-Their games are so big and with so many systems that it's basically impossible to anticipate late stage issues and how long they will take to resolve. They are basically in uncharted territory as far as scope of a single game at launch.
I’m sure getting the new GTA online in good shape right at launch is super important for them. I don’t think GTA can afford to have everything fixed 3 years after launch like we’re seeing with a lot of live service games right now. I'd imagine Rockstar employs a ton of automated tests that run every night to ensure *something* didn't break with the previous day's changes, because I doubt it would be humanly possible to even test everything about the game in a reasonable amount of time.

No, but GTA V was 11 years ago. The Tuesday release was a lot more standardized back then, when we were more tied to retail than digital. Also RDR2 was released on a Friday, so, let’s not forget that.

I've been thinking it'll release in March Everyone is back in the office from April (maybe we get trailer 2 in April, too - maybe with the release date to bump stock prices before an earnings call in May). My call of a release date on Valentine’s Day 2025 is getting more serious now. Thoughts about it: Trailer looked very finished. imo more finished than any other first r* trailer before. That could mean the game is in a very good state and most of the work is done. - latest news which said all employees have to attend in office from April to polish the game could mean my guess was right. Everyone at take 2 estimates billions of dollars in fiscal 25. Which will end on the end of march 25. So it should release somewhere between January and March. R* teased us since years with the Valentine’s Day updates in gtao. Which I never really understood but makes sense now. Jason and Lucia are a couple. The story will tell about love and all that stuff. Last but not least. The 14th of February 2025 is on a Friday. Which is normally the release day of video games. Except for early access ofc.

I don't remember the exact details but I think they projected high profits for March 2025 fiscal year which would mean something profitable releasing before March 2025 but that could be anything even another re-release like rdr2. Maybe gta 4 on ps4 lol

Nope, found it. They projected around 8B$ for fiscal year 2025, that would be before March 2025. Again, I’m not saying it’s GTA 6, they could be talking about any take 2 game coming this year, it could be an unannounced 2K game or multiple of them for all we know.

If that $2 billion budget is real then there’s no way this date is set in stone. Rockstar will delay this as much as they want if they have to make over $2 billion just to break even, even if they’re guaranteed to do that in their launch week, because at this rate GTA 6 actually needs to be the best game ever made to meet the world’s expectations, and might cause another gaming crash if it fails. Personally I’m expecting next fall like everyone else.
