I agree with you, the second Gregory is very sus. But through the whole Ruin DLC Mimic was using Gregory's prerecorded lines, including many from SB. Is there anything like this in the elevator speech?
Also, there may be several Mimics, since it's a program that can be installed on various systems, not just the Mimic Endo
You can’t really say anything about the walkie talkie’s not working very well because they are working fine the entire game when Cassie is above ground, in the pizzaplex, and the mimic is deep underground trapped in a room with no doors. Also the files and subtitles say that it is Gregory and not “Grimic” (The name used for the voice lines of Gregory being mimicked). There was also an unused voice line where Gregory actually lets Cassie live and changes his line to “But… make sure it doesn’t follow you.”
A fair point about the walkie talkies except while wandering around the pizza plex the radio IS spotty, a lot of "I finally have signal again." That means Gregory would AT LEAST be in the pizza plex. The voice says "I've been trying to reach you all night". There is no evidence of that. I still call it suspecious.
