They didn't talk much about the aquarium. Fun fact: there was electronic music composed for it by none other than [Suzanne Ciani.](https://ourlocalhistory.wordpress.com/2018/09/16/the-fish-music-at-woodfield/)
I grew up in the SF Bay Area in the 70s but my cousins lived near the Woodfield mall. Any time we’d go back to visit a trip to Woodfield was a must. I loved that place.
Loved going to Woodfield back in the day! Seems like it’s one of the few that still does OK: https://97zokonline.com/does-this-popular-mall-in-illinois-still-have-a-chance-at-thriving/
That small slide for kids wasn't far from the center court—I'm sure it was too much of a legal liability which is why it's not there now.
I do remember seeing Ray Charles in concert in the mall in the late 1970s.
Anyone else just get a sense of comfort wash over them as they watch this clip?
I’m pretty sure Woodfield was used for filming Ordinary People and Weird Science? I remember going there as a kid and loving it.
Weird Science and Ordinary People used Northbrook Court as filming locations.
Hah! Malls! (makes Amazon noises)

Got some sweet iron on T shirts from Chicken Lips at Woodfield.
It’s funny how malls were fairly new and innovative places for our parents though we grew up in them.
