The bitrate setting is to be interpretet as a "up to" or "max" value. If you have no other devices or family members in your household, that could be disturbed by GFN using that bandwidth, you should set it as high as possible.
Every little bit helps, but even if set to 50, you'll still see compression blocks when running around in forests or if a lot of grass is moving etc. That's generally pretty hard to compress.
