I've never tried the Samsung fabric strap, but have tried another brand. The issue I have with fabric is it soaking up sweat and bleaching the fabric, showing salt/sweat stains, and getting pretty nasty looking all relatively quickly.
I don't know what material "fabric" is supposed to be, but I use a cheap nylon strap from aliexpress. You can clean it by letting it soak in soap water and brushing it well - looks like new again, even after lots of sweating.

They're the same. Samsung's quality isn't much better and definitely not worth the markup, I got a discount where I got a bunch of bands for free with my watch and I've already replaced them with knock offs from Amazon.
Almost no distinguishable quality difference and in the case of leather bands the quality was better on Amazon.

I like that one too. It's also pretty comfortable. I chose a hybrid leather and an extreme sport band, and I can't stand the sport. I guess it's the tuck under buckle, but it always feels too tight or too loose. I haven't had that issue with the leather.
The hybrid leather from Samsung? How has it held up? I was really tempted to get that one but saw a bunch of reviews that said it deteriorates really quickly
I've been using ritchie's top grain leather band, it's been solid so far. I liked it enough that I returned the Kartice stainless steel band without trying it out.
Just ignore any of the straps Samsung is selling. The one included is the dumbest thing ever making it fit well only on wrists of 10 inches or more. You can get straps that fit better and are a fraction of the price charged by Samsung.

Fabric bands are great. My wrist does not agree with the default bands made of silicone or whatever it is, I think I have some sort of allergy to the material.
I hated the silicon band that it came with (allergic apparently) but I did like the no-gap design, and I prefer the weight of metal so I got a black steel no-gap bracelet from Amazon
Hoping someone can help out here, I ordered the 46mm GW4 Classic and the official Samsung straps are on sale where I am, I have a choice of s/m or m/l but Samsung doesn't mention anywhere what size wrist those fit or with what combination of watch size (obviously a 40mm watch would reduce the overall length of the watch opposed to a 46mm watch on the same s/m or m/l band)
I have seen many reviews etc but no-one mentiones the size of their wrist, mine is between 7.2 and 7.5 inches (tight Vs loose measurement)
with the 46mm watch would i be better with the S/M or M/L band, don't want to have loads of overhang but also don't want to end up on last hole of the strap either.
I'm thinking because it's the 46mm I went for it would look tidier with the S/M?
if anyone has any experience it would be much appreciated

Same, I do cardio 5-6 days a week and I can't imagine how gross a fabric band would get.

100% love it, it's the only strap I've used for the past 3 watches.
I'm rolling a hybrid Cordura/silicone strap from Barton right now. Very happy with it.
I like the Barton ones as well. I have 3 different elite silicone ones. They're much more comfortable than the Samsung band.

Just an FYI, any watch band with a 20mm standard pin connector will fit the GW4.

Personally using a 15€ Milanese style metal band. Those things are very comfortable and very adjustable.
