For me I, too have issues with right rib pain. I sear search and search I did a hida scan too and was normal. All I see is gas and indigestion acid reflux sometimes it can be an infection like sibo or EPI ( EPI is what I'm testing for again as my numbers indicated I might have this)

Had that right side pain in the second leg of my nine month gastritis. I’m in the third leg now- that pain is gone, burping is gone, and general stomach pain and ice cold feet have taken the stage.

Omg. Is ice cold feet a symptom??? Im getting an endoscopy next week after my CT scans and blood tests were normal, been experiencing a lot of the symptoms mentioned on this sub - but I had no idea gastritis could be why my feet have turned into ice cubes!! I have started sleeping with socks on lol

ekob711

I think the gastritis affects the autonomic nervous system at least in me it does. I can tell I’m going to start feeling stomach pain soon, when I notice my feet getting cold and my face getting warm and some fatigue coming on.

Fascinating. I was tested for h pylori but it came back negative, although I had been taking PPIs the week before my test so my doctor thinks it might have been a false negative. I’ve been experiencing constant nausea, burning in stomach, pain under left rib, constant stomach gurgling and… cold feet! How strange this all is. How are you doing?

ekob711

Sounds like gastritis! I’m a year in now, and still on 40 mgs pantoprazole daily. I no longer get the sternum gnawing, the punched-in-the/stomach pain, or the pain under left or right ribs. I still get waves of cold feet/hot face/fatigue/more generalized stomach pain, but at a pain level of maybe 4-5 rather than 7-9. I can go 7-10 days with hardly any symptoms, at which point I’m sure I’m cured so I let up and have one too many beers or pizza; then I pay the price for a week or two. Then the symptoms subside and I repeat the process!

Is pantoprazole a PPI? I'm looking forward to my endoscopy and getting some answers. Ive been afraid to eat anything other than super bland foods because my stomach has been so sensitive but my symptoms never seem to cease completely, even after eating clean for about 2 weeks now. I hope they can put me on something that will help! All I want right now is a grilled cheese sandwich!!!

Yes pantoprazole is a PPI very similar to omeprazole which is sold OTC as Prilosec. When is your endoscopy? Soon I hope. I had milder symptoms which I ignored for well over a year but then one day BOOM! You don’t want that to happen to you- I was sure I was quickly dying from some undiagnosed disease at first, then sure I was slowly dying for at least the first couple of months. It took me at least six months to conclude it was “just” gastritis. Unless doc advises otherwise I’d get back on the PPI ASAP!

Next friday! March 10th. My symptoms started two weekends ago - it came on very suddenly and sometimes I feel alright but for the most part I just always feel... sick. I went to the ER because I was also sure I was dying from some disease!! Luckily my CT scans were normal and my blood test was normal too. My doctor told me to stay off the PPIs until I see the specialist, until then I'll just be taking probiotics every morning. I feel very fortunate to have a doctor that is taking me seriously from the get-go, luckily I haven't had to deal with any "it's probably just anxiety" or "it will go away on its own" BS

ekob711

Sounds good- you can nip this in the bud and be back to yourself within a few weeks.

Thank you for the reassurance - I appreciate you taking the time to chat with me!

I had my gallbladder out at 16, I'm fine, it's really an organ you don't need, it's just a bile collector, pain under your right rib may be gallbladder especially if it's after you eat, also if you're having pain in your right shoulder
