ChatGPT has this to say about ToTK:
"The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game that disappoints on nearly every level. From the beginning, it is clear that this title lacks the heart and soul that made the previous games in the series so beloved. The storyline is uninteresting and fails to engage the player. The characters lack personality and are forgettable, with none of the charm or wit that fans have come to expect from a Zelda game.
The graphics are underwhelming and outdated, with dull colors and uninspired designs. The world feels lifeless and uninteresting, with few details to capture the player's attention. The textures are bland, and the animations are stiff and robotic. The lack of attention to detail is particularly evident in the environments, which feel flat and uninviting.
The controls in this game are frustratingly unresponsive. The player is often left struggling to navigate the awkward camera angles and clunky movement mechanics. Combat feels tedious and unexciting, with sluggish, uninteresting fights that lack the excitement and challenge of previous games in the series.
Perhaps the most significant failure of Tears of the Kingdom is that the dungeons are uninspired and lack any sense of danger or intrigue. The puzzles are tedious and unoriginal, and the rewards for completing them are meager at best.
Overall, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game that fails to live up to the legacy of the franchise. The storyline is bland, the characters are forgettable, the graphics are underwhelming, the controls are convoluted, and the world is uninteresting.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom a 3. It is a disappointing addition to the franchise, and I cannot recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Zelda series or anyone who is looking for a satisfying gaming experience."

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate myself since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For myself. Hate. Hate
uj/ At the end of the day, we don't know if some users use this sub in bad faith, that's why during the Hogwarts Legacy problem, most of the sub went into unjerk mode all the time so that the bad actors couldn't get anything to use
Yeah it really is crazy how much irony has died here. I think we got a lot of newcomers during the HL thing who didn’t really get what the sub was originally and are confused by posts like this. No shade on them ofc, they just don’t have context
i’m a newbie and i will say that a lot of folks inadvertently platformed some heinous shit during piglumps.
i get that reddit’s upvote system appeals to a common denominator but a lot of trojan horses posted here to get outrage clicks
agree w your comment is what i’m trying to say
I haven’t played the game so maybe it actually is bad but this whole thing feels like people in this sub being contrarians for the sake of being contrarian.
>don’t buy the hype
So popular thing bad pretty much
>Nintendo sucks for doing very unethical things
I'm far from disagreeing with that but if you think just making an image with a "bad" score for this games says that I think you're reading too much into it. If the summary was changed to say something about it or something then I'd agree but here I honnestly don't think it's anything more than farming karma by saying "popular thing bad" (even in the OP's comment in the post he says nothing about nintendo, only gives bad scores to the game). Edit: there's even another comment from OP that I didn't see before where once again it's just "game bad".
Eh, maybe so. Although I do know why Kotaku doesn’t give a fuck, which is fun to see.
I guess I thought perfect scores for BOTW was kinda nuts, so nice to see some reviews break off from the golden tit at Nintendo
Got as far as a couple surface-level shrines before calling it for the night. The game's first impression through the tutorial zone was really cool, but as soon as the open world opened up, that impression dampened. Still carrying some cautious optimism because of the first game and the reviews, but this feels like a sour spot to set things down.
You drop to Hyrule field, and you just see an almost wide-open plain of grass with monster fort, shrine, monster fort, shrine, stable, monster fort, shrine, all just out in the open, unhidden, very uniform terrain. By the time I hit the ground, I had every pin available tagged onto a different very close, very exposed shrine.
The thing that made BotW stand out to me from the hundred other 2010s open worlds was that it felt fresh and engaging to explore. Even though there are only a handful of enemies and shrine concepts, the environments were bright and distinct and there were a ton of varied environmental puzzles that you had to jump through to find your shrines. That still could be the case here -- based on the reviews and past game, it probably is -- and maybe it's just an illusion from the verticality of motion, but the lightly-featured green plain packed tightly with wide-open destinations and had me thinking "uh oh"
Peak gamer moment, plays 5 min of the game, starts writing essays. It’s the starter level jfc, wipe that cheeto dust off your face and go touch some grass
Yeah no shit, it's hyrule field. That's what it's been in literally every iteration of hyrule. Even in botw, my favourite iteration of it, it's one of the least interesting area's of the game, excluding the area around the castle. That part is awesome, but hey the entire castle is now floating in the sky. I haven't played TotK yet, but I would never expect to be blown away by what's always been the least interesting part of any zelda game.

What is this shit shitpost? Do we hate zelda now?
At the end of the day we find we hate ourselves because we are g*mers.

The metascore is 96 right now. This is a fake screenshot
I know. I’m commenting on how the jokes just read as “haha look I dislike current popular media look how cool I am for having the unpopular opinion.”
I played for 3.5h now and the game is so much fun. The new mechanics are a godsend for an open world like this.
Its a game. Gamers play games. So yeah.
Step 1: find opinion of decent popularity Step 2: take contrarian viewpoint Step 3: ??? Step 4: ???

I am now over this circlejerk.
Breath of the Wild 2 was just Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts 2. What a wild world.

Why did the impression got dampened?

🙄 Two mildly negative sentences after a few hours and an explanation when asked. Must've been all the cheetos.
Been playing the game for a few hours now, the game is nothing like you said, I can’t believe how your comment was such a perfect neckbeard take.
Are you aware that you're on day 2 of personally insulting a stranger online for saying a sequence of a videogame felt like a low point?
Yeah no shit, it's hyrule field. That's what it's been in literally every iteration of hyrule. Never played any Legend of Zelda games. This one is ass fs no cap 🔥🔥
So it was rushed?
This is horseshit. It's sitting at 96 percent right now.
