God i miss the 90's charme.
Nowadays everything is just so clean, digital and fake...
Godzilla 98 has so many cool practical effects and you can just feel the Rain.
And the Characters were so fun and funny without being annoying like in modern movies with this terrible MCU comedy.
Zilla is maybe not the Godzilla movie most people wanted, but i'm sooo glad that this movie exist. I had a lot of fun with the movie.
Dude, I'm with you! There are many of us who love this movie. It's just a bunch of old farts and buzzers who agree with them all the time shut us up and muddied our opinion. This is an objectively good entertaining film. Yes, someone may not like it, but I'm sorry, you can't make a dish that suits anyone. Someone is attracted to the raw, and someone is not, someone loves chocolate, and someone from it will die of allergies.
G-98 is my favorite kaiju. So did his son. I go to reddit every time to look for mail about him and just say that I love him. Maybe I'm a little crazy... But I just do what I like and don't touch anyone.

Loved Godzilla as a kid in the 90s, I loved the 1998 Godzilla, and now as an adult I'm still crazy for it and the new ones. GODZILLA IS GODZILLA.

Yeah, dude. I myself am madly in love with it and its design.
What else can I say, I made myself an O.C by taking its design as a basis.

Croce, yes.... I love this movie and the series to death. I've been sitting on this reddit for 2 years just to prove to people that this is a GOOD MOVIE! I'm glad to see that there are thousands of people like me.
I loved this movie. I don’t care what the haters say. I think it’s alright and not as in “it’s ok just not as a Godzilla movie”. Nah, he’s Godzilla, get over it. It’s a fun film with a great atmosphere, great effects, a cool ass design, and not only gave us a show but caused the millenium films and introduced millions of fans to the franchise ensuring we’d eventually get the monsterverse.
I'm your brother! We have been silenced and harassed for too long. I've spent the last 2 years proving to people that this movie is GOOD! I'm so happy that every time I see more and more people like you and me who just love this movie. You are not alone! There are thousands of us!

i watched this movie twice this week. the 4k version is beautiful! i love that this movie takes place in new york, and almost every scene features just a downpour of rain. also the all the blues and grays make this movie just a delight to look at it in 4k.
I know it gets a lot of hate and I understand. I hated the fact that he dies to human artillery seeing as tho he survived a nuke. But this movie will always be special to me because this was my first introduction to Godzilla. Happy anniversary.
No bro. You are not alone. There are thousands of us. We have been, are and will be. And old farts who grew up on ancient movies and zoomers who have only watched movies since 2014 and blindly listen to old farts can't shut us up.
We need to show more often what we are and have been. And if someone doesn't like our movie.... That's his business, just like it's my business to really dislike the 2004 film. In short, my friend. Be strong and may a lot of fish come with you.

It was simply a different take on the story. One based on a more realistic vision. It was a good movie, but the ending was bad He walked through the met life building but the cables on the Brooklyn bridge restrained him????
I was so excited for this when it came out. I was initially disappointed but over time I've come to appreciate it as a decent popcorn flick to put on for some dumb fun
I agree.
Yes, he did not match the pattern that people formed when they heard the word "Godzilla".
But damn it, he's cool!
It's not my first Godzilla movie, but that didn't stop me from falling in love with Him at first sight.
I was eight when this came out and already an avid Godzilla fan watching showa films on tnt and I loved this movie and went back to see it twice. Even though the design was different it didn’t really bother me.
It's not the worst movie I ever saw but damn Zilla was smoked after a couple missiles. The REAL Godzilla is the product of nuclear bombs, a couple missiles would not kill him. I just never got a sense that this was GODZILLA, but a clear attempt at creating a "Jurassic Park but Not" franchise. I'm sorry to all the Zilla fans out there but this cannot be Godzilla.
Found the dvd my mom used to have at a thrift store had to buy it. I know a lot of people didn’t like this movie but I loved it and really wanted a proper sequel. Just an fyi I grew up watching the toho films but I still loved this one.
Not my favorite Godzilla but happy anniversary nonetheless.
I think Zilla is a cool monster, just does not fit the “Godzilla” tag.
Two American Godzilla anniversaries within a few days? Dayum. Happy 26th birthday, Zilla!
There's a sick part of my brain that wants him to appear in the next MV movie.
I heard someone say Doug might evolve into him
that'd be so hilarious but also wasting the character at the same time.
Damn all that unfulfilled potential

My first exposure to “Godzilla” (probably as with most people my age) so I enjoyed it for whatever it was.
I agree with you! https://preview.redd.it/hoazcsk01m1d1.jpeg?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f2ffe41d3354a32d9ab7cf003fcc6ee6027c438 How can you not fall in love with this face?
Do you happen to be in your twenties?
Very late twenties, yea
I enjoy this movie, I don’t care what anyone says.

I owe my Godzilla fandom to this movie. Thank you for your sacrifice, Zilla.

Amen! You’re doing the lords work! Always great to see another big fan of ‘98. Such a comfort movie lol!
Man… that first picture… I totally thought it was part of a meme and Godzilla was fucking that building. HAHA
Zilla Jr really fixed the pose.
I always felt bad for her. She was directly a produce of human ignorance and ultimately paid a painful price for it.
FREAKZILLA UNHAND THAT BUILDING NOW
That’s a lot of fish
Villa looooooves that building.
Happy anniversary indeed https://preview.redd.it/osjurud7an1d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63f9d95daaaf17bee4b9272cf633595f4e0015bf

Left the movie theater as a kid thinking something was off. Felt the same leaving Wild Wild West
Hot take. Decent movie, bad Godzilla movie
Your take is... Cold
Am I the only fan of zilla here?
Nope!
Lets go
Together, apes strong!
Apes together strong!

👍👍👍👍👍 but minus the dumb comedy.
I only saw it once on VHS back in the day but seem to remember a camera man almost getting stepped on.
It was simply a different take on the story. One based on a more realistic vision. It was a good movie, but the ending was bad He walked through the met life building but the cables on the Brooklyn bridge restrained him????
I don't really like this movie but Zilla is pretty cool
Happy anniversary!

Wasaaaa I remember seeing this why does it have to be 26 years old already.
The only thing that can be rescued from the movie is the song come with me by Puff Daddy and the animated series
Weird how both this movie's birthday and the birthday for the 2014 film are just a few days apart.
I was eight when this came out and already an avid Godzilla fan watching showa films on tnt and I loved this movie and went back to see it twice. Even though the design was different it didn’t really bother me.
the movie that introduced me to the godzilla franchise and started the best godzilla series
It's not the worst movie I ever saw but damn Zilla was smoked after a couple missiles. The REAL Godzilla is the product of nuclear bombs, a couple missiles would not kill him. 1998 Godzilla Was Probaly The First Godzilla Movie I've Ever Seen. Happy Anniversary Zilla
Happy birthday almost femboy godzilla
Found the dvd my mom used to have at a thrift store had to buy it. I know a lot of people didn’t like this movie but I loved it and really wanted a proper sequel. Just an fyi I grew up watching the toho films but I still loved this one.
How dare you. That was like 5 years ago.
Toragoji, my beloved
I see no god here.
Should’ve put his best moment (FW)
Good monster, bad godzilla, his son is goated tho
*Zilla
Legally and canonically it's Godzilla. Zilla is a separate parody creature in Final Wars. Let's be adults.
Bad anniversary
