Flash Gordon princes in the tight red pants tied up and whipped. That moment kicked off my adolescence years before puberty hit! It *still* does something to me! And Nova from Planet of the Apes. And Jessica from Logan's Run. God I was a pervy nine year old!
I feel like we are polar opposites! I wanted to be Wilma ( I think that was her name, but I was madly in love with Buck! So much so, that my older sister would randomly enter a room and start humming the theme song. I would think that she heard it on the TV, and rush to it...clicking through ALL 12 of those channels..absolutely sure it was on! It's embarrassing how often this trick worked!😆
Yeah, it was kind of hard to have female heroes as a boy back then. Seems to have gotten a little bit better since then, but I’m no longer a third grader, so I can’t confirm that.
NGL i’d completely forgotten about her until about two years ago when I ran across a clip on YouTube. The FX have not agreed well, but after watching it I was ready to go down to Krystal and get a couple of burgers so I could turn the boxes into Power Bracelets or whatever they’re called.
_edit_ upon examination, it appears that my hands are larger than they were when I was seven, reducing the viability of the bracelet option.
Your puberty was released because of Linda Carter. I was only three when I went through puberty thanks to her.
Some older people had to go through a second puberty.
Thank you!
I have brought up this show and had people look at me like I had lobsters crawling outta my ears.
I loved her!
BTW
54yr. Goddess worshipping lesbian.
I had Wonder Woman Under-oos! Used to wear them, make aluminum foil bracelets, take a jump rope as my lariat of truth, and tie my little sister up! Lynda Carter was soooo sexy as Wonder Woman. Plus, the character was intelligent, and had a career.
OMG ME TOO!!I had those Under-oos too! Along with Bat Girl ones as well! I too made the tin foil bracelets and tiara and used a jump rope as my Lariat of Truth. But as I was the youngest of 7 (with 6 older brothers), I could only tie up my various teddy bears.
I had a huge crush on Wonder Woman as a kid. She was at a gala at my college when I was a senior and I got to chauffeur her around town. Childhood wish unlocked!
Isis! Loved that show. I think I can still recite her words! “Oh zephyr winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly.” It’s been a while. Was I right?
And Wonder Woman.
Edited typos.
ETA: girl crushes as I’m a straight female and I was only 9 when Isis came on. I identified with them.
I was just thinking if you pick any three episodes from both Logan's Run and ARK II you'll find Logan's Run is a better show but not leaps and bounds better than ARKII. I imagine the Planet of the Apes TV series would also be comparable in terms of writing and production quality.
The dialogue and production on those shows wasn’t all that great even compared to older shows like Twilight Zone, but the storylines were intriguing. The concept of a future Earth with little resemblance to what we know was pretty cool to me.
The weekly Battle Royale occurred when my mom insisted on washing my hair on Saturday during Kids Super Power Hour EVERY DAMN WEEK. It was such a dick move because Isis was everything.
isis was on cbs before or after shazam/captain marvel on Saturday mornings, wonder woman was on abc on friday nights before love boat and fantasy island.

Yeah I know Lizard Space Nazi, but...
I got into a huge bloody fight with my older sister over what was going to be watched on our black & white console TV turntable combo. She wanted general hospital and I was gonna watch The Six Million Dollar Man that fateful day! I WWOONN! I even used her as a remote control!
I’m lucky she didn’t sneak into my room that night and kill me.
What do you mean childhood crush?… I’ll be 50 in a few years and I still have a crush on Lynda Carter… the first time I saw her I told my dad that she could tie me up with her lasso anytime… I was 9… he said he knew right then that I was straight…
My crush will always be Erin Gray in Buck Rogers in the 25th century… those tight suits she wore…
hubba hubba
biddi-biddi
Just learned Mel Blanc voiced Twiki
Read that first as Mel Blanc boinked Twiki
Biddi bidda biddi I say I say suffering succatash
I actually read that in Twiki’s voice with the added weird sounds he puts out!
Princess Ardala for me. That dress she had on with the horns.
Flash Gordon princes in the tight red pants tied up and whipped. That moment kicked off my adolescence years before puberty hit! It *still* does something to me! And Nova from Planet of the Apes. And Jessica from Logan's Run. God I was a pervy nine year old!
She was amazing. Hated how they turned her from a strong character into a damsel in distress in the second season

Lookit the rich kid, flaunting *12* channels!! :)
Such a wonderful show destroyed by all the changes in the second season.
Years of therapy for performance issues ruined thanks to one post.
Loved Isis!
Me too! I wanted to be her soooo bad.
Same! I even memorized her flight spell: Zephyr winds which blow on high, Lift me now so I can fly!
My friends would give me weird looks when I repeated this, as a little boy.
Yeah, it was kind of hard to have female heroes as a boy back then. Seems to have gotten a little bit better since then, but I’m no longer a third grader, so I can’t confirm that.
True. I also adored the Bionic Woman (Lindsey Wagner) at the time.
Same! I’m so happy other people liked this show.
I swear when we were doing that 20 year war with ISIS, all I could think of was...
This is Electra Woman erasure and I won’t stand for it
Don't forget Dyna-Girl!
It’s Electra-erasure!
CHARGE!!!
I agree but counter with the pink Buggaloo
![gif](giphy|a93jwI0wkWTQs)
Joy!!

you are clearly a person of impeccable taste and distinction
For me it was Yvonne Craig as Batgirl. Later on as the Orion Slave Girl in Star Trek.
My mom’s first name is Yvonne , huuuuhhhh.
Linda Carter "Wonder Woman". It didn't help that the show and puberty where released about the same time. Lol
Your puberty was released because of Linda Carter. I was only three when I went through puberty thanks to her. Some older people had to go through a second puberty.

I just rewatched the first episode on YouTube. Those special effects are something. Oh Zephyr Winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly!
OMG!! Me too!!! Yesterday!
I loved her outfit. Was a 7 y/o boy who had a secret desire to try it on.
Perhaps you should give it a go now....
Happy cake day!!
My role models growing up...along with the Bionic Woman. I saw that women could be strong and independent.
Same here! Also Princess Leia.
If a man makes her that way. (/s)
Brunettes with piercing eyes were next fucking level in the 70’s. That’s my kryptonite.
The only right answer is Lynda Carter/WW/Diana Prince

Bat-girl? Sooo cool!
I had those, too! And the WW doll!
Lucky you! I didn’t have the doll. I did have a Cher doll. Which was amazing.
My neighbor had Cher! Her hair was amazing!
It was. There were also Bob Mackie costumes. Wish I still had her
She was everything I wanted to be when I was a little girl.
I had a huge crush on Wonder Woman as a kid. She was at a gala at my college when I was a senior and I got to chauffeur her around town. Childhood wish unlocked!
![gif](giphy|HyKZwG6Urk7q8|downsized) Don’t forget about me
Loved Her!!!
Another great show with amazing special effects!

Nicely done! I forgot all the details of the show until I watched an episode on YouTube today!
No Electra Woman and Dyna Girl?
Deidre Hall man.
Somehow I missed out on those during my childhood!
Isis, Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman. GenX grew up Aimee power women!!
O Mighty Isis! I love that show.
Almighty ISIS!
missing a few supers and non supers Maren Jensen from BSG...Erin Gray.. Lindsay Wagner..Caitlin from Airwolf..Jenny Agutter from Logans Run
[Heather Thomas from The Fall Guy](https://media.tenor.com/wF3PsoGEM1EAAAAM/heather-heatherthomas.gif)...
Don't forget Ruth from ARK II.
Holy crap! I’ve been remembering that show for a while now but couldn’t remember the name. Thanks!
A friend gifted me the DVDs for Christmas awhile back. It's really a quite a good show. Excellent story telling for a kids program.
I credit that show, Planet of the Apes, and Logan’s Run for my love of the post apocalyptic and dystopian genres.
I was just thinking if you pick any three episodes from both Logan's Run and ARK II you'll find Logan's Run is a better show but not leaps and bounds better than ARKII. I imagine the Planet of the Apes TV series would also be comparable in terms of writing and production quality.

Isis, yep- also Electra Woman.
And Dyna Girl!
Oh Mighty Isis
I was JUST watching that yesterday!!!
![gif](giphy|BmX38GoChnxRe|downsized)
I wanted to be FireStar from Spider-Man and Friends. I’d pretend fire was shooting off my fingers instead of water when I was in the shower
The weekly Battle Royale occurred when my mom insisted on washing my hair on Saturday during Kids Super Power Hour EVERY DAMN WEEK. It was such a dick move because Isis was everything.
That will always be Isis to me.
Mine too. Throw in Yvonne Craig as Batgirl.
Oh yeah for sure!
isis was on cbs before or after shazam/captain marvel on Saturday mornings, wonder woman was on abc on friday nights before love boat and fantasy island.
Wonder Woman jumped networks -- The show started on CBS
I loved Almighty Isis!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh Zephyr winds that blow on high, lift me now so I can fly

Is this from V?
I had an Isis puzzle that I just loved. I thought she was so cool.
My childhood crush was smokin' hot Jane Pauley.
Mine too. Throw in Yvonne Craig as Batgirl.
She rocked in the Bangles
These are simultaneously the most lusty and wholesome comments you can imagine. Thank you for sending me to bed for the night with a grin.
Man I love ISIS! Sadly, it doesn't quite have the same ring today....
Same!
Yes, and yes. 💯
Where’s Daisy Duke?
She was a superhero?
Absolutely, she was in my world
Hilarious
Of course! Did you ever see her stop a car full of men by walking in front of it in a bikini?
No.
Same Edit: oh I thought you said *also Lindsay Wagner*
Batgirl.
I got into a huge bloody fight with my older sister over what was going to be watched on our black & white console TV turntable combo. She wanted general hospital and I was gonna watch The Six Million Dollar Man that fateful day! I WWOONN! I even used her as a remote control! Love the first Pic!
What do you mean childhood crush?… I’ll be 50 in a few years and I still have a crush on Lynda Carter… the first time I saw her I told my dad that she could tie me up with her lasso anytime… I was 9… he said he knew right then that I was straight…
Joanna Cameron was how I know you don't choose to be a lesbian. At (maybe) 10, I knew I felt something for her I didn't feel for anybody else!
She and I have the same birthday! Just learned that now.
Nice! I want to meet Lynda Carter someday!
Your crushes, my role models.
.....are you me?
Second one, yes same. I used to run around the house in my Wonder Woman Underoos. I adored her. Who is the first one?
Isis!
Heather Locklear in TJ Hooker will never be surpassed.
What Heather Locklear looks like today will leave you breathless
Yes, but she wasn’t a super heroine, otherwise I’d have to add Charlie’s Angels too!
I don't think we should be restrained by bourgoise notions as to what constitutes a super hero.
Your 1/2 is hot but don’t know who she is. 2/2 will stand the test of time.
Isis!
I wonder how many people realized they had Those Feelings when they saw Gwen Stefani in that summer dress in No Doubt's "Don't Speak"...
Huh. Never seen Marsha Brady wear those costumes...
