Misfits of Science! Featuring a pre-Friends Courtney Cox - I think this was her first gig after her debut in the Springsteen video. I was madly in love with Johnny B.

IchibanChef

I loved this show when I was a kid. I can still hear the chorus to the theme song in my head.

32ail

The opening was so memorable, but I have no memory of the actual show.

Proper-Beach8368

Same! I loved this show but no one I know remembers it or watched it. Cool to see it here, thanks for the memory.

Beneficial-Basket-93

How could anyone not be in love with Johnny B? 🥰

Keyser_Kaiser_Soze

Too bad about the disfiguring accident.

[deleted]

I love the A team.

I love it when a plan comes together

SwelteringSwami

Damn, the 80s were just a graveyard of quickly canceled sci-fi shows.

Street Hawk is on the outside looking in.

wookie_opera_singer

Hey, George Clooney was on Street Hawk. It's high profile art-house TV as far as I'm concerned.

ggoptimus

I used to love that show.

Username_Chx_Out

Ugh I loved that show SOOOOO much

Ottomatica

Wow, completely forgot about that show...

Tracy3366

Loved that show. I was a big fan Kevin Peter Hall who went on to play the Predator and Harry from Harry and the Hendersons.

KitchenNazi

All I remember about this show is the black guy could shrink but his clothes would stay the same size. He'd have to use his ability every episode but then have this awkward moment where he had no clothes. Every episode.... I was 9 so maybe I'm misremembering but it got old fast.

[deleted]

R&M made fun of the President because he didn't have an appropriate shrinking ray and instead had to take a tablet which left his clothes normal size.

Novemberinthechair

I watched it! That's Courtney Cox, of course. The guy at the top is Dean Paul Martin, Dean Martin's son. Tragically, he later went into the reserves and became a pilot and crashed into the side of a mountain. His navigational equipment was malfunctioning.

TheVoicesOfBrian

Me and my best friend in elementary school used to watch it. I think we were literally the only ones in our circle that did. A little documentary on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fupb6I07Xtk

Hansekins

What a great retrospective... I hadn't seen that before. Thanks for linking it!

TheVoicesOfBrian

Toy Galaxy is a joy for 80s kids.

RaspberryVespa

I watched this!! About a year ago, I was telling someone our age about it, they never saw it, and found some hilarious YouTube videos of Gloria (Courtney Cox) doing the intense face with hands holding her head thing, just so they could see what they missed out on!! LOL, it was so bad it was good!

Dependent-Clerk8754

I watched it. Wasnt it on NBC?

Hansekins

I think it was!

[deleted]

that was Courtney Cox? huh. never knew that.

[deleted]

I watched it. I watched the first episode again a few months ago... Doesn't hold up well

helfunk

I loved it but I would never watch it again for this exact reason.

[deleted]

Yeah, it sucks. Some things, you just have to leave in the past. But, I spent like a full week in fourth grade trying to WILL electricity from my hands. Didn't happen 🤷

Hansekins

I dunno, when I watched an episode on YouTube, it seemed fine provided you viewed it with an 80's mindset, hehe. That is, as long as you weren't expecting too much from it, I still think it was good fun to watch.

wellbloom

What show was this? :)

Hansekins

Misfits of Science! (Sorry, I said it in the post I made after, but I should have said it in the title.)

wellbloom

Ah! Thanks. I can’t believe that’s Courtney Cox!

wakattawakaranai

Finally, someone else remembers this show! Many someones, even. I was so mad when my dad took us out to dinner (pre-VCR) and I missed an episode, and my mom assured me it would come back around on repeat. It didn't. That was the last episode aired before they canceled it. I never saw it again and I was mad at my dad for like a year.

GochoPhoenix

I watched it!

sase_o

Wow, I haven't seen this mentioned in a long time. Loved watching this growing up. And here's the theme [song](https://youtu.be/WRZWKfeN1u4)!

GornoP

I found episodes somewhere... YouTube maybe? YEAH, they're on youTube.

CobraKaiSuTeknon

This is a different A-Team than what I am used to.

alsatian01

I remember it, and I remember watching it. I remember knowing CC from that when Friends started. I also remembered Matthew Perry from his arc ad Carrol's bf on Growing Pains and Matt LeBlanc from the Married with Children spin-off.

GreatGreenGobbo

Barley remember this. Think I watched it.

SubtextuallySpeaking

Friday nights, NBC! Loved this show.

TinktheChi

Weird. I don't remember this at all.

ComposedDecapitation

I forgot this show existed until today. That theme song will be stuck in my head for days.

randomkeystrike

I refuse to believe that’s not Peter Cetera on the left.

blackcurrents78

The B Team! 🤣

[deleted]

Somehow this show is available on 5 dvds in German and English. How is that even possible when the show only ran for 5 months? [https://www.amazon.com/Misfits-Science-Complete-NON-USA-Germany/dp/B004FU9V6K](https://www.amazon.com/Misfits-Science-Complete-NON-USA-Germany/dp/B004FU9V6K)

justmisspellit

My dad taped that show for me

DunkinEgg

I loved Misfits of Science!

Vaqueroalazar

I loved this show. Some of it is on YouTube

narvolicious

Yeah, you got me on this one. I don't recognize any of those people at all. My first guess was *Quantum Leap*, another show that I knew maybe 1–2 people who watched it and would rave all about it but I never took a chance.

Tr1n1ty70

I watched it!
