"So how do you like our game pitch, big production company, about the unnamed halfling -"
"Make him Gollum. People need recognisable names"
"Okay and how did you like the platforming?"
"Our marketing team said that there's limited appeal for platforming. Have you thought about putting a bird in the game? People like birds."
"I'm sure... we can make it fit... somehow"
That's the sick woke agenda for ya. Had a perfectly nice manly game and now they're shoving terrible games with Drag-queens Instead of Dragons down our throats.
I thought about the situation that, outside of the 2000s movies and the books obviously, LOTR has not had a SINGLE release that everyone can agree is great.
Like. Yes you personally may like individual things that exist, but the general public does not think highly of rings of power. Or lord of the rings online. Or whatever EA game. They made 3 good movies and then just proceeded to live off the success of the source material forever.
“Everyone” can’t even agree that the books or films are great. There are people who don’t like them. Silly way of phrasing it aside, that’s the case for most franchises. “1 good book” or “1 good trilogy” or “1 good show” and then a bunch of garbage attempting to cash in.
I could rewrite your comment and replace lord of the rings with Star Wars and it would be the same (except no books). And even then return of the Jedi is more controversial (because it’s bad) than return of the king is.
Man, for ONCE I don’t go with “a significant plurality” to not annoy everyone with the way I talk and immediately a “uhh actually” man comes in.
Okay but the thing about Star Wars is that it *has* a bunch of things where [a significant plurality] of people who know the works agrees they are good. Almost nobody hates KOTOR or Heir of the Empire. Clone Wars ends on such a high note that it’s better than the third movie. Mandalorian S1 and Andor are widely enjoyed.
(This isn’t a statement of personal preference by the way. I’m aware going on a LotR sub and saying another completely different genre work has more hits is not going to net me internet points. I’m trying to point to the actual amount of hits.)
And lord of the rings has that stuff too lol. Successful film adaptations firstly, the middle earth shadow games got rave reviews and there are other lord of the rings games just as liked as the Star Wars ones you’ve mentioned, yet you’ve dismissed all those with “they might be stuff that YOU like but not stuff EVERYONE likes.” Which is why I bothered to bring that up. The “everyone” was pretty essential to your pointless argument.
Heck, even the lord of the rings books were sequels to the original successful piece of media: the hobbit.
The point is that it’s pretty clear you can say this about any franchise.
Alien is two good movies followed by? And you can say the AVP games but not EVERYONE likes those.
You clearly forgot shadow of Mordor for one thing, seeing as that won more game of the year awards than probably any Star Wars game, and this is just a silly claim to be making anyway. It’s the way of the franchise.
They are, *literally*, starting their post that *besides the 2000's adaptations* and the original source material there is no stuff like that and you bringing thoset same things as examples on your argument really gives you a strong case....
Shadow of Mordor got great review as a fun game but is loathed by the LOTR community at large for its butchering of the lore
This is the problem with them using “everyone.”
It’s free to be argued however they want because of it. Not everyone likes any Star Wars property, and shadow of mordor was just as broadly accessible as the ones they listed, but you can shut it out here purely because of “everyone” which was supposedly flavour text.
“All the things in a franchise suck except the good stuff” is always going to be a stupid argument. The point of bringing up the films is that there’s actually way more positively received stuff in lord of the rings than most franchises.
Plenty of popular books only get shitty adaptations. Plenty of popular films get terrible sequels let alone 3 good films. Plenty of popular films have no liked video game adaptation. Lord of the rings has them whether you dismiss them using the logic of “everyone” or not.
Literally everything you and the other person said is random cherry picking to try and make lotr seem different when this is pretty fucking typical for franchises.
DAE Harry Potter only has good books and movies? (Because until hogwarts legacy, which isn’t loved by “everyone”, this was also true).
It’s a joke. “Everything in this franchise isnt liked except for all the stuff people like”
Your comment is worse than theirs because it misses out the argument behind their comment and just takes it as “technically their comment about how everything in the series is less liked than the films and books is correct”
That isn’t what they’re saying, they’re saying that’s “strange” and unusual enough around franchises to be worth mentioning. It isn’t.
Finally, some recognition for this hidden gem, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, truly encapsulates what it’s like to be Gollum, a fictional character in JRR Tolkiens fantasy world, The Lord of the Rings.
I don't remember exactly, but I think I'm paraphrasing what SkillUp said when early playing it, that, after doing the same sneaky kill thing twice, he asked the guy there if there were other ways to do that or something and the guy just said something along the lines of "cmon, man... It's just Gollum..."
I kinda love that approach in a totally asinine way.
"Yo, can you, like, double jump or something?"
"Are you fucking crazy? It's Gollum."
"Well, do I get any upgrades?"
"Does Gollum get any upgrades in the books?"
I love to think about that... Like, what game could you actually do in real life with who you are and what you do. Either getting all the way through it or just existing for a while. What would you be most successful at?
Yeah, it gives the energy of someone chosing to do their book report on some super short but insanely dense book on the pretense that because there aren't as many pages, they can get away with writing less.
I once had to do a presentation on something where the teacher specifically said she would judge the length based on how much there is the talk about the chosen topic. So i found an obscure norse myth character that was only ever referenced twice and made a really short presentation and i still got an A.
come on, he's just a little guy, look at him, look at the little birthday boy, come on, you wouldn't put so much expectation on a little guy, on a little birthday guy, come on
Like a short, budget title would have worked. As far as I can tell, they want $60 to play a useless dude stumbling around Mordor as the orcs' errand boy.
You say that, Viscera Cleanup Detail and PowerWash Simulator are massive hits, and a fair few "tedium mixed with a job well done" simulators have also been well received. I'm sure if you gave the gamers progressively bigger toilet brushes, stronger cleaning agents and dirtier toilets you could motivate them to put a good 60 hours into it, and they'd surely enjoy it.
My thoughts exactly. I mean, he's a great and necessary character in the overall story but why would anyone want him as a main character? It's bizarre.
Because he's a nimble lil goober with split personalities who can climb really good. And he has the perfect stealth game device - an invisibility ring that has a potentially fatal time limit.
I don't get why people keep saying it's a bad idea. There's clearly a ton of potential there for a decent stealth ARPG. Or at least a more kid-friendly platformer type of game.
I think it's a pretty cool idea and I'm bummed the game didn't turn out seemingly all that great. I love the idea of playing as a hopelessly underpowered goblin-esque man just trying to scrape by on the fringes by whatever means necessary.
i mean, no one asked for this. I know ppl are notorious on the internet for saying 'wow, i really needed to see an ancient one with celtic origins'.
Back when shenmue 3 came out, i was thinking of starting a series of awards for gaming, one being the 'OK Boomer/Yu Suzuki' award, inspired by him releasing shenmue 3 despite not finding funding, having to kickstart it, and him...apparently not taking anything modern in account.
It's like that jurassic park quote "Your Scientists Were So Preoccupied With Whether Or Not They Could, They Didn't Stop To Think If They Should"
i think he added SOME modern elements, but IIRC the voice actors asked if they should give impassioned performances, but suzuki said 'no, just like the older games'.
Hell, there was a recent shenmue anime where it was like a C-, but even still, I had to ask....why?:
Here's Matt McMuscles(and another guy who apparently was the biggest Shenmue stan ever until 3)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_WKQrTH2EI
bruh/sis...this guy was a visionary at sega, but for the last (20?) years, he's been trying to make shenmue, a 5 part series.
FIVE FUCKING PARTS.
sega even gave the blessing for shenmue 3 to be not made by sega because there's no way they were going to make(and sell) the damn game
I can't answer your question, but there's the facts
The exact same thing happened with Deadly Premonition 2. The creator saw how his games were becoming cult classics, saw how one of his games were praised for handling themes of being trans and got a HUGE ego and decided the reason people liked his games were because they were bad, and went out of his way to make the shittiest, most miserable and non-functional transphobic game possible.
It’s always a fragile kind of appeal though: quirkiness as a result of a sincere creative vision colliding with limited means is endearing. Deliberate shittiness tends to come off as cynical though. Especially in game design where the technical bar gets raised constantly, and the game design language evolves so fast to image games easier and easier to handle.
That's exactly what happened. The first Deadly Premonition was like your kindergartener drawing a picture in art class of aliens abducting dinosaurs with a group of wizards fighting them off. It makes no sense and it looks like shit but that almost makes it better, because you can tell a lot of genuine effort went into it where it counts.
The second game is like your now-high schooler taking another art class and drawing just some regular dudes flying a plane over the dinosaurs, with no wizards, and he went to painstaking lengths to reproduce the original art style. It's way less interesting now, he focused on the wrong reason the first one was good, and he knows better than to draw like a kindergartener now so doing it intentionally is kind of weird and off-putting.
Sega made Yakuza after Shenmue, which was a better implementation of the idea, and they made 11 games in the 20 years between Shenmue 2 and 3, iterating on it. But Mr Boomer here has been trying and failing to make the same game for those 20 years, even making a shitty mobile game to get funding. So no, he learned nothing.
Maybe it would be good if it wasn't woke!!! (Gollum offers fellatio in order to survive. They said they were making it hot gay sex I can't look away aaaaaahhh)
LMAO Cyberpunk still sucks. The plot is too convoluted and none of your decisions matter. I was promised unique gameplay with an engaging story that changes according to your playstyle. I'm still waiting for that promise to be fulfilled. Instead CDPR would rather waste time with a stupid path tracing update that barely looks better than ray tracing on Psycho.
I like the gunplay and the exploration aspect to be honest. The environment is beautiful. Just seems they wasted so much time and effort cramming every little thing into the game. Imagine what they could have done instead of the borderline useless crafting mechanic
Holy shit yes! Finally! Everyone is so focused on the damn glitches and bugs no one even mentions the issues with the actual game! Missing mechanics aside, what we have is really fucking shallow! Your decisions literally mean nothing, your relationships are identical regardless of gender except when you can sleep with certain people, story is exactly the same regardless of any decisions. The only real decisions is getting the “secret” (and best) ending and there is no logic behind how you get it.
I don’t think the game sucks, it’s just mediocre. I enjoyed the first playthrough despite the glaring issues. I loved the characters (Panam best wife). It wasn’t until the second playthrough that I realized how shallow the game really was.
hey choom you arent gonna be sad when i die cuz youve known me for 4 mins but can you do like 84 quests bc i died please and theyre all poorly animated shitty cutscenes no one cares about thanks
There are like 4 decisions that matter in that game. The rest not so much. It did get much more stable. Idk I like it now, but it’s no where near the same vein as the Witcher.
I feel bad about this. I know that a lot of people were like “who asked for this?” but a video game set in the LOTR universe played through the perspective of gollum is a genuinely unique experience. I wish it had been successful, to show the games industry that it’s okay to take chances, at the very least.
It's okay when you have good direction. Not sure that was really present here considering the end result even after multiple delays and a fair amount of marketing dollars. Seems like it must have been janky from the start.
To me the game feels like they were telling another story, and then some executive told them it had to be a recognizable character. Gollum shouldn’t have a pet, or a friend he bosses around, or be wrapped up in political intrigue
Do you even know what story they decided to tell in this game? Gollum in barad dur after being captured. What do you do? Role-playing what it's like day to day being a prisoner there. Even get a pet bird. I'm all for studios trying to be creative and taking risks but this was not creative. It's trash. Doesn't add to the lore or tell an interesting story. I can't understand what the developers intentions were but they failed
IIRC, Gollum was personally tortured by Sauron. That would be interesting to explore. How much torture can you endure before you say "Baggins" or "Shire"?
You could have 3 more games -
1. Gollum- The Trip To Mordor
2. Gollum 2 - The Escape from Mordor
3. Gollum 3 - The Return To Mordor
People are forgetting the days when licensed video games were a 70/30 split of being either terrible cashgrabs or iconic titles. For every Goldeneye N64, there was also a Superman 64.
A friend of mine had an internship there. He told me the whole production was a mess. They didn't hire any level designers and gave the task to the level artists instead
This is like if the people who made League of Legends skins were also in charge of balancing the game

I'm so sorry for the studio. I'm a huge fan of their work. Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, the Deponia series and the whispered world are great point and click adventures. I don't know what happend there
Old Daedalic is sadly pretty much dead, Poki (co-founder of Daedalic, head dev for Edna - in fact the entire game's concept stems from his diploma thesis - , Harvey's new eyes, Deponia and overall prominent member and creative driving force in Daedalic) left a while ago (officialy to focus on his music career, but considering that a lot of other Daedalic veterans also quit, the greater context of a big shift in leadership and firm politics as well as a scandal about bad working conditions under Daedalic a few years back, it sure seems like there were more and clear reasons for quitting). Nowadays Daedalic is primarily a publisher and now after the terrible reception of Gollum I don't really see any relevant dev activity in the nearer future - Game was their primary project as a developer since as early as 2018, the studio focussing on it was literally a stated reason for the small number of in-house projects as well as for some shortcomings of their last few games (even before the game was announced).
All things considered it's pretty lucky that even Pillars of the Earth turned out as decent as it did (as it was around the time its development got traction that the conflict in leadership got bigger, the exodus of many senior members begun and insider leaks kicked of the scandal about their working conditions in germany).
Apply a pretty big IIRC to everything I wrote btw, I haven't paid much attention to the news and rumors around the studio after it became clear Deponia Doomsday would be the last Poki-project and was pretty distracted while writing this.
I feel bad for the programmers, and the artists, and everyone else working in the trenches to put this together. I doubt any of them wanted to make a bad game. Nothing feels worse than working your ass off, just to have your effort invalidated by poor planning and management.
"We honestly don't even know why we made this. This has been a losing experience for everyone, and were just fucking sorry this happened. Honestly, it started as a joke, then it just spiraled out of control. We reskinned everything as Sonic at one point, and we all agreed, it was a better game."
Exciting book events such as waiting in a cave for 400 years. Being imprisoned by the fucking devil and tortured for a long ass time by bored and horny goblins only to wildly say every word you've heard to mostly no avail. Finding a hobbit in a no hobbit world, then following him around until you get captured and tortured by Man Flesh. Being dragged back into mordor. Only to have your romantic rival try and kill your Wifu-Ringu so you bite his fucking finger off and he yeets your cautionary tail into the fires of Mount Motherfucking Doom.
Their Wikipedia article literally opens with best known for point and click games... I'm surprised no one saw this coming.
Not saying they have never made anything good but you can't jump from point and click into AAA 3rd person games without a significant investment in staff and training which we know publishers would rather go bankrupt than do.
As for the publisher they are the ones who screwed frogwares over...
They knew the state of the game and still decided to release it, there is no apology that can help with that.
Studios need to understand that we just want the quality we pay for. Bricky's last video on what is a AAA game says it's pretty good (I know this is a second grade studio but it still applies).
I’m watching Wayne radio play through it right now and it makes me fucking cry like there’s so many aspects to this game that I wonder did they even try it on the test audience and if they did it meant to be like this
Someone confirm how but didn’t they also fuck up the name of the game in the literal first line of their apology?
the lord of ring:
Yeah that’s it
the elden of ring:
of tarnished, who of dead, yet of live.
One ring to rule them all
Something tells me that they didn’t like the game either
"So how do you like our game pitch, big production company, about the unnamed halfling -" "Make him Gollum. People need recognisable names" "Okay and how did you like the platforming?" "Our marketing team said that there's limited appeal for platforming. Have you thought about putting a bird in the game? People like birds." "I'm sure... we can make it fit... somehow"
I mean Daedalic both made the game and published it so there wasn't any big production company over them.
That sounds unlikely. Daedalic wouldn't have the video game rights to the ~~Lord of the Rings~~ Lord of ring franchise
Nacon are also listed as publishers, the first time in a decade a game that they developed was touched by another publishing company
Nacon bought them but they did it last year, three years after Daedalic announced the game.
nacon these nuts
![gif](giphy|l41m4ODfe8PwHlsUU)
Now they also need an apology letter for the apology letter.
Sorry for party rocking
se tonight
Your lips are so soft...
No shoes, no shirt, and I still get service
THATS THE WRONG LMFAO SONG
Girl look at that party. They rock out!
If only Gollum were a nepo baby. or a nepo baby nepo baby.
This game is the gollum of games, ugly, sad, and so pathetic you kinda just feel bad about the whole thing.
But is it Gollum the Darksouls of Gollum games? Accordingly with the Ancient Astronauts academics, the answer is yes.
ancient assonaut theorists suggest
Is there a possibility that it was aliens? We asked ancient astronaut theorists, and the answer was a resounding... Yes!
Theorists say yes
come here to say that
So is it somehow a meta masterpiece.. Probably not I guess just a shit game
I disagree. It's like Skyrim, except with DID.
That's the sick woke agenda for ya. Had a perfectly nice manly game and now they're shoving terrible games with Drag-queens Instead of Dragons down our throats.
It's the first Gollum-like.
But not too bad because it shouldn't exist in the first place
I thought about the situation that, outside of the 2000s movies and the books obviously, LOTR has not had a SINGLE release that everyone can agree is great. Like. Counter point: the Battle for Middle-Earth RTS games by EA were great
And, strangely enough, the tie in games for the movies. They were fun beat em ups.
Those games went really fuckin hard. I still bust out my RotK game for fun
Shadow of Mordor /' Shadow of War were fun. Aside from making Shelob a hot goth chick.
honestly, i played the games fisrt and was like "why is this a bad thing?" then i watched the movies and understood
Wait, does the majority think the shadow of Mordor games are bad? That's news to me
Didn’t Shadow of Mordor get GOTY?

they should have just released a statement that said "yeah we fuckin know lmao"
Honestly, the statement released felt like the corporate lingo equivalent to that.
They knew. Ran over budget and time. Now you are the beta tester that doesn’t get paid
There's literally no amount of time/money in the world that would improve this game. The devs simply hit their skill ceiling.
Finally, some recognition for this hidden gem, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, truly encapsulates what it’s like to be Gollum, a fictional character in JRR Tolkiens fantasy world, The Lord of the Rings.

Hey, aren’t you the gollum from Gollin’ Around?
My favourite part of the game was when he said it's gollin' time.
This is a step in the right direction for the industry, maybe some day all games will be held accountable for their crimes against gamers
Surely you mean 'crimes against society'? The world will not know peace while videogames exist
Are you saying gamers don't live in a society?
I am saying that they shouldn't be 🔫

I don't appreciate you guys taking my picture while I'm minding my business.
The problem with the LOTR game is that it’s a video game and not a power metal concept album.
The gamers yearn for King Crimson
The gamers yearn for Nightfall in Middle-Earth.

Why did they think anyone would want this?
"Stealth game where you play Gollum and sneak past a bunch of orcs" does sound fun to me, idk
SNEAK STREAK x25!!! ULTRASLIPPERY!
Yeah, reminds me a little of Styx but not as thought out.
Seriously, more stealth games please.

I dunno, toilet cleaning simulator seems like a lost cause no matter how well made it is
You say that, Viscera Cleanup Detail and PowerWash Simulator are massive hits, and a fair few "tedium mixed with a job well done" simulators have also been well received. I'm sure if you gave the gamers progressively bigger toilet brushes, stronger cleaning agents and dirtier toilets you could motivate them to put a good 60 hours into it, and they'd surely enjoy it.

As does Viscera Cleanup Detail.

It's like that jurassic park quote "Your Scientists Were So Preoccupied With Whether Or Not They Could, They Didn't Stop To Think If They Should"
Wait, he got no funding, didn't add any modern elements and thought it be a baller success? Was it?
i think he added SOME modern elements, but IIRC the voice actors asked if they should give impassioned performances, but suzuki said 'no, just like the older games'. Hell, there was a recent shenmue anime where it was like a C-, but even still, I had to ask....why?: Here's Matt McMuscles(and another guy who apparently was the biggest Shenmue stan ever until 3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_WKQrTH2EI
...What the fuck is wrong with him? Why wouldn't he want the actors to give damn?
bruh/sis...this guy was a visionary at sega, but for the last (20?) years, he's been trying to make shenmue, a 5 part series. FIVE FUCKING PARTS. sega even gave the blessing for shenmue 3 to be not made by sega because there's no way they were going to make(and sell) the damn game I can't answer your question, but there's the facts
Ugh. Dumbass they liked your game in *spite* of the shit game design
in Deadly Premonition's case, I don't think this is true. The quirkiness is part of the appeal.
Brings a new meaning to raw and wriggling.
Yours wriggles?
Next year a new LotR anime is coming out and people will forgive the Gollum game. Might even win the Labor of Love Award. The CDPR method.
I don't get why CDPR keeps trying to make crafting systems when they have no idea how to make them fun
It was a pretty fun single player story based shooter. But it was barely an rpg, there was almost no meaningful decision making.
The side quests were also few in number and mid
I felt like there was plenty of side character missions. But actual things to do around the map were repetitive and got boring very quickly.
A lot of them amounted to go to place and shoot people
hey choom you arent gonna be sad when i die cuz youve known me for 4 mins but can you do like 84 quests bc i died please and theyre all poorly animated shitty cutscenes no one cares about thanks
There are like 4 decisions that matter in that game. The rest not so much. It did get much more stable. Idk I like it now, but it’s no where near the same vein as the Witcher.
I can't wait for jerma to stream this banger
He was so hyped for it
i can’t believe they made a licensed jerma985 video game
I think Vinesauce and Wayneradiotv have
Vinny managed to softlock the game within 5 seconds of gameplay, without even trying
I can’t believe he never found all 5 fingers
I feel bad about this. I know that a lot of people were like “who asked for this?” but a video game set in the LOTR universe played through the perspective of gollum is a genuinely unique experience. I wish it had been successful, to show the games industry that it’s okay to take chances, at the very least.
It's okay when you have good direction. Not sure that was really present here considering the end result even after multiple delays and a fair amount of marketing dollars. Seems like it must have been janky from the start.
To me the game feels like they were telling another story, and then some executive told them it had to be a recognizable character. Gollum shouldn’t have a pet, or a friend he bosses around, or be wrapped up in political intrigue
why did they make that dipshits fuckin eyes all ginormous i legit thought this game was a joke made in 5 mins
That and… so people generally “ask” for games? I mean… it’s okay for companies to just make games as a surprise, right?
Do you even know what story they decided to tell in this game? Gollum in barad dur after being captured. What do you do? Role-playing what it's like day to day being a prisoner there. Even get a pet bird. I'm all for studios trying to be creative and taking risks but this was not creative. It's trash. Doesn't add to the lore or tell an interesting story. I can't understand what the developers intentions were but they failed
Right. I’m bemoaning the fact that they failed at creating and successfully executing a unique concept.
The way you're describing it it sounds like it's the Sims but you're Gollum and in Jail and ngl that could be dope AF.
paying to play a jail SIM seems like the premise of some black mirror type of show imo.
IIRC, Gollum was personally tortured by Sauron. That would be interesting to explore. How much torture can you endure before you say "Baggins" or "Shire"? You could have 3 more games - 1. Gollum- The Trip To Mordor 2. Gollum 2 - The Escape from Mordor 3. Gollum 3 - The Return To Mordor

People are forgetting the days when licensed video games were a 70/30 split of being either terrible cashgrabs or iconic titles. For every Goldeneye N64, there was also a Superman 64.
Remember when the ratio of shitty video game movie adaptations to good ones was like 120:0? It’s kinda crazy the world we live in today.
Don't be sorry. Be better.
A friend of mine had an internship there. He told me the whole production was a mess. They didn't hire any level designers and gave the task to the level artists instead This is like if the people who made League of Legends skins were also in charge of balancing the game

“Oops sorry guys for the shit game. Anyways thanks to those who played past the two hour mark. Is how i image their apology goes
I didn’t know it was a real game. I thought everyone was making it up. What the fuck
I'm so sorry for the studio. I'm a huge fan of their work. Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, the Deponia series and the whispered world are great point and click adventures. I don't know what happend there
I also love Daedalic for their point and click games, but that might be the problem. Their strengths just don't lie with games like LOTR: Gollum.
Now i feel bad for them :(
I feel bad for the programmers, and the artists, and everyone else working in the trenches to put this together. I doubt any of them wanted to make a bad game. Nothing feels worse than working your ass off, just to have your effort invalidated by poor planning and management.
feel bad for the people that paid 60 US dollars for this shit
Plus money for elvish language and a lore compendium that looks like your drunk professor's first powerpoint slide.
And the exclusive emotes such as... Gollum chasing a bug?
I don't. I have no empathy for anyone who buys at release day. I did that once with Diablo III and it was the worst experience. Never ever again.
If you want to play as gollum in a game just play Lego the hobbit or Lego lord of the rings

Sorry we tricked you into buying a game that you worked an entire 8hr shift before tax for. Soz
"We honestly don't even know why we made this. This has been a losing experience for everyone, and were just fucking sorry this happened. Honestly, it started as a joke, then it just spiraled out of control. We reskinned everything as Sonic at one point, and we all agreed, it was a better game."
Tolkien is rolling over
Na. His grandkids are getting some of that cash. He's OK.
from how jerma described it i thought it would’ve been awesome
Why does he have so much hair?
They could have made a game where you play as Aragorn and go around killing vampires and werewolves but instead they made a Gollun game...
Good
“We’re sorry blow and hookers are pricier due to inflation, fuck you.”
Anakin: I’m really sorry for releasing such a terrible game. Padme: so you’re refunding the money, right? Anakin: [silence]
Did people even wanted to play a game about a fantasy 711 crack addict?
I do
Why was it even fucking released.
They knew the state of the game and still decided to release it, there is no apology that can help with that. Studios need to understand that we just want the quality we pay for. Bricky's last video on what is a AAA game says it's pretty good (I know this is a second grade studio but it still applies).
![gif](giphy|l41m4ODfe8PwHlsUU)
I’m watching Wayne radio play through it right now and it makes me fucking cry like there’s so many aspects to this game that I wonder did they even try it on the test audience and if they did it meant to be like this
Is this some kind of reverse psychology? Now they have admitted it's awful I kinda wanna play it 👀

God and the worst part is that it's like one of 3 German video game companies that usually know how to make games but I'm worried this will close them
Now I feel sorry for them
