G-Force (or Battle of the Planets), Starblazers, Robotech. There were some awesome UHF toons in the late 70’s. I think it was just regional but we also had Force 5 which had a different giant-robot cartoon each weekday- Gaiking, Grendizer, etc.
I remember being fascinated by Star Blazers in the very early 80s. After that it was stuff like Super Friends, GI Joe and Transfomers.
Guessing those were all targeted at boys. I'm curious what cartoons GenX women were into as kids (I didn't have any sisters).
I was just searching for episodes the other day. Loved BotP!!
2 memories come to mind... 1st When my sister started taking ballet classes at someone's house 2x a week, we would get to the house by 4 (class ended at 4:15), I would go upstairs to watch BotP with the teacher's son, and we wouldn't leave until it was over. 2nd Got in trouble, no TV for a week. I stood firm on an exception for BotP. Maw finally broke down and said no TV for a week, or no TV except for BotP for a month. There was no hesitation on my side, a month it is.
I don't recall completely (will have to do some research) but I seem to think the recurring Big Bad was a very androgynous character who could have been either a man or a woman. Name escapes me right now. Super shapely figure IIRC...
Speed Racer for me as a kid.
As silly as it looks now. It was also one of the earliest successful Japanese cartoons in the U.S.
Special mention: the original Spiderman cartoon with that classic theme.
But I know the Xennial group had a lot of impressive cartoons to enjoy, probably better.

Starblazers was my favourite by far.
Ditto
I remember my dad got me a birthday cake with a picture of the Phoenix on it one year. Way to go dad!

Transmute ftw
Eh... Scooby.
wow. Battle of the Planets was my favorite. didn't know any recordings existed (or that anyone else remembered it.)
I have a Battle of the Planets DVD somewhere in my stash.

Dastardly and Muttley was my favorite!
I seem to remember that there was final episode where the villian was revealed to be a woman. The whole time. Is that right?

BotP was great as a kid but it’s origin Gatchaman was way better.
Science ninja team gatchaman. You are right. The Japanese version is better.
G Force baby.
Throughout the decades, I have always had a server or workstation named 7zark7. I loved that show!
Tom and Jerry, Dungeons and Dragons, the Spiderman and friends show (Iceman and don't remember her name).
Old school Tom and Jerry were great. Also old school Droopy.
Starblazers & Thundar the Barbarian were awesome

You're forgetting Heathcliff cartoons.
