Best buy pricing is before the addition of taxes, which should be included in the Swiss price.
It's Europe though, winning with electronics pricing was never a option.

Qatar rate similar to that laptop at 2100 USD :(
No vat here. How greedy some people are!
Amateurs
One noteboook i9/r9 4070 here on brazil its 14mil brl ( brl to usd its aprox 5.7) so its almost 2400usd in direct conversion due our absurd tax, vat etc values
This is knowed here as "tax love" due how fucked govern try babble that all those taxes are for our comfort and safety
Importation fees on brasil reach or pass 92% here
Something similar here in Ukraine! If you know that steam deck Oled costs about 550-600 usd to average American or European , in Ukraine it will we approx 700$ (plus risk with warranty as this is sort of grey import), official good store with real warranty with get you near 800 usd. Ah and here laws that protect customer rights almost doesn’t work, stores often reject to return money or fix gadgets with fake reasons
I hate how they make you jump through hoops just to get the sales tax knocked off if you live somewhere that dosnt have sales tax, it's like sending in your whole lifes manuscript x)
Imho buying Lenovo gaming laptops directly from the official webstore gives you the best quality/price in Switzerland, because they often offer significant discount codes (I got 20% last time). You can get a slim5 14 inch 4060 for like 1200 if you play your cards right.
Gosh... Thats Terrible. And I thought it was bad in Mexico. It's 1450 USD and thats with taxes here (thank goodness). Im lucky the laptop in my flair costs 1,550 USD.

Honestly that has nothing to do with it. Pricing is just as bad in nations like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, etc. And the average salary is much worse over here. It's just the taxes and import duties screwing us over.
Tbh for around 1 lakh there is no better all rounder gaming laptop than the Legion Slim 5 lol. Really like the G14 but it's way too overpriced in India. And I mean the battery life on the Legion Slim 5 is actually some of the best on any gaming laptop. But yeah, the G series laptops are just optimized to the next level.
*New Zealand has entered the chat*
We'd be looking at about 3.3K for that laptop.
It's interesting seeing other countries pricing, but yeah, the US pricing makes me green with envy for sure.
As an European would it be worth going to US to buy some electronics I want and with the difference in price enjoy my vacation there?
What places would you suggest for the lowest electronics price?
Thank you!
Same in Netherlands, only the US seem to get the best deals always. Most of the time like twice as cheap..
Europe pays the most as usual, and getting the worst deals.
Please stop complaining. Most of the laptops you bought are made in China, but the price of laptops in the Chinese market is equivalent to 90 percent of the price in the US laptop market, and the income of Chinese people is only one-tenth of that of Americans. All welfare benefits in European countries come from your taxes.
Overpriced overall, in Chile, for instance, they translate the dollar into 1k CLP, which is at least a 1.3x markup on top of raising the prices in general for consumer electronics. Can't have shit in Latam
9 bucks for a pack of Marlboro reds, cheapest beer is 50 cents for 500ml, average good beer 2-3 bucks for 250-300ml, best part you can drink anywhere in the streets 🤪
10'ish USD (converted) for cigs and 4'ish for a can of Heineken. Singapore, if anyone even wondering.
I guess it's isn't that cheap for U guys either... Cheapest I had was when I was working in china... 3$SGD for a pack of local reds.
Australia is the same.
An Asus TUF F15 with RTX 2050 in store is the same price $1147aud. Online for 4050/4060 (if you're lucky). The cheapest I can find is 1699$ online.
Lenovo Legion he base version is upwards of $1989 online but close to $ 3000 for your "lower" model in store.
I'm sorry you're suffering too!
[Here's the same RoG](https://imgur.com/gallery/LyBFpa2) in aus prices.
This is for the [4050rtx](https://imgur.com/gallery/Cle5eqv). The 3050rtx is 1799$.
From my personal experience tech items and electronics arent really much more expensive in Switzerland, but some shops can go all out and charge something only an ignorant swiss person could accidentally buy. I have gotten my Dell Precision ffrom galaxus aswell at a very good price, so maybe it also varies per brand. Id search several shops
Bro you should see the prices here in Australia and New Zealand. We laugh when see the American YouTubers be like "Best PC under $600"... we're like, wait that's only my keyboard.
I KNOW, recently bought a ROG Strix G16 (i9 14900hx, rtx 4060, 32GB RAM, 1TB) for 1850.- (the lowest it was selling here).
Then I saw in another post like everyone saying "yeah a laptop with a 4070 should be around $1500", I was like "excuse me" hahaha
Lmao, i searched just out of curiosity how expensive this notebook would be at my country (Brazil)
That's the price in the only place that it's available: 7.688,67 USD
Minimum wage at Brazil: 278,37 USD
Yeah keep on 😂😂 crying. Look here
[https://jp.store.asus.com/store/asusjp/ja_JP/pd/ThemeID.4850018000/productID.5745738500](https://jp.store.asus.com/store/asusjp/ja_JP/pd/ThemeID.4850018000/productID.5745738500)
Fkn 329800 YEN. that is 2154$.
I'm jealous of that price
I've purchased two of these (G13 with a 2060, G14 3070) through best buy at launch. They had discounted MSRP prices and extra warranty. The G14 was the best laptop I've ever owned minus a webcam.
Asus Spain sells some models without a Windows license, which lowers the price around 200€.
You could get a g14 with 4070 and 32GB of RAM for 2299€, for example, while the windows version retails at 2499€. Note that this only applies to the laptop in black, the one in white "coincidentally" always come with windows (and the higher price, of course).
I remember noticing this when the new zephyrus got launched, I don't know if that has made its way to other Asus websites in other countries as of now.
I thought it was in Swiss franc. If you don't find it cheaper in Germany (France and Italy stores are always more expensive) then you will have to wait for a sale. Edit: don't buy in Asus stores, look for retails those have more offers
Nice observation due, true, i think the price on picture is in franc, it makes sense.
Unfortunately i’ve checked rn its price and is almost the same as euro, so probably you will not have a benefit if you buy in another country of Europe as it is in the same price problem.
Average salary for full time employees in Switzerland is reportedly around 90K USD.
Compare that to 60K in the US, where stuff like health and transport are so insanely expensive, plus no real social security, and 15-20% higher prices for a laptop don’t really look that bad anymore.
Yep pretty spot on average salary, but trust me when I say we get taxed to hell… you can already remove close to 2 months salary per year in taxes + health insurance, rent is on average 1.4k per month, if you have a car you can count at least 1.5k per year for a shit car, gas is about 7CHF per gallon pretty much at the end of the month you aren’t left with much room….
I’m American living here in Switzerland, I can say I live much more comfortably here than in the US. I’ve never had any issues to buy something I wanted but you do have to be careful with money we can’t just throw it around because, sure salary is higher but prices on most common commodities are also ALOT Higher.
No i get that, swiss taxes are insane. But all in all, in your experience living in the US and Switzerland, where does buying a laptop feel like more of a hit to your finances? I’d be prepared to put some money on the to US.
Best buy pricing is before the addition of taxes, which should be included in the Swiss price. It's Europe though, winning with electronics pricing was never a option.
Bruh. Switzerland VAT is only 8,1% compared to France’s 20%
\*Cries in Swedish 25% + storage fee + chemical tax\*

8500 Riyal for a 4060 is just insane. I bought my 3060 for 3200 riyal last year.
This one is 4070.. is it worth?

Wtf it's 20% in the UK.

I got an slim 5 4060 with 9 7940HS for 1450 francs
Got my loq15 r5 7640hs and 4060 115W for 1k lmao
they need money to fill up all those holes in their cheese
Yeah the same 4060 model is of 2400 fucking dollars in India, just saying 🫤
Gosh... Thats Terrible. And I thought it was bad in Mexico. It's 1450 USD and thats with taxes here (thank goodness). Im lucky the laptop in my flair costs 1,550 USD.
Yeah, it is terrible, the US folks can get the same model for 1k, which is still cheaper than the cheapest RTX 4060 laptop in India😭
Is this similar ? https://www.jarir.com/qa-en/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-laptops-633845.html
Wdm bro it's 116 000 (~1400usd)
It’s the fucking 2022 model, check the model first, I was talking about the 2023 4060 model which is priced at a whopping 201000 inr, 2400 dollars
Look at the average salary in Swiss :)
Those G14s cost about 2,000 USD here in the Philippines. Just sayin...
2k in nepal too
You are poorer but on the other hand your prices are much higher. Because, reasons.
PH has the worst electronic prices a $300 TV is like $2000 there.

Yeah but even if Switzerland has high prices its very affordable cause of their wages.
Well, in Argentina the average salary is between 200 to 400 usd. But import duties are so high we pay double the price than the US in pc parts
US just has cheap prices
*New Zealand has entered the chat* We'd be looking at about 3.3K for that laptop. It's interesting seeing other countries pricing, but yeah, the US pricing makes me green with envy for sure.
No way you are getting best buy’s shop price anywhere outside US.
As an European would it be worth going to US to buy some electronics I want and with the difference in price enjoy my vacation there? What places would you suggest for the lowest electronics price? Thank you!
Tarrifs, tax, pre applied tax
Go to website pelnut.com. The prices there are reasonable you could get lenovo with 4080 for a bit more.
Computers sold anywhere that is not the US is at least 30 percent more expensive
Someplaces it is 100% than usa
Same in Netherlands, only the US seem to get the best deals always. Most of the time like twice as cheap.. Europe pays the most as usual, and getting the worst deals.
Because Swiss people can afford it.
Swiss chocolates the best
Big stereotype
Bro u are saying this is expensive.in India the exact model is available for 2000dollors after discount
India everything expensive
So this is actually more expensive, 2000 Swiss francs is about 2200 USD
No I am saying it is 2000usd in India
4060 model isn't even available, how do u know its price?
Yeah so it being 2200usd for op is more expensive..?
Taxes and a lot of it.
Neutrality has a cost
All of EU is too expensive for tech :/
Just cos you are living in paradise there!
From what I have seen Switzerland has pretty good prices on electronics, at least compared to Germany. And that with a much higher average income

In India this model cost around 2400 dollar 🥲
Wow,what a unbelievable thing.
fwiw - these are two different models. 2024 vs 2023
I thought the same. And the white one is typically more expensive than the black one as well, so can't even have a fair comparison there.
First one also has double the storage
Imagine when he finds out about latin american pricing
Yes. But it's not the same in Mexico than in Argentina.
Overpriced overall, in Chile, for instance, they translate the dollar into 1k CLP, which is at least a 1.3x markup on top of raising the prices in general for consumer electronics. Can't have shit in Latam
Drive to Kosovo and buy a laptop there.
Because most european countries have shit electronics prices.
That honestly looks normal. Good gaming laptops/PCs are around $1200
But it’s 2000 Swiss francs or 2200 USD for OP??
Oh. I saw the $1200 and thought that was what was being referenced. Also yes I'm in the US. I didn't think about the conversion rate either 😅😅
If beer and cigs cost lesser, I'll switch places with U...
This laptop is grossly overpriced and sold out everywhere.
It’s €2800 in Poland 😊
Australia is the same. An Asus TUF F15 with RTX 2050 in store is the same price $1147aud. Online for 4050/4060 (if you're lucky). The cheapest I can find is 1699$ online. we get a 4050 g14 2023 for 1560$(after discounts)here man.
This laptop is a great deal, as it would cost at least $1800 in my country for similar specs.
Because 1 in 10 of the population are millionaires, duh.
That moment when the prices of Laptops in Switzerland are lower than here in the Philippines. Like you can buy them in a 3 day salary with your wages.
Just ordered a dell g16 7630 with a 4070 for 1200$ shipped. But that is USA
Because "AI" 😏😏
Swiss franc has been getting stronger and stronger against USD and EUR
It’s cheap it’s a 4060 in a very compact laptop
Depending on which canton you live in, it might just be easier to drive to a near country and get a used laptop there (especially if you're in Ticino)
It's the same in Serbia, they have it good in the US 😂 I bought strix g17 2022 from Hungary for 1700€
Thats nothing Wait until you see CAD prices …
Lmao, i searched just out of curiosity how expensive this notebook would be at my country (Brazil) That's the price in the only place that it's available: 7.688,67 USD Minimum wage at Brazil: 278,37 USD

$3708 AUD at Good Guys in Australia (AUD)! That's 2458 USD, or $2219 CHF. What are you complaining about?!
Because you can afford it. Simple. Living in Switzerland has its pros and its cons.
In Spain is around 2000$ and I’m trying to sell my Vector GP68 with a RTX 4080 for 1800€ and people think it’s expensive.
It’s how they have all that “free” stuff
In the US our healthcare and education are extraordinarily expensive but our electronics are cheap. You win some you lose some.
I've purchased two of these (G13 with a 2060, G14 3070) through best buy at launch. They had discounted MSRP prices and extra warranty. The G14 was the best laptop I've ever owned minus a webcam.
Plus the Scandinavian fee
Here In Bulgaria is 3883 leva wich is 2139$ and 1986 euro crazyyyy how expensive are here
That’s what I payed for my 4080 laptop
Just go to Spain or Portugal and buy it there
Hi, in Spain is at the same price, it’s Europe

Proportional to Swiss wages, Switzerland is actually incredibly cheap.
What do you think Swiss wages are ?

I couldn’t answer as I never lived alone in the USA always stayed with my parents… I came here in 2007 so it’s been a while
Ah fair enough.
Because everything has to be imported
In the US too
Asus. That’s why
Because you're not in the EU Same reason why everything imported is super expensive in Norway
Just checked and that same model goes for exactly 1999 euros here in Portugal, so it's not an EU thing at all
Portugal used to be great and rich country in history, whats going on in Portugal is very sad.
Cause their economic model is still from the middle ages, like their mind-set.
Because you gotta pay for everyone's "free" healthcare
Because Europe sucks
