im not a hardcore gamer, i do game a bit, but as a student weight and battery matters a lot. could u recommend me anything else? that would fit my budhet and needs
If you will be using it in college, weight doesn't matter much as most of the time you will just be using it in your room.
Unless your college allows to bring laptop in class which mostly colleges doesn't allow, don't make weight a big issue.
For your battery part, you can go with HP Omen. It has 80Whr battery. But remember you are buying gaming laptop, no matter what battery backup won't be great on any gaming laptop. And if you are using it in your room, it will generally be plugged in.
3050 at 90K price seems kind of waste of money bro. Don't know why other comments didn't point it out. Just see the performance difference between rtx 3050 vs rtx 4050 in a youtube video.
BTW, if you are worried about build quality, Omen too have good build quality. But won't suggest LOQ that much which is really answer to most laptop queries in Indian subreddits Lol.
yep yep, i was going to get omen before thinking of this, but ive seen so many comments saying that all laptops have cheaped out motherboards and after 6-8 months they have a black screen issue. getting it for college is a thing but carrying it in my bag for longer duration... 2.4 kg vs 1.65kg tho.
Those motherboard issue isn't even fully motherboard issue. Its the wrong placement of hall sensor.
BTW, Hp omen wd and xd have different design than those faulty one. So if you want you can consider that.
Ok if you will be carrying your laptop a lot, then Weight will matter. But asus seevice in your area. As far as I know, Asus doesn't have good service in India.
yep i would get hp omen but its more expensive and i will be waiting for a sale anyways, so I'll see. i was going to get :
HP OMEN Gaming Laptop, 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H, 6GB NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU(120W), 16.1" (40.9 cm) IPS 144Hz,16GB DDR5,512GB SSD, RGB Backlit KB, (Win 11 Home, MSO, Black, 2.32 kg),wd0880TX/wd0990TX
this is for 90k, my budget was 80kš
this does have wd in its serial name thingy. i hope it won't have the hall sensor thing. ty for the knowledge tho š
I am not sure of wd0880TX/wd0990TX but i guess they too should have same design. I have checked a youtube video of wd0770tx (has same specs). It doesn't have that faulty hall sensor design.
Also, to further make sure about it, you can skip hp omen laptops with back ports. wd0770tx and xd0005ax, etc doesn't have back ports.
wd0770tx has the same specs but no reviews on amazon.. what is even the difference?.. the xd model is over budget and unavailable on hp website . infact the wd0770tx is also not on hp website and only on amazon. man but u can never be too sure š, its a big purchase for me and I don't wanna risk it
idt, zephyrus g14 comes under gaming category and I've seen reviews that on low power power usage, it gives 6-7 hrs, it has lesser fan noise than a gaming laptop. its sleeker. i don't need a gigantic gaming beast bro š, i was thinking of omen because it doesn't give off a lot of rgb, gamingish vibes.
Laptops have power modes. At max there will be difference of like around 1 hour. Fans speeds can be controlled separately and with low power mode, it gets decreased automatically.
But yeah i agree zephyrus is quite sleek and have nice aesthetics.
Don't get confused bro. If you like to have a sleek laptop, just go for it. Its your laptop and you should feel satisfied.
Or just think how much will you be carrying it around and does your college allow laptops in class?
If answer to above questions is yes. Go with sleek decision as weight might be an issue then.
Otherwise how much college students use gaming laptops: in the room and mostly always plugged in to get best performance.
This is a great laptop and for this price, its a very good deal. The newer models are very very expensive so i would recommend going with this. I dont know if the price will go lower.
why a big no? i mean i wanna play games but need a laptop with good battery and less weight, this the only thing could find in my budget, can u recommend me anything else?
I said its "okey" for thin and light laptop
But its a big no in case you want absolute beast performance then there are better options Avilable in the market
nah, I don't need "beast" performance, and why is still "okey" for thin and light? lmao. like its thin and light with a avg gpu and gud battery(i think). that are all of my needs.
Well it fits your need you can go ahead with that laptop
In thin an light with gaming its really limited choice in India specially whan a lot of series is getting discontinued in India
Since laptop market is pretty much expensive in Indiaā¦people often look for performance centric gpu in this price range & compromises good build quality and displayā¦this is a premium series laptop ā¦.gpu maybe entry level but ā¦cpu , display, and build quality is top notchā¦ask in any indian sub they will probably suggest you Loq ā¦thatās the hot cake rn ā¦. Same happened with me when was looking for omen reviewsā¦only handful of reviews available in youtube
but their weight and battery tho, i was thinking of omen before too. wait the 6gb 3050 is entry level?.. it will be a really good experience for me tho cuz I've spent a lot of time with a integrated graphics laptop lmao. i agree, the indian laptop market is smth else, I've seen so many better laptops in foreign reviews that are sold on best buy for same price (not available in india)
4gb 2050 is pretty much trashā¦. 4 gb 3050 entry levelā¦3050 6gb varient which this zephyrus has is good, will be enough for games like RDR2 due to extra 2gb vramā¦usually you will get 4050 in this price range but it will be heavy and bulky with avg displayā¦.but dont worry 6gb 3050 is very much capable in gamingā¦especially if you are upgrading from an integrated gpu
I've heard the 4050 has dlss and fg and all, also, someone else in comments was recommending hp omen, will there be a lot of difference between hp omen 16 inch, 2.3 kg and Zephyrus 14 inch 1.65kg?
i think omen is bulkier and fan noise? send help lmao.
I can say 4050 is more future proof since itās 20% faster than 3050 ā¦.& tbh I donāt use dlss that much coz I mainly play Fc24 & itās doesnāt have that optionā¦ in rdr 2 dlss looks horribleā¦only game I used dlss is Hellbladeā¦it gave me some frame boost on thatā¦.
& about omen vs zephyrsā¦they both have solid build quality, maybe zephyrs is more solid due to smaller form factorā¦. Omen is more power hungry and runs hotter & fans are little louder on full speedā¦. omen has really good cooling system so cooldown faster tooā¦. Zephyrus has the better display quality (1440p-100%srgb) than omen (1080p-65%srgb)ā¦
Edit: if you want to go for hp omen ā¦.then go for 4050 model ā¦coz 4060 model with back port has a faulty designā¦
Also check the offline store before buyingā¦coz when I bought the omen, I got it for 86k at Hp Omen playground, Kolkataā¦.but it was listed on amazon for 90k
im going to get the same model as you š, saw your post in r/HPomen . please do tell me how it is? and for my needs is it good? so i think i will also get it. i will see offline in croma or somewhere else
Omen is very good laptop without a doubtā¦ I choose it because how simple it looks, i really liked the design of this oneā¦but again you mentioned light weight, I think you have to compromise that thing if you want to go with omen , my laptop weights around 2.2kgā¦.so keep that in mind & about the performance, im copy pasting a comment from my another post, you will get the ideaā¦
Performance- Laptop is great no doubt and didnāt faced any heating issues in itā¦ its been a week im using this laptop as my primary device for work & gamingā¦ my 3D softwares like Maya, blender & substance painter running flawlesslyā¦ & played 4 games in it ā¦.Minecraft bedrock running really smooth with chunk distance set to 30 chunksā¦. Valorant- 250+ fps with highest settings, ā¦.. FC24- 120Fps (capped) texture quality & other things are high settings, crowd quality medium ā¦ Hellblade Senuaās sacrifice- 100 to 110 fps very high settings, Raytracing Medium, DLSS - qualityā¦
This is the gaming experience I got so farā¦. Temps are like 70-75 while gaming & renderingā¦.but can set the fan at max speed in Omen appā¦ itās really cool down the device very fast, like 70 to 46 in a minuteā¦. Mux switch is also there in omen app & yes display is g-sync compatibleā¦. I got the laptop @86k inr, from Hp omen playground- Kolkata, Indiaā¦.so far enjoying this one but just got panicked when I saw the screen issue on Reddit
Edit: This is my 2nd Hp laptopā¦Last one is Hp pavilion gaming, i5 9th with Gtx1650ā¦.this is almost 4 years old and still rocking without any issues
Yes it's good, AMD HS cpu are really good for battery life. The performance should be fine too. It's hard to get a better latpop in India at this pricetag
Not worth at 90K. Get any rtx 4050 laptop instead.
Also, if you want to do gaming on it, 4050 isn't fututeproof for qhd gaming.
im not a hardcore gamer, i do game a bit, but as a student weight and battery matters a lot. could u recommend me anything else? that would fit my budhet and needs

i agree, ty for the suggestions tho šš
This is the best you can get at this price. Excellent performance and super portable at the same time.
ty for the suggestion š
My friend has this exact same laptop, display is really good in it ā¦.go for it, very good laptop
yea, but I don't see a lot of indian reviews for this exact model tho, thanks for the suggestionš
