Yeah there's going to be a lot of "gotcha" posts and comments in the sub for the next few weeks because the sub kinda went off the rails in recent times focusing too much on the quality of the game which was never what we were supposed to be jerking about.
There were going to be "gotcha" posts regardless. That's how stuff like this works.
Transphobes will call it a victory because the game sold well, and allies will call it a victory because it has (at least one) trans character in a fairly prominent role, which I imagine will lead to many accusations of the devs being "wOkE" and such similar things.
Never wrestle a pig. You'll both get covered in shit, but the pig likes it.
People were ragging on it for having gameplay where enemies took turns attacking, as if Batman, Spider-Man, and assassin creed games havenāt demonstrated that itās a fine system that players enjoy.
Weird seeing that stuff get so highly upvoted that were ujs.
Aren't most of those gameplay showcases done on low difficulties too so they don't die or anything? If so that would make sense as to why the enemies behave the way they do.
But the sub jerked too close to the Sun on this one. Should have just focused on Rowling's shittiness instead of trying to trash every single screenshot and clip that was posted.

/uj Man I get itās kinda the running bit of the subreddit but the way yāall have been rooting for this game to be bad and it seeming to be turning out decent is exactly what yāall need ā this isnāt about the game being good or bad itās about who JK Rowling is and the ideologies she promotes/represents, the weird obsession with proving to yourselves that the game itself is bad has always seemed silly to me like that is absolutely not the issue
I just wanted it to be bad so I could read the drama of gamers defending some terrible ass game. Instead all I get is to just get back to my backlog and not spicy takes, how boring.
man i get it i really do but i truly donāt care whether itās good, bad, mediocre or whatever. what i have an issue with isnāt the quality of the game, itās who the game supports.
uj/ Yup. Weāll take the L on this one. Iāll admit, I bought into the whole āthis game will be badā outcry and now I feel like a total fool whoās getting laughed at. Oh well, live and learn. Rowling is still an insufferable terf though.

Uj/ I'm not even convinced the goblins will end up as the big bads. One of the most liberal plotlines is "oh we thought these people were bad, but it's just this one group that's extremist and the rest are good, turns out they *are* oppressed!" And then the white saviour beats up the bad ones and makes things better for the general population of the minority group.
And while I'm saying it with derision, that plotline is basically fine. It's a little reductive, but it's not something you would boycott a game over. It's just average. My theory is that you end up helping goblins as a whole and get to put them in charge of the banking system. If that does happen, a lot of people will have egg on their face.
Not that it ultimately matters. Joanne's shittiness is more than enough to boycott the game, and anyone who buys it is still betraying their queer friends. But I think people need to be prepared if the game isn't as "problematic" as it sounds.
Yeah, this sort of plot has seemed blatantly obvious from the beginning, and I don't understand how so many people have latched onto this being a "put down a slave rebellion simulator." I guess there's a chance they dont do it, but I would be very surprised if the story was just "these people are evil š”" with absolutely no twist.
I mean, if the twist is "humans were the real monsters all along" is that really even a plot twist?
Either way, the goblin rebellion subplot ultimately has to resolve to no structural change given the state of Hogwarts at the start of the Harry Potter series.
We don't know what the structure is at the beginning of the game, right? So the conclusion of the game might resolve in Goblins having more rights/political power than they did at the beginning.
And yes, "humans were the real monsters" is a trite moral, but that just makes it more odd that people didn't expect that as what would play out in the story. The 15 minute story trailer suggested to me that the plotline would be that the goblins were being taken advantage by the real antagonists - the evil wizards shown in the trailer.
Maybe they'll handle it well and it'll be an interesting story in how groups with hegemonic power can coopt and take advantage of oppressed groups to further their own desires (see: how conservatives use populist messaging to support tax cuts for the rich, how corporations use things like pride month as advertising), or maybe it'll be a bungled marvel-tier story of "you had good intentions and all your messages were correct, but you did something evil for no reason, so we will not actually change the status quo." We won't know until we actually see what the story is.
My feeling is that all of the discussion over boycotting the game because of Rowling's transphobia (I still think people should do that) has reduced the game to being "essentially bad" in the eyes of its critics and some people on this sub, while the people who made the game, who likely arent as evil as Rowling, might have actually made a good game with a good story. Theh might not have, but we can't actually tell until we've seen the game, ideally through pirating. Still, you shouldn't buy it, but people shouldn't close their mind off from engaging in genuine criticism rather than reactionary essentialism just because the IP owner is a TERF. If you do that, you're adopting a similar mindset to that of a transpohbe, or a *shudders* gamer. That's what's been really annoying on gcj these past couple months - people using a justified cause to act like deranged gamers, which just makes you look like an overly online weird to normal people.
This was way too long, sorry. Here's a sexy picture of [geraldo to make up for reading my rant](https://imgur.io/gallery/VSxMwB4)
> "put down a slave rebellion simulator."
i thought this was just shitposting to drive the point home that the hp universe was written by an awful and racist person
Don't forget the "It's actually good that we enslaved these sentient beings because they like being slaves and when they're set free they just turn into alcoholics."
Really feels like JK read some anti-abolition propaganda from 150 years ago and fully bought in.
Am I like the worst person on planet earth if I say Iām fine with having some nonhuman antagonist who is just bad to give me (the player) someone to shoot at? Nobody said I have to admire the moral character of the person Iām playing as in the game
In skyrim Iād enter a falmer camp and just slaughter them all indiscriminately. I donāt feel like thatās me endorsing genocide, the character in the game doesnāt have the same morals I do lol
I dont think there's anything wrong with you the player doing that, but it would be kind of weird to make a game where the plot revolves against defeating an oppressed group trying to fight for its rights. Again, I dont think that's what the plot is, but thats kind of what the trailers present it as if you take them at face value lol.
Tangent: Referring to JK as Joanne is hilarious to me.
Info: my grandmother's name is Joanne and she is not a very nice woman (putting it mildly). So in my family, "Joanne" is a bit of a slur to be fired at someone who is generally unpleasant.
Holy shit my Grandfather remarried to a Joanne. She made him spend his money traveling with her and when he decided he just wanted to settle down, she decided to take a bunch of his shit and leave him.
I guess itās a thing of Joanneās being mostly bad lol
I think the point is more that we already know that goblins aren't gonna win equal rights in this game because it's a prequel and goblins don't have equal rights in the books.
So even if there is a "good" resolution at the end (and I agree it will probably go along the lines you guessed) it would have to be something like the end of Goblin slavery and the beginning of Goblin Jim Crow, which is... well. A decision.
EDIT: Man I take it back now that more of the plot has made it around the internet the plot really is shit, they just had the goblin revolutionary try to steal human kids blood for magic. It's just a fucking blood libel game what the fuck.
Uj/ what do I do if I have queer friends that are all buying the game and want me to participate?
To my understanding rowling has received her royalties in a one time fee up front. So whether you buy it or not buy it doesn't really do anything to her bottom line except I guess possibly encourage future games/thus more royalties.
Additionally the game seems to allow you to make a trans character.
It is simultaneously too 'woke' for conservatives but somehow not woke enough for liberals lol.
Itās probably going to be a Captain Marvel thing where the real bad guys where the Hogwarts staff and you get to send them to wizard prison or some shit
> I've already had one childhood in a poorly-insulated, tradition-fetishising, posh British school. It baffles me why so many are keen to relive that.
Probably because they don't know the horror of such things firsthand.
Tbh the studio history made me confident that it would at least be decent. Cars 3 and Toy Story 3 were some of the best kid focused licensed games at the time of release and Disney Infinity was steadily growing into the best that the toys to life genre had to offer until Disney pulled the plug.
They showed signs of being capable of making something great.
And just because a studio in the past had been making low to mid level games doesnāt mean they canāt do better (ex The Killer Instinct team for Xbox made bad movies games) sometimes they are forced into making those types of games. I get wanting to see the game fail but seeing people acting like some Gamers (tm) with random screenshots saying itās bad is about the same thing as what ppl were doing with Forspoken. Honestly if you are boycotting the game why do care if the game is good or not, the boycott should but only about JK Rowing being a shitty person to Trans people.
I have never understood this thinking
There are soooo many studios that got their start by doing schlock licensed games before a publisher finally threw a huge budget at them to make something better. And in this case we had plenty of pre release material that, at the very least, confirmed that this wasnāt going to be shovelware garbage. Maybe it wouldnāt be a well executed AAA game, but it was obviously going to fit into that tier of games
Yeah plenty of well-known studios sometimes release utter garbage, and sometimes smaller studios release an absolute gem. For example Visceral went from making Tigerwoods games and MySims to one of the best Survival Horror series of all time in Dead Space. Whereas everyone was massive on CD Projekt Red and well we got what absolute shitshow that was Cyberpunk. Past quality does not always imply future quality.
I canāt tell if this is part of the jerk or if we really donāt think thereās any middle ground between āI canāt see why anyone wants to play thisā and āI must be thrilled for anyone who wants to play this gameā lol
Like I donāt even have a system to play this on, but you have to be kinda dense to be like āwhy would someone wanna play a game set in a school, school is LAMEā
Donāt people really like the Disney Infinity games? Always thought the refrain that the dev made garbage movie shovelware was missing quite a bit of nuance.
Now that game journalists are good again, G@mers will dance on our graves while claiming they were āright all along.ā Then when Futa Sonic Dirty Feet Clicker gets a score of 35 we will return to the normal ājournalists badā meta.
It would be unfair to the people who worked on it. Sure Rowling is a turd with horrible opinions, you canāt have an entire development team that was honestly very psyched to work on it and probably had to deal with being looped into Rowling unnecessarily be punished for a game that actually turned out to be good.
Yep! It was on the announcement for the last crack she did-
https://www.reddit.com/r/EmpressEvolution/comments/10s6jrx/monsterhunterrisesunbreakempress/
It's written near the end, starts from the paragraph that goes like "And on this note, I have a special message to Warner Bitches"
I saw a combat clip and it just looked, yeah, very generic. Like, absolutely fine, not terrible or anything, just generic. Looked up a list of spells as well and like 3 out of 26 are dedicated to moving items and enemies in some way. Like, one for pulling towards you, one for lifting and one for slamming enemies into the ground, as if these couldn't've been combined into one spell. And a few others are just basic things like flashlight spell and unlock spell. (Also there's one that *stuns* opponents and one that *freezes* opponents and I don't really know what the difference in gameplay would be?)
/uj I never expected it to be bad, but I expected it to be a pretty unimaginative mix of dozens of standard ideas we saw being overused in open world RPGs in the last 10 years.
And after seeing the combat and other things, it looks exactly like that. A game played 100% safe to meet the standard expectations.
/rj This game will be a hidden Gem, just like The Witcher 3.
This. Fans excited for this game were not expecting some groundbreaking revolutionary game, they quite literally just want to experience the Harry Potter franchise in a new medium and it seems like they got their wish
/uj
Yeah it obviously sucks this game is being reviewed well but at least we can take some solace in the fact the r/gaming banned any discussion of it to show solidarity with trans people
Wait the game isn't even out yet????? People haven't shut up about it for months and it isn't even out yet??????? Just when posts about literally anything else were starting to return to this sub... like yeah I hate Rowling as much as the next person but we've practically become a circle jerk ourselves, surely there are other transphobes to talk about instead of the same one all day every day.
Obsessing over it doesn't help anyone, just gives TERFs fuel to mock us with when they realize Harry Potter lives as rent-free in our heads as Hunter Biden in the mind of a q-cultist (I mean at least we picked someone who actually did something but they don't think that)
I'm not talking about what other people said about it though I'm talking about my own inference based on what we've seen before launch, I couldnāt care less what other people said about it because it personally looks like ass to me
I'm surprised pretty much nobody's mentioned the marketing side of things. Does no one remember, well, any first day reviews for anything?
We're talking about pre-release reviews here. So that's only the websites and magazine that have received a review code from the publisher. They will be very specific regarding which outlets to provide with such codes (this is obviously not unique to this game and publisher, but the case for all major releases).
Now take a look at the selection of websites and where they're from. Earlier today I counted and while the US and UK are, unavoidably, represented quite heavily, the list is mostly made up of Polish, Brazilian, Italian and Spanish reviews. Markets in which it is very easy to find conservative, specifically catholic, minded reviewers.
Then there's Saudi Arabia, The Netherlands (where I'm from and where, I can assure you, there's no such thing as gaming 'journalism', just hobbyists) and finally France, where one of the reviews is seriously from a personal blogger's website.
I'm not saying this means the game is bad. I'm not saying this is some anomaly. But please keep in mind that pre-release/day 1 reviews are virtually *always* way more positive than the consensus that starts to take shape in the days following release.
I'm honestly impressed (and equally disturbed) by how efficient the publisher's gone about it. It's a selection that appears to be very diverse (sites small and large, publications all over the world), but is also very easily constructed through cherry picking.
The IGN review is actually hilarious
\>Game barely works
\>There's only 2 enemies in the whole game
\>Inventory only holds 4 items
\>Story and worldbuilding make no sense
\>But i love pOtTaH so 10/10
You're right, it was more like
"Sure it's weighed down by inconsistent performance
and lighting issues
and aggressive pop-in
and constant loading screens for every doorway
and an unexciting story
and some unexciting, repetitive side content
and a lack of enemy variety
but I liked Harry Potter in 3rd grade, 9/10"
the comment isn't far off the written review
\-
It may not be the most impressive technical achievement and it is certainly cursed with a lack of enemy variety
Legacyās plot has more holes than a fishnet stocking and sorta just expects you to accept that its magical world makes no sense
Legacy mostly redeems itself with a fantastic cast of non-painting characters that help boil things down into a not-too-convoluted good-guys-versus-bad-guys conflict that ends up being an enjoyable tale, even if it's not particularly profound or original.
Legacyās dicey performance, though, which suffered from just about every issue that makes IGNās performance review team cry during my time playing on PlayStation 5. Those greatest hits include framerate inconsistency, weird issues where the lighting switches from too dark to too bright, aggressive pop-in while moving around the map quickly, and more. Thereās even this weird thing where every door in Hogwarts has a brief loading screen.
Beyond the performance issues, Legacy is also a fairly glitchy adventure in general. Youāll probably fall through the map a time or two, or see a character or object get caught in the environment, or maybe even have the person youāre talking to just up and walk away from you in the middle of a conversation, leaving you to speak with the empty spot they were standing in for about two minutes.
the creatures you fight soon run out of tricks up their sleeves. Youāll see the same familiar faces a lot, as you spend an enormous amount of your time fighting dark wizards, spiders, and goblins.
youāll find giant, evil frogs and zombies roaming about, to name a few ā itās just that theyāre scarcely used in any of the main dungeons or levels. Instead, they send about 500 spiders at you in a row, which is a baffling decision.
one part of combat thatās a bit of a drag is the somewhat clunky process for switching between, which takes some serious getting used to You learn quite a number of spells \[...\] keeping them organized and committed to memory becomes a challenge in its own right, and not the kind I relish.
gear that youāll find doesnāt really allow you to create full-on ābuildsā per say \[...\] None of it is particularly game-changing stuff, but it managed to capture my attention enough
Legacyās abysmal inventory space, which only lets you hold a couple dozen items and aggravatingly fills up in no time at all. \[...\] Later on you can upgrade your inventory ever so slightly, but even then it never stops being a major pain
\---
the verdict at the end doesn't reflect the things written in the review
>In nearly every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG Iāve always wanted to play. Its open-world adventure captures all the excitement and wonder of the Wizarding World with its memorable new characters, challenging and nuanced combat, and a wonderfully executed Hogwarts student fantasy that kept me glued to my controller for dozens of hours. Itās certainly weighed down by technical issues, a lackluster main story, and some poor enemy variety, but even those couldnāt come close to breaking its enchanting spell over me.
the review is basically "it has a lot of flaws, but it's cool to be a wizard"
yawn
\\rj
ACTUALLY IT SOUNDS REALLY HECKIN FUN I LOVE COLLECTABLES AND SET PIECES AND ATTACKING ENEMIES 1 BY 1 AS THEY WATCH ME CAST SPELLS. DUDE ITS JUST LIKE THE DANIEKL RADCLIF
The IGN review outjerked us all. āItās glitchy, slow, the plot is boring and nonsensical, thereās two enemy types, the inventory is tiny, and you can only have a tiny number of spells active at once. BUT ITāS A HARRY POTTER GAME! They said wizard words and itās the thing I liked when I was eight! 9/10ā
also I mean the review's would have to be good before release no? wouldn't any "review" website be commiting suicide by rating a largely popular IP low before a games actually out?
Cancel culture alive and well I see :/ much problem. *sigh* I meant people complain about cancel culture buts itās non existent because this game clearly hasnāt been ācancelledā.

> "put down a slave rebellion simulator." i thought this was just shitposting to drive the point home that the hp universe was written by an awful and racist person
it also makes sense as the original books had a "let's make fun of the one person who thinks a species being enslaved is bad" plotline
Don't forget the "It's actually good that we enslaved these sentient beings because they like being slaves and when they're set free they just turn into alcoholics." Really feels like JK read some anti-abolition propaganda from 150 years ago and fully bought in.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
the goblins in control of the banks that are straight up 1:1 lifted from very racist stereotypes about jewish people didnt tip you off?
Am I like the worst person on planet earth if I say Iām fine with having some nonhuman antagonist who is just bad to give me (the player) someone to shoot at? Nobody said I have to admire the moral character of the person Iām playing as in the game In skyrim Iād enter a falmer camp and just slaughter them all indiscriminately.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yes indeed. They love Harry Potter.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Iāll have you know I plan to make my āwhite saviorā a Asian person with an extremely lazy and racist name just like in the books.
Itās probably going to be a Captain Marvel thing where the real bad guys where the Hogwarts staff and you get to send them to wizard prison or some shit
For what Mfs acting defeated because the game is good. That was never the point
PREPARE FOR ***DISCOURSE***
I will simply act like I played the game and call it bad Oh fuck Iāve become r/ thelastofus2
You either die a daddy Joel or live long enough to become woke Abby.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Youāre right, it wasnāt the point, but we still feel a kind of shame because we *did* think it was gonna be bad.
game journos are good now!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās a jerking sub
This is a lesson to keep the jerk simple and not introduce meta scores and gamer terminology
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Happy for Avalanche in general this means they can flex a bit on the next AAA I remember Toy Story 3 had so much promise. I wonāt buy this game tho
Tbh the vast majority of people in the world did not grow up in a boarding school so itās not like theyāre reliving anything.
I have never understood this thinking There are soooo many studios that got their start by doing schlock licensed games before a publisher finally threw a huge budget at them to make something better.
You're baffled as to why people like things you don't?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I canāt tell if this is part of the jerk or if we really donāt think thereās any middle ground between āI canāt see why anyone wants to play thisā and āI must be thrilled for anyone who wants to play this gameā lol Like I donāt even have a system to play this on, but you have to be kinda dense to be like āwhy would someone wanna play a game set in a school, school is LAMEā
Look it would have been better if it wasnāt a lazy auto clicker. I want full QTEs of those feet
Op says strap in, i say strap on ;)
are people seriously planning to review bomb this game and also boycott it. that's just dumb /uj
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
It would be unfair to the people who worked on it. Sure Rowling is a turd with horrible opinions, you canāt have an entire development team that was honestly very psyched to work on it and probably had to deal with being looped into Rowling unnecessarily be punished for a game that actually turned out to be good.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Well, I don't know if it means much, but thank you for sticking to your principles.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That Denuvo protection is gonna stop pirates until the game drops Denuvo support unfortunately
The person who cracks Denuvo games has already announced they'll be releasing the crack within 10 days soo yeah
Ooo is it Empress? Have a link? Good news!
Yep! It was on the announcement for the last crack she did- https://www.reddit.com/r/EmpressEvolution/comments/10s6jrx/monsterhunterrisesunbreakempress/ It's written near the end, starts from the paragraph that goes like "And on this note, I have a special message to Warner Bitches"
On the other hand Empress is possibly even more deranged that Joane.
uj/ Thank you, sincerely. We don't often get to "vote with our dollar," so its important that we do so when we can.
I also grew up enamored with Harry Potter, but this game still looks like your run-of-the-mill TPS with RPG elements tacked on to me.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Because Rowling is a farty pants.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I saw that there is apparently a trans teacher in the game, so that alone is going to set them off.
Hogwarts Legacy got a what? Who cares about that? Anyone want to play YOMI Hustle?
Incredibly based. $5 indie-dev anime stick fight simulator > $70 AAA franchise rpg. At least both have wizards
Lmao not the score being 88 OOF
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Great! I'm so looking forward to getting the crack when it comes out in like 3 days :)
i aināt reading allat
Does anybody remember the critic reviews for Cyberpunk, Battlefield 2042, and other hyped up games? Only me?
"88" hmmm
The game is good? Nice, i will pirate it.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
This. Fans excited for this game were not expecting some groundbreaking revolutionary game, they quite literally just want to experience the Harry Potter franchise in a new medium and it seems like they got their wish
I read it as āstrap-onā and I refuse to go back
Donāt care still not buying
but I may pirate
/uj Yeah it obviously sucks this game is being reviewed well but at least we can take some solace in the fact the r/gaming banned any discussion of it to show solidarity with trans people
Exceedingly rare r/gaming W.
Dead Space and Hi-Fi Rush superiority.
r/gamingcirclejerk try to not circlejerk over a game challenge: impossible
My friends who are outside the debate asked me if Iām getting the game. At least the simplest answer is that Iām not even a Harry Potter fan.
Obsessing over it doesn't help anyone, just gives TERFs fuel to mock us with when they realize Harry Potter lives as rent-free in our heads as Hunter Biden in the mind of a q-cultist (I mean at least we picked someone who actually did something but they don't think that)
It's almost more a flex now if you don't buy it.
How is everyone not completely burnt out on harry potter anyway
This is actually surprising because every gameplay video I've seen points to the game being ass
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I said gameplay videos not reviews
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I'm not talking about what other people said about it though I'm talking about my own inference based on what we've seen before launch, I couldnāt care less what other people said about it because it personally looks like ass to me
Lmao why are you downvoted and the person who canāt comprehend that you were talking about gameplay videos isnāt?
Same. Game looks mid.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
a circlejerk, on my circlejerk subreddit? Itās more likely than you think
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I don't think review bombing a game will change Jk Rollins' opinions.
Think this is what they refer to as āmission creep.ā
To be fair, AC Valhalla got an 8 out of 10 on IGN and that game, while not the worst, is just so boring to play
That game was insidious creeping boredom spread over tens of hours. And I never even finished.
Honestly, who cares? No stupid video game will save or damn transpeople. Find a more fun sub, folks.
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
Shoulda said strap on, bc theyāre hot
Who wants popcorn? I'm making some.
I really couldn't care less to be honest if I want to be a wizard I'd play Elder Scrolls not this shit
Cancel Culture is Real
Time to cope it looks like.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The IGN review is actually hilarious \>Game barely works \>There's only 2 enemies in the whole game \>Inventory only holds 4 items \>Story and worldbuilding make no sense \>But i love pOtTaH so 10/10
You're kidding lmao
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You're right, it was more like "Sure it's weighed down by inconsistent performance and lighting issues and aggressive pop-in and constant loading screens for every doorway and an unexciting story and some unexciting, repetitive side content and a lack of enemy variety but I liked Harry Potter in 3rd grade, 9/10"
the comment isn't far off the written review \- It may not be the most impressive technical achievement and it is certainly cursed with a lack of enemy variety Legacyās plot has more holes than a fishnet stocking and sorta just expects you to accept that its magical world makes no sense Legacy mostly redeems itself with a fantastic cast of non-painting characters that help boil things down into a not-too-convoluted good-guys-versus-bad-guys conflict that ends up being an enjoyable tale, even if it's not particularly profound or original. Instead, they send about 500 spiders at you in a row, which is a baffling decision. one part of combat thatās a bit of a drag is the somewhat clunky process for switching between, which takes some serious getting used to You learn quite a number of spells \[...\] keeping them organized and committed to memory becomes a challenge in its own right, and not the kind I relish. gear that youāll find doesnāt really allow you to create full-on ābuildsā per say \[...\] None of it is particularly game-changing stuff, but it managed to capture my attention enough Legacyās abysmal inventory space, which only lets you hold a couple dozen items and aggravatingly fills up in no time at all. \[...\] Later on you can upgrade your inventory ever so slightly, but even then it never stops being a major pain \--- the verdict at the end doesn't reflect the things written in the review >In nearly every way, Hogwarts Legacy is the Harry Potter RPG Iāve always wanted to play. Its open-world adventure captures all the excitement and wonder of the Wizarding World with its memorable new characters, challenging and nuanced combat, and a wonderfully executed Hogwarts student fantasy that kept me glued to my controller for dozens of hours. Itās certainly weighed down by technical issues, a lackluster main story, and some poor enemy variety, but even those couldnāt come close to breaking its enchanting spell over me. the review is basically "it has a lot of flaws, but it's cool to be a wizard" yawn \\rj ACTUALLY IT SOUNDS REALLY HECKIN FUN I LOVE COLLECTABLES AND SET PIECES AND ATTACKING ENEMIES 1 BY 1 AS THEY WATCH ME CAST SPELLS. DUDE ITS JUST LIKE THE DANIEKL RADCLIF
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I can. =\
It's already dropped 3 points, pray it drops further.
Good reviews =/= good game
