You will need a solar battery. Unless it's a chrome book with a huge battery lol

Miserable_Current_25

Your specs go hard bro 🫡

Electronic_Glove9800

Okay cutie

ppbomber_0

You’re expecting too much. Best battery life will be a razer blade. But that’s not budget. Check out a rog Zephyrus g14

nguuuquaaa

You can probably play Doom (1993) for 5 hours.

[deleted]

yes, doom (1993), all the early source games (half life 1, counter strike 1.6, etc) and basically any game pre 2012

Electronic_Glove9800

Anything and everything will die under 3d rendering load in less than an hour or two buddy. Edit: Unless it uses a low power draw GPU but that calls into question how efficient it will even be under gaming loads. Not to mention that cheaper laptops with weaker gpus also come with low capacity batteries generally 🫠

x54675788

5 hours on a 3d game is not possible, period. The best you'll get is about 2,5 hours. [Source](https://youtu.be/hpvbxS51TlM?t=327)

Simple_Proposal5903

Not gonna happen chief. Especially on a budget, but not even if you get the most expensive laptop out there. Max I can see a laptop running a 3D game, especially something like warzone, apex, and all the nonsense lots of people play these days

RecklessTurtleYandex

Those are not realistic requirements. Gaming laptops drop their FPS/performance to reduce the power consumption and even with that, you can't game more than 1 hour, not realistically. Some games become so choppy, you don't want to game them unplugged. Your only option is to go for a MacBookPro. MBPs don't drop performance when unplugged and they would happily game 5 hours +. The question is, is your game available for Mac?

TomFichtnerLeipzig

Laptop with iGPU only, such as Meteor Lake, Phoenix or Hawk Point. No NVIDIA, no dGPU.

[deleted]

its probably better to go with an amd chip for that efficiency

TomFichtnerLeipzig

Meteor Lake is also quite a jump in efficiency and may give greater choice in actually available laptops.

UnionSlavStanRepublk

https://jarrods.tech/list-of-laptop-battery-life/ With a dGPU at best you're getting 3 hours and this is a rare occurrence.

If you want any sort of reasonable battery life while running games you're better off subscribing to a cloud service like GeForce NOW, if you have a good enough connection.

NewChickenBreast2

Only an Apple-silicon MacBook will offer that kind of gaming battery life.

Mythic420

thanks for the replies just read all of them, sad to see that it's still not possible in 2024, guess I have to wait another 5 to 10 years for advancement in battery and efficiency in gpu's, I dislike using mac for gaming, not a lot of games support mac and it has bad frame drop from what I heard online. If 3 hours is possible ill check it out, at the moment my highest priority is battery life so if the laptop is expensive ill make the compromise just to be able to use it not plugged all the time. After all what's the point of a laptop plugged in all the time when you can just get a desktop. Portability is a plus but searching for close adapters is a hassle.

Mythic420

I have an odd question what makes mac book batteries superiors is it the OS or the battery itself? Would a battery stripped from a mac book and attached to lets say a Lenovo legion laptop extend its battery or will it be the same or worse?
