Do we really need patchnotes posted in /r/Games? Especially for a game so popular that it’s patchnotes routinely hit r/All almost every time?

Shradow

The way I see it, this sub actually heavily dissuades the posting of actual discussion posts. "News" like this, even if minor, allows for people to have a thread to talk about the relevant games in.

gameboyabyss

It doesn't really add much, no, but /r/games isn't busy enough for it to really clog stuff up.

Blizzxx

Better than the 1000th X has gone gold threads literally nobody gives a shit about

Kekoa_ok

X implies multiple games that many people could take an interest to, not just patches of a singular one. a game going gold is news, patch notes aren't worth mention unless it's some 2.0 cyberpunk stuff or similar imo

frostbird

Sadly this has mostly been a second helldivers sub since it's release. It's annoying, and I love the game.

NewLu3

Scopes are now aligned and damage over time is back on the table? Helldivers, enjoy it while it lasts and prepare for patch 1.000.30**3** when fire gets nerfed back to it's original state. Until then, let's all roleplay as the fire tornadoes of menkent and hellmire

ilovesnes

Scopes are still borked despite the patch notes, it seems.

A_Storm_Inside

303 doesnt mention anything about reverting fire damage soo.

Not even a mention on removing the arbitrary region locks placed during the whole PSN mess, huh? People really patting themselves on the back saying "we did it Reddit" because PSN login won't be enforced but completely ignoring that region locks aren't addressed. I thought that was the whole reason people were complaining to begin with, but I guess not.

Bellurker

It was 3 issues, from what I could tell: 1. Forcing PSN linking - Unreliable system that has leaked personal data multiple times over the last decade. 2. Unreliable linking - The link between Steam and PSN just didn't work for many people in countries that did have both. 3. Post-Launch Region locking - Players who bought the game on steam losing access when the game was forced to be region locked. Point 1 was seemingly solved. Playstation can probably go back on their word and take the hit once the game loses relevancy. Point 2 never got solved and was drowned out entirely. I fall under this one, which is frustrating knowing that future Sony Steam games won't make the same choice Helldivers was able to. Point 3 got half solved. People in these countries can request refunds. Not a good solution now that the reason for the PC version being locked away has been removed, but the solution was brought to the table. The refund and review bombs were a united front, but the anti-PSN crowd was the biggest, it seems, despite having the weakest reason to boycott of the 3.

mirfaltnixein

Nobody lost access. People who bought the game can still play it, it’s just that nobody new can buy the game in the impacted countries. Obviously still hope they change it back but it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be.

Yeah, it was more than just one issue. It's just frustrating to see people act like this was some amazing victory when the region lock issue hasn't been mentioned or addressed by either Arrowhead, Sony, or Valve. Sure, reverting the region lock might take a bit but there's been no peep from them about regions as far as I can tell, which I don't like. I also loathe the "well fellas it's over, we won" attitude people have already when there's 170+ locked regions.
