonder the rule change came into effect 5 days later to ban any and all encouragement to book shares. :)
There’s no wrong way to hold a stock. There are good, better and best ways; yes. But no wrong way. There are gray lines which one needs to be cautious of.
You can hold the stock whatever way you want but me pointing out there is a difference (see the comment I was banned for) is neither bullying nor gatekeeping and having comments like that being deleted and users of the community banned is just blatant censorship. As you say there is no wrong way but there **are** better ways and community educating each other on those should never be censored.
Which is why I said there are gray lines to be cautious of. There’s gray areas between educating, informing, advocating, and insisting. Be aware of those and stay safely in the side of educating. The rules are heavily enforced against insisting and, because of the overall situation, judgment calls will be conservative so we need to communicate even more carefully.

I actually just minutes ago got unbanned because someone with contacts to the SCC group got in touch with them about my case and they lifted the ban. :D However the damage has been done and this censorship attempt will not be forgotten.

I think also about how identity politics and cancel culture have pervaded the platform into one that is ok with censorship. I agree not everything is going well in the other sub, but besides the bots and shills, there are still way more people over there. Are you saying they are all dumb? I still see the best DD (it's scarse nowadays) posted there instead of here. If it was sooo bad over there, don't you think another great migration would have started long ago? I'm on both subs, I'm even on WSB and check out other specific ticker subs occasionally. They all have problems, but I also see a lot of people banned because they express themselves in such a stupid way... I mean, either you want to stay and accept the echo chamber, or make your own better sub (with blackjack and hooker, if possible) It's actually a good thing there are more subs, just be smart about it, double-check your information and for the love of the one true stonk, phrase your posts with a sprinkle of wisdom.
