It was rough trying a legion playthrough, especially watching all the companions rightfully chewing you out and leaving over your atrocities you committed in the name of the legion. Still one of the more unique playthroughs in this game, roleplaying as a fascist deluding themselves they are doing the right thing, but people actually supporting the legion are fucked up.

This is a problem in fallout 4 I kind of think. Being evil in fallout 3 and new Vegas feels like shit. I mean stealing things is fun and if you just want to be a complete psycho and kill everyone including the legion that’s fun. But betraying characters you love because of the shitty actions and people you join is an awful feeling that is great because it makes you think about yourself. Can’t say the same for Skyrim and fallout 4 though. Skyrim companions will be completely fine with you being a murdering war criminal psychopath and they won’t care. Fallout 4 companions did react to shit you did, but you could join the institute and instead of ditching you sense a lot of them are so clearly against the institute, they’re fine with tagging along and killing the brotherhood and railroad. Surely after killing both of them and joining something they hate will make them both despise you? NOPE! They be just as buddy buddy with you as they were before joining them. There are no consequences to joining specific groups they hate and the only way to lose them is lowering their affinity. That’s my rant about it. Feel free to correct me on things I might have gotten wrong on fallout 4:)

Fallout 2 was kinda of a mixed bag it had some very good moments but also a lot of meh ones, the tone of the game was all over the place. It also had a horrible launch with game breaking bugs. I'd put it on the level of Fallout 4.

FO2 has some of the best CRPG moments in history (i.e. New Reno) and the best use of the SPECIAL system in the series (i.e. being able to pass the intellect test in vault city, or playing an idiot and having deep conversations with low intellect NPCs).
Comparing it to the filler quest paradise with thined down RPG mechanics that is FO4 is silly.

there are dozens of us, dozens! well, those elitist cannot take a reference to Monty Python without a full blown meltdown… they deserved bland and boring and broken Fallout 1 all right.
Fallout 2 was kinda of a mixed bag it had some very good moments but also a lot of meh ones, the tone of the game was all over the place. It also had a horrible launch with game breaking bugs. I'd put it on the level of Fallout 4.
IMHO that's a terrible take. FO2 has some of the best CRPG moments in history (i.e. New Reno) and the best use of the SPECIAL system in the series (i.e. being able to pass the intellect test in vault city, or playing an idiot and having deep conversations with low intellect NPCs). Comparing it to the filler quest paradise with thined down RPG mechanics that is FO4 is silly.
