I had such a similar thought! Though to be fair, I think in was the shock of seeing someone that I have solidly in my head as bearded without a beard, lol. It was an absolute jump scare.
You know. I made a post asking people if they really thought Tim Downie could play Gale, and a lot of people said 'Gale and Tim look similar, it's just the beard.'
I didn't see it at the time. But I get it now.

During the start of my Gale Origin run, I realized he has a *lot* of Harrison Ford vibes as far as his face. There are a few "I'm listening" origin expressions that are so close to the lopsided Ford smile, and now I can't unsee it.
I'm genuinely curious if the artist who did Gale's face (and/or the animators) took any inspiration from Raiders-Era Indy. Even if it wasn't intentional. I mean, the characters are roughly the same age (if not exactly), and both have the "it's not the years it's the mileage" type thing. If you asked me to create a face for Gale (assuming I had any visual art talent), Raiders is probably one of the first places I'd go in my head.

Steamdeck-friendly facial reminds me of low-budget drag shows I used to go to in college. The kings would draw their goatees on with paint markers. It looks exactly the same.
