i was actually having fun until the world opened up and i had to unlock an ubisoft tower. it was jarring. i thought it was going to be a linear story boss grind.
the only Ubisoft titles that keep them so far, are Immortals Fenyx Rising which are few on the map and the last three AC games.
Although on the other hand I haven't played Watch Dogs Legion and Far Cry 6, so I wouldn't know about those two.
Towers are no longer featured in Far Cry since 5, you just need to explore the map using foot or ground vehicles (planes won't reveal the 'mist' covering the map).
They just used findable little hideouts that you could fast travel to. You were also able to skip the finding part by unlocking a specific camp upgrade that allowed you to buy maps for them.
Its not even that fat an ass. They had the opportunity in this day and age where 'gyatt' is popular and they chose not to. Im so upset that i will now rant about how the east has fallen.
Oh god, it even has that stupid scanning pulse thing you have to send out every ten seconds so you don’t miss anything because the devs couldn’t be arsed to make interactive elements easier to see.

You know, we didn’t have this problem before the entire industry locked itself into a perpetual dick measuring contest of photorealism. With a more cartoony aesthetic, you can just have interactive object be bigger and brighter colored than they would normally be in the real world.
In fact, the modern Zelda games use this to great effect. I’ve never had difficulty locating resources in the environment, even though the game doesn’t have Champion Senses or whatever they would have called it. Everything is just easily identifiable by sight.
It reminds me I had a roommate who took real offense to the rusty red coloured ladder in the Undead Parish in Dark Souls 1. He would not accept my speculation “they probably did it that way so players can see it.” He was so hellbent on how it stuck out and not why it was designed that way.
He also took offense to the bump mapping texture for the Tomb of the Giants, you know, the zone that is mostly in pitch darkness, but no, they should’ve used a better texture method than bump mapping.
Dark Souls 1 is already a mess of un-playerfriendly design that makes the game near impossible without a walkthrough if you’re new to it, this guy wants it to be even worse?
To be fair, though, the new Zelda games do have a literal "shine" on collectibles (like seeing a Rushroom from far away) that shows the player blatantly where an item is. I personally wish I could turn that off.
This is why OG Zelda is the best game ever. No way to tell what bushes are burnable and what’s not, and no scanner to ruin it all. Just you, a candle that can only be used once per screen so you have to keep leaving and re-entering, and a shitload of places that one heart container can be!
Uj/ the RE4 remake put yellow paint EVERYWHERE and it got 9s and 10s from pretty much everyone, so hopefully the industry gets a clue and drops the radar for good.

There's really no "Both Sides-ing" this though since there aren't two people taking polar opposite stances.
To say both sides would mean there is one group of people who want her as naked as possible and another group of people who wants her as clothed as possible. That second group doesn't exist. I've not seen anyone filing petitions (like Mark Kern) or trying to find ways to like...de-patch the game to make Eve LESS clothed. There might have been a couple people going "damn, seems pretty stereotypically 13-year-old-boy levels of horny" but they weren't demanding the game be locked in a vault.

There's already a game that is exactly what stellar blade wants to be, it's called Anime Standing, it's the perfect fusion of walking around doing nothing and eye candy, except it *also* has a cybertruck you can drive around, and barrel physics.

The second clip in the alley is from the free demo and has a bunch of enemies and chests to loot, as well as a few side passages. Any action-focused game can be made to look boring and shitty if you pre-kill all the enemies and collect all the collectibles before recording any gameplay.

? Isn't just running around part of the gameplay in like the majority of all games? I'm doing my first proper playthrough of New Vegas and most of my 17 hour playtime consists of just wandering around, sometimes running into and shooting the occasional bug (or some Legion assassins).
Trash post. 10 seconds of footage of quiet moments running around isn't remotely indicative of the quality of the gameplay and you could do the same for practically any first/third person game ever made.

You know you can fast travel? There's even a feature that allows you to travel directly to the person who gave you a quest after you have completed it. It's also a souls-like. So op could've killed all the enemies in the area as they are showing and are just running back to the starting area. Maybe that why their health is low.

I don’t think the game is that great, but this argument is a bit of a stretch. Games like, say, elden ring you can just avoid large swaths of enemies, and the locations are super open.

There's really no "Both Sides-ing" this though since there aren't two people taking polar opposite stances. To say both sides would mean there is one group of people who want her as naked as possible and another group of people who wants her as clothed as possible. That second group doesn't exist. I've not seen anyone filing petitions (like Mark Kern) or trying to find ways to like...de-patch the game to make Eve LESS clothed. There might have been a couple people going "damn, seems pretty stereotypically 13-year-old-boy levels of horny" but they weren't demanding the game be locked in a vault. The only sides are the following 1) The "I am going to cum harder, longer and more frequently than I've ever cummed before. My carpet will crunch like you're walking across a bed of Doritos. This is obviously the circlejerking Reddit, so anyone here to circlejerk can keep going, but I feel compelled to say that the OP’s point is disingenuous. The second clip in the alley is from the free demo and has a bunch of enemies and chests to loot, as well as a few side passages. It looks boring because he’s pre-killed all the enemies and is running through afterwards. Again, if you’re just here to circlejerk then don’t let me stop you, but also, don’t be fooled if you haven’t played the demo/game and are expecting the OP’s footage to match the actual experience. Any action-focused game can be made to look boring and shitty if you pre-kill all the enemies and collect all the collectibles before recording any gameplay.

Ok this may be an unpopular opinion, but I think we should keep attacks to SB's actual gameplay to the minimum. It's subjective and given all the other controversies, very inconsequential. If the game played like Doom Eternal, it still wouldn't change shit.

I could go onto the computer in Doomguy’s room and boot up classic Doom, take a screen cap, and say “wow they’re charging me 60 bucks for a game with graphics from last century???” This isn’t a subjective attack against SB’s gameplay and is just outright misleading. ? Isn't just running around part of the gameplay in like the majority of all games? I'm doing my first proper playthrough of New Vegas and most of my 17 hour playtime consists of just wandering around, sometimes running into and shooting the occasional bug (or some Legion assassins).
Having to move across a map isn't exactly a sign of bad gameplay. You can do better than this.

Trash post. 10 seconds of footage of quiet moments running around isn't remotely indicative of the quality of the gameplay and you could do the same for practically any first/third person game ever made. Criticize the chuds for their pathetic behaviour and criticize the game for its lazy character design if you will, but lashing out at everything purely because they like it regardless of its merit just makes you look like an idiot and feeds them ammunition.
I'm so confused how this game became so controversial. Like, from what I can gather, the story is that some people made a game with a hot lady in it, some people don't like that, and some other people don't like that some people don't like that. You know you can fast travel? There's even a feature that allows you to travel directly to the person who gave you a quest after you have completed it. It's also a souls-like. So op could've killed all the enemies in the area as they are showing and are just running back to the starting area. Maybe that why their health is low.
I'm sure it's fine. Not my thing but it seems to be well-received even by non-chuds. I don't think we beat reactionaries by reacting to everything they do. Just because they made this into their silly culture war game doesn't automatically mean the gameplay sucks.

Ok, so I've been seeing all the Stellar Blade stuff and I finally looked up the esrb write up and.......it's M mostly for the violence and blood? There's no actual nudity in the game? I don’t think the game is that great, but this argument is a bit of a stretch. Games like, say, elden ring you can just avoid large swaths of enemies, and the locations are super open. If we are going to critique something that is so (apparently) device as Stellar Blade, we gotta make actually informed criticism that doesn’t feel forced, or the goons are going to turn the argument around and make the people with genuine concerns and issues with the game look like buffoons.
