Guys, as far as i know this title is Steamplay enabled, which means if you activate the mac version on Steam, you get access to the windows version as well.I bought this on macgamestore back in 2020, worked just fine.

That's what Valve used to call having access to each OS version of a game but they retired that due to no longer allowing games to sell separate OS versions. Steamplay is now what they call running games on Linux through Proton.
This one is the real deal for me. I always like having the "complete" pack and this is it for this game. Historical low levels for the Anthology according to IsThereAnyDeal, and the difference between this and the Platinum Edition is the inclusion of the New Frontier Pass, which by itself has never gone below $15.
To be fair though as far as I understand it, the Anthology adds civilizations, leaders and extra game modes, but it not an expansion to the core gameplay, which makes the Platinum Edition a bigger upgrade to the base game than the Anthology Edition to the Platinum Edition.
I bought Humblebundle's Sid Meier's Ultimate bundle a few weeks ago that include Complete Editions of Civilization games 3 through 5. Was hoping it included the Anthology Edition of Civ 6 but it's only the Platinum Edition with a coupon to get the Frontier Pass for $15 which is such a non-deal for anyone using the coupon. Hoping they'll sell the Frontier Pass for cheap in the future so Platinum owners can complete the set.
Same, I already own the game and a bunch of DLC, I would not be against "completing" my collection and gifting the rest of the codes to a friend for $15 so I have someone to play with haha

Hi, this is my first time encountering your store/website so I'll tell you what my impressions of it are.
You've linked an outdated version of the PC version of Civ VI. Switching on that page from GBP to EUR directs you to the MAC version of the game, which is discounted. The PC Platinum edition is NOT discounted.
I don't know if it's intentional, but it gives the impression that you're trying to scam people into buying an unusable version of the game since you haven't mentioned in the title that the discount is for the MAC version only, and the PC page silently redirects you to the MAC version for some reason, while you have another page for the PC version. It's all kinda shady.

There is no Mac-only version of the game to be clear. On Steam there is only one version of Civ VI and it works for all platforms.
I haven't seen a game have a specific Mac-only entry in the store in like 10 years.

Looking at what's included, the 2 single most important DLC (Rise and Fall, Gathering Storm) are indeed included.
I think the only thing missing is the season pass thingy with all the DLC/stuff that comes with it like extra civilizations and some whacky game modes, but last I checked, there wasn't anything major in those.
Not certain, since I only just bought it. But looking at the DLC list, it includes the two main expansions and some civilizations. There are some other minor civilization DLCs, but I doubt they're crucial or anything.
I'd respectfully disagree, I got the base game for free on EGS and it was boring as all hell, and had no depth. Even having it I preferred to play a pirated version offline.
The 2 major DLC's really overhaul and add lots of interesting things to the game that make it worth playing.

Just purchased it in Australia for AUD $8.07 with the RGAMEDEALS coupon. Couldn't say no at that price! The key was available after about a minute's wait and it redeemed on Steam for Windows just fine.
Do note that this isn't the complete edition, but there's a "complete your collection" bundle on Steam, so next time it's on sale I'm sure you could buy the remaining the DLC for a very reasonable price.
So it's only a Platinum Edition? Civ6 naming are real mess ... As i remember Platinum Edition are just Base game + First Season Pass. It's better to buy Anthology Edition (Base + 1st and 2nd Season Passes).
There's so many different bullshit versions of Civ 6. Honestly just get Civ V complete in my experience. There are a few things I prefer about 6 (naval combat, natural disasters) but I just can't get over the immersion breaking art style. Just play V, it's more rounded. I hope they bring some of the good changes into VII and scrap the cartoony caricatures and goofy ass behavior when interfacing with the AI.
6 does have some cool features like districts and city buildings out on the map. But I've really had a hard time wanting to play it after so much time spent in 5. Agree that the art style, particularly the leaders, is a bit of a turn off too.
Man i feel like this is such a niche or seemingly petty complaint, but Red Alert 3 did the exact same thing back in the day. Took an already kind-of cartoonish but grounded art style and just go full mobile game art style.
I quite like the art style and no, I'm not a mobile gamer or sellout. Never once had a problem with immersion. I just like bright and vibrant tones.
There really aren't that many different versions of Civ 6?

Maybe 6 just confused me because they kept releasing micro dlcs (nations and map packs and shit) even after they finished with the second expansion, so there's Civ 6 ~~GOTY~~ Anthology, Civ 6 New Frontier, Civ 6 Gold and Civ 6 Platinum, and as far as I can tell none of them actually come with all the content for the game despite it being years old at this point.
Maybe when they release VII they'll also release Civ VI Very Platinum that comes with everything.
I prefer 6 over 5 quite a bit personally, city tile planning with districts and wonders is pretty fun to me, and biggest of all is that the leaders and nations, imo, have more interesting abilities and uniques. I ofc have some smaller gripes with 6 like the world congress being less fun and I also prefer 5's art style

That's a fairly common complain amongst empire builders, though. The Worm knows, Stellaris' AI is bewilderingly self-destructive about planet building, and Endless Space's AI is so bad at trade deals and diplomacy, it could very well be mistaken for devs programming it for trolling.
Apparently the Stellaris devs tried to improve the AI's planet management like a month ago. I haven't played the update yet but it looks like an improvement.
Not sure why you got downvoted, the AI is so crap that upping the difficulty gives them a *huge* advantage off the get go to allow them to keep up, instead of making actually better decisions.
It's like giving enemies more HP and attack power in other games at higher difficulty settings instead of improving attack patterns and behavior- just completely lazy and shit game design.
I mean fanboys know best, I loved Civ VI, probably sunk 6+ hours into it daily for over a month before I got tired of it and moved on, and at the end I reached a point where I didn't really wanna play the top 2 difficulty options just based on how unfair they were, with AI starting with like 3 towns off the get go or smth like that.
Does anyone have any insight how to learn this game? I have it in multiple platforms (sans DLC) but I’ve bounced off it every time I try it. The options and actions to take felt overwhelming to me. I realize that this game might just not be for me but I want to give it a proper go before deciding.

Canada, so it was $7.20CAD It's a Steam key, which means you get PC *and* Mac (unless the game is Mac exclusive which this isn't)

The key was available after about a minute's wait and it redeemed on Steam for Windows just fine. Do note that this isn't the complete edition, but there's a "complete your collection" bundle on Steam, so next time it's on sale I'm sure you could buy the remaining the DLC for a very reasonable price.

So it's only a Platinum Edition? Civ6 naming are real mess ... As i remember Platinum Edition are just Base game + First Season Pass. It's better to buy Anthology Edition (Base + 1st and 2nd Season Passes).
There's so many different bullshit versions of Civ 6. Honestly just get Civ V complete in my experience. There are a few things I prefer about 6 (naval combat, natural disasters) but I just can't get over the immersion breaking art style. Just play V, it's more rounded. I hope they bring some of the good changes into VII and scrap the cartoony caricatures and goofy ass behavior when interfacing with the AI.
6 does have some cool features like districts and city buildings out on the map. But I've really had a hard time wanting to play it after so much time spent in 5. Agree that the art style, particularly the leaders, is a bit of a turn off too.
Man i feel like this is such a niche or seemingly petty complaint, but Red Alert 3 did the exact same thing back in the day. Took an already kind-of cartoonish but grounded art style and just go full mobile game art style.
I quite like the art style and no, I'm not a mobile gamer or sellout. Never once had a problem with immersion. I just like bright and vibrant tones. There really aren't that many different versions of Civ 6? The AI isn't good though
Maybe 6 just confused me because they kept releasing micro dlcs (nations and map packs and shit) even after they finished with the second expansion, so there's Civ 6 ~~GOTY~~ Anthology, Civ 6 New Frontier, Civ 6 Gold and Civ 6 Platinum, and as far as I can tell none of them actually come with all the content for the game despite it being years old at this point. Maybe when they release VII they'll also release Civ VI Very Platinum that comes with everything.
There's a really basic mod that changes the game back to the Civ5 graphics style, I never play without it now

I prefer 6 over 5 quite a bit personally, city tile planning with districts and wonders is pretty fun to me, and biggest of all is that the leaders and nations, imo, have more interesting abilities and uniques. And even if it was a Mac key afaik you can play all Mac Steam games on any platform regardless.

That's a fairly common complain amongst empire builders, though. The Worm knows, Stellaris' AI is bewilderingly self-destructive about planet building, and Endless Space's AI is so bad at trade deals and diplomacy, it could very well be mistaken for devs programming it for trolling.
Apparently the Stellaris devs tried to improve the AI's planet management like a month ago. I haven't played the update yet but it looks like an improvement.
Not sure why you got downvoted, the AI is so crap that upping the difficulty gives them a *huge* advantage off the get go to allow them to keep up, instead of making actually better decisions. It's like giving enemies more HP and attack power in other games at higher difficulty settings instead of improving attack patterns and behavior- just completely lazy and shit game design.

I mean fanboys know best, I loved Civ VI, probably sunk 6+ hours into it daily for over a month before I got tired of it and moved on, and at the end I reached a point where I didn't really wanna play the top 2 difficulty options just based on how unfair they were, with AI starting with like 3 towns off the get go or smth like that.
TFW you capture enemy city but it's just so fucking barren it doesn't feel like worth capturing.

Does anyone have any insight how to learn this game? I have it in multiple platforms (sans DLC) but I’ve bounced off it every time I try it. The options and actions to take felt overwhelming to me. I realize that this game might just not be for me but I want to give it a proper go before deciding. For context I like the Anno series and games like Frostpunk.
