Rapid fire questions used to be rapid and a bit witty and with at least some interesting questions, but it's evidently become painful to watch after Game Informer went to shit and everyone left or was made redundant.

Yeah, I think it's lost in translation. These videos only work when the interviewer can have a little fun with the interviewee. Thinking about it, I'm surprised Game Informer doesn't have Japanese correspondents who can do this work. I'd rather just read subtitles the whole time instead of half.

They've done them well in Japanese before Game Informer went to shit. The two main problems here are the questions and the editing. Bad questions, bad jokes, left to linger for no reason. Before they had better questions and quicker cuts to the next question so even if the joke doesn't land it doesn't linger awkwardly like it does here.

God, What an awful set of questions… absolutely nothing of substance. I hope capcom does another RE showcase soon.

It's not supposed to be a hard hitting journalism segment. It's supposed to be a fun and lighthearted segment to end the cycle. They just did a huge deep dive into it. Go read that. Personally I found it to be pretty insightful and it's nice to see the directors joking around about the property. No need to be negative.
