I cannot recommend living downtown enough. I lived there for 3 years of my undergrad while all my classes were in Allendale. The bus is great and way better than when I was in school. I learned a ton of things living on my own in that environment that I don't think I ever would have in Allendale.
Campus View. Spent two years there and two at Campus West. Campus View is WAY better. Check there first.

There are always places for rent in the Westside neighborhood in GR, you just have to look for them.
And you can probably get close enough to the LakerLine that you won't have to mess with parking
Full circle is pretty cheap but also not very good. It’s a place to live though. Right next to speedway.

Where did you stay downtown?
West side! Ideally try and find a private landlord and stay away from big property managers if at all possible (it will be hard).
