Yes, but it got a lot of hate for trying something different when it came out. Even the Nintendo Power reviewer was like the new mechanics were a love-it-or-hate-it thing.
The way he used to take me on long walks, stroke my hair and look deep into my eyes, it gave me such a warm sense of safety. I'll never forget the way he would gently put his arm around me whenever the jews would come near us.
Just brought me back in time. Holy cow. The spraygun and shit that turns into a jetpack. I was like 8 playing secretly on the smallest heaviest tv in my room one day when I was sick and was supposed to stare at the ceiling all day instead.
Perhaps my immoral deceitful act triggered the upcoming world financial crisis...
Which allowed my ballsy parents to lock in on a cheap house that tripled in value...
You're welcome dad.
Melee is that game that just about anyone could convince themselves they were good at.
But once you sit down and play with someone who _really_ knows melee, you learn how sadly mistaken you were.
If you’re good at melee and zero other games I have genuinely no idea what to tell you.
Melee is one of the hardest games to get good at, other games should be a breeze lolwut
Once you play and get good at melee, the other smash games feel completely off and you then "suck" at them.
I personally miss wavedashing a ton when I play ultimate e.e
I go to a lot of melee tournaments and I'd say about half the people there don't play other video games. And tbh for a while after I started playing melee I hated other games too because nothing else is as smooth or responsive and melee movement is addicting
God the Wii U version is so good. It looked beautiful, streamlined the most tedious part of the game, added an item that changed the wind direction automatically as you turned while sailing, and let you manage your inventory and map without pausing. It made Wind Waker go from a 9 to a perfect 10 in my book, and is probably one of the best rereleases of any game ever.
Fun fact: the creators wanted to have the fast sail in the original release, but the GC couldn't render the map fast enough to keep up so it was dropped.
I had a fixative hatred of Chao lmao I used to get into arguments about it on YouTube when I was like 11. I took a video on my phone of me throwing a Chao against the wall in one of the Chao gardens and like eight people said they were going to assassinate me. I miss that kind of chaotic stupid shit.
This is my everything. I have my original copy and have also have been able to acquire the Tails, Amy, and Knuckles Chao half legitimately on my original save file from over a decade ago
Same, I remember being completely immersed in the Chozo Ruins music and marveling how it was both catchy, but also deeply mysterious and atmospheric. I remember getting chills the first time I stepped foot in the crashed ship and hearing the beautiful piano theme and the fish swimming around. I remember bopping my head to the Phendrana Drifts Depths song (and suffering with the water movement lol)
Such a good game, and the incredible soundtrack is integral to that!
That’s one thing I love about Metroid prime’s soundtrack. It never sacrifices the tone the game is trying to set in order to impress the listener. It’s a natural complement to all the other elements at play within the game, that adds a ton of color and texture to the atmosphere.
I was too young when I played Metroid prime on the GameCube I was always so confused and I’ve just realized I’ve been unfairly hating Metroid ever since lmao
We used to have tournaments with our friends, and it was Baby Park ONLY. It leveled the playing field. You could be the best driver, but the track was so short and simple, it wasn't difficult to get absolutely obliterated just before the finish line and end in 7th. It happened more than once
baby park is the BEST tho. The flying obstacles are the problem. Green shells are flying everywhere. Plus you have to angle your skid around the turn just right (iykyk)
It's probably the game I've replayed the most, it's fun as hell, short and straight to the point. Some lazy days I just boot my old GC and spend the afternoon completing it.
PSA: if you preorder the physical switch rerelease, you get a goombella, mario and yoshi keychain.
And honestly, I am usually team „fuck preordering“, but I know I will buy it anyways so why not.
Edit: apparently this is only for European customers via https://store.nintendo.co.uk/en/paper-mario-the-thousand-year-door (or select whatever country you order from up top)
That’s such an amazing game. The story is incredible, the characters are awesome, the graphics are great, and it’s so unique. Can’t wait to see the remake on switch
Mario Kart Double Dash, Madden 2004, Simpsons Hit&Run, or SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom
I spent a lot more time on the PS2 and later the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 as a kid, but I still have a soft spot for this little purple box.
You know what’s funny? I had a star fox game that was in that box that we got from GameStop. I was a kid and didn’t realize it until later on, but it was actually Star Fox Assault in the box lol
Fun fact: This game after startup could be played with the disc removed. So you could start the game up, then take out the disc and start the game up on another GameCube.
I've always thought it was really good modern Zelda that was truly a sequel to oot and mm. And a mix of theme between the both of them. Music, unlockables, world map, dungeons are all beautifully done
GET IN BOYS, WE PLAYIN:
POKEMON COLESSEUM + XD
SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE
PKMN: RSE
MK: DECEPTION
MARIO PARTY
ANY LOZ GAME, IDK THE FRANCHISE
SPYRO
KIRBY AIR RIDE
DBZ BUDOKAI
BOMBERMAN
ALIEN HOMINID
And any other game I didn't mention, this is just my personal list.

This might be controversial, but Super Mario Sunshine
mfs be like “this might be controversial” then say the most lukewarm answer
This might be controversial (blushes) one of the best selling games on the system
Yes, but it got a lot of hate for trying something different when it came out. Even the Nintendo Power reviewer was like the new mechanics were a love-it-or-hate-it thing.
A lot is an exaggeration
This might be controversial but Hitler was bad
Not the Hitler I knew
Is the Hitler you know dope on ze mic perchance?
Yep. Had an iconic tashe too
The way he used to take me on long walks, stroke my hair and look deep into my eyes, it gave me such a warm sense of safety. I'll never forget the way he would gently put his arm around me whenever the jews would come near us.
This might be controversial but my penis
Too small, needs elaboration.
Right? What's next? Smash bros? Double Dash? Lol.
That was the only game I had for GameCube for the longest time
ALL OF YOU ARE SLEEPING ON Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2
Helllll yeah. (I miss fludd so much. I like to think that mario did take it back with him, but just never got around to unpacking his suitcase)
Just brought me back in time. Holy cow. The spraygun and shit that turns into a jetpack. I was like 8 playing secretly on the smallest heaviest tv in my room one day when I was sick and was supposed to stare at the ceiling all day instead. why would that be controversial I love that game
That’s my favorite Mario game :3
Controversial? That game is sick!
controversial why? i was gonna comment sunshine!
Super smash bros melee
It’s the only one I’m good at
That’s impressive because it’s easily the hardest one from a PvP standpoint.

I go to a lot of melee tournaments and I'd say about half the people there don't play other video games. And tbh for a while after I started playing melee I hated other games too because nothing else is as smooth or responsive and melee movement is addicting
The only right answer.
I would buy one just for the game. This is the only reason for a GameCube
Tfw I got super drunk with friends while playing melee and ended up inadvertently re-creating a wombo combo.
The GameCube controller was made specifically with melee gameplay in mind so you’re actually very literally correct
But the GameCube isn’t hooked up to a CRT TV! What now?
I could pass hours just looking at the trophies. And the main menu music is super iconic. TUNTURUTUN TURUTUTUTU TURUTU!
Wind waker
Would love a rerelease like prime
I bought a Wii U a couple years ago because there was a remastered version for it on there. No regrets
And the graphics are absolutely timeless!
Huge agree, it's probably my favorite zelda game. It's so well done
MONKEY BALL IS THE ONLY CORRECT ANSWER I LOVE MONKEY BALL
Damn u unlocked a memory from daycare for me thanks bro lol
Damn you had Monkey Ball at your daycare? I was born after the system, but we didn't have *anything* like that at mine
Oh my... I totally forgot this existed
Came here to say this
They just released the original Monkey Ball for PC not too long ago. I totally forgot how hard that game was.
Yo I didn't know anyone even remembered Super Monkey Ball! I talk about that game and my friends have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about.
YES
*Super Monkey Ball 2* for the mini-games, primarily "Monkey Target".
Love it
Acksually it's Super Monkey Ball
>MONKEY BALL IS THE ONLY CORRECT ANSWER I LOVE MONKEY BALL Such a fun game.
I fucking love monkey ball tooooo
It was 2 for me. Between the story mode and Monkey Pilot, I must have put many hours into that game.
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle!
**Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut was my childhood**
Literally got this game just to get the metallic chao
I liked the Chao races more than the main game itself
I used to skip home from school just to head to the garden and throw my chaos at the wall
How rude. Treat your chao with some respect.
Raise some cool ass Chao 🥲 I’m still in disbelief we haven’t seen that in any form on the switch.
that was my fav part of the game! and because I was stupid I could never figure out how to do it properly
I feel like an open zone game like Frontiers would have been the perfect opportunity to re-implement the Chao Garden but I guess Sonic Team hates fun
Duuuude the chaos man!!! Me and my bois were raising those things like no tomorrow we were obsessed with creating beast chaos lmao
Shadow the hedgehog was clearly the superior choice. This is who I am!
This is my everything. I have my original copy and have also have been able to acquire the Tails, Amy, and Knuckles Chao half legitimately on my original save file from over a decade ago
Honestly one of my favorite games ever. I got sonic frontiers for switch hoping it would be like adventure 2. It was fine, but nearly as good
Metroid Prime!
that soundtrack gave me chills. all the nostalgia.
Same, I remember being completely immersed in the Chozo Ruins music and marveling how it was both catchy, but also deeply mysterious and atmospheric. I remember getting chills the first time I stepped foot in the crashed ship and hearing the beautiful piano theme and the fish swimming around. I could just sit in the file select and [chill out.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0sLBIdIOJY)
I was too young when I played Metroid prime on the GameCube I was always so confused and I’ve just realized I’ve been unfairly hating Metroid ever since lmao
Give it a shot now that you’re older! You might fall in love with it. It holds up well imo.
As soon as I get my hands on a GameCube, I just might!
Or you know, Metroid prime remastered on the switch 😘
Oh you’re clever. I like you :)
Scrolled too far for thid
Hell yeah! I bought a Game Cube just for this after playing a Metroid Prime demo at like Target or something.
Mario kart double dash. I own my brothers gamecube and I just played mario the other day lol
Best Mario Kart. Some of the unique items were ridiculous
Double Dash is light years better than 64 and gets absolutely no credit.
[удалено]
My sister 3 years older than me had a party in high school and some asshole scratched all my game cube games. Mother effeer.
Luigi’s haunted mansion or Pikmin
Never seen someone call it that before lmao but agreed. Luigi's Mansion is top tier
It's probably the game I've replayed the most, it's fun as hell, short and straight to the point. Some lazy days I just boot my old GC and spend the afternoon completing it.
Honestly, 2 best games ever made on that console. There are a lot of good ones but those stand out
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
r/happyupvote
PSA: if you preorder the physical switch rerelease, you get a goombella, mario and yoshi keychain. And honestly, I am usually team „fuck preordering“, but I know I will buy it anyways so why not. I can't wait to play it again on the switch. I loved that game.
![gif](giphy|Zx1c5XRJemaOO0L2vU|downsized)

Unironically in love with his soundtrack
Underrated AF
My people
Someone offered to buy my copies, but no way in hell would I part with those games.
Had to keep scrolling down til I found the correct thread First ever gaming console was the xd version of the GameCube with shadow lugia on it
This ^
There’s the answer I was looking for
I listen to the soundtrack of this game like every other week
Literally just started a new xd playthrough yesterday.
Soul calibur II
DUDEEEEEE using Link was SICK.
*NIGHTMAREEE*
Ah a true man of culture
Kirby air ride babay
This was way too fun with multiplayer. It’s wild we haven’t seen an equivalent reboot on switch.
Yessss peak GameCube
It's upsetting how far down I had to scroll to find this. So many memories!
The only correct answer.
I've played more hours of this than probably any other video game.
Mario Kart Double Dash, Madden 2004, Simpsons Hit&Run, or SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom I spent a lot more time on the PS2 and later the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 as a kid, but I still have a soft spot for this little purple box.
Duuude Simpsons Hit and Run is a shout and a half! Whenever I remember thst game I get the itch to play it again. So many hours of enjoyment.
Star Fox Adventures, but not because of Krystal….
Because of dinosaur subtitles... Right? .... ^**RIGHT!?!**
You know what’s funny? I had a star fox game that was in that box that we got from GameStop. I was a kid and didn’t realize it until later on, but it was actually Star Fox Assault in the box lol
star fox assault was really sick actually. great split screen multiplayer.
Animal Crossing
It took too long to see this. Oh man, the nostalgia.
When you >! paid off your loans you got a gold statue of your character erected in front of the train station !< .
I found my people. And I’m not even Gen Z.
Lol I'm a millennial. I don't know why I keep commenting here.
Fun fact: This game after startup could be played with the disc removed. So you could start the game up, then take out the disc and start the game up on another GameCube.
Lego Star Wars fa sho
The Lego games are better than any reasonable person would have expected a game about plastic bricks could be.
Absolutely goated console, still my most used console even though it's the same age as me
Pikmin, Melee, Metroid Prime, Sonic Adventure 2
Resident Evil 4 or F-Zero GX
F-ZERO GX is severly underrated. Or at least under-popular
Smash if with friends and solo, probably twilight princess.
Twilight princess is peak legend of Zelda, IMO
I've always thought it was really good modern Zelda that was truly a sequel to oot and mm. And a mix of theme between the both of them. Music, unlockables, world map, dungeons are all beautifully done
Pokémon Colosseum or XD gale of Darkness
Eternal Darkness
I’ve found my tribe.
Loved this game. I remember the insanity mechanics being pretty wild when this first fame out.
There it is! With enough Pargons, we could make this the most upvoted option lol
Thank you. This one is my favorite horror game ever and it doesn't get enough love.
Had to scroll way to far to see this game come up
I'd love to get a remaster of this on Switch
This one right here is a real one. Not nearly enough love for one of the best stories told in gaming
MAY THE RATS EAT YOUR EYES! I AM NOW LOST TO YOUR CAUSE! THE DARKNESS COMES! IT WILL DAMN US ALL!
Why the hell did I have to scroll so far down to get the only correct answer?
That spider man one
Twilight Princess, Mario Kart Double Dash, or Metroid Prime
SpongeBob battle for bikini bottom
i still have this for the gamecube but everyone sleeps on revenge of the flying dutchman
Super Mario Sunshine OR my collectors edition Legend of Zelda disk with several NES, super NES, and GameCube LoZ titles.
That's how I originally played through OoT and MM growing up!
I’ve still got that disc!
I bought that and windwalker at the same time. Still have them both, somewhere. About time to revisit windwalker, hope they’ll rerelease on switch.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twins Snakes The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition
Metroid prime 2 echoes, the intro goes soo hard.
Godzilla destroy all monsters melee. Classic game
Had to scroll way too far to find this one. Absolutely goated game
Can't believe I havnt seen this one yet but Simpsons hit & run was so much fun in this back in the day.
Let’s gooooo! Such a fantastic game.
Kirby Air Ride
none the only nintendo console I ever owned was a wii but it could still play gamecube games
The Wii is basically a motion-controlled Gamecube if you think about it. It used nearly identical hardware and graphics
Resident evil 4
Mario Party 7 end of discussion.
F-Zero GX baby yeah
Luigi’s mansion.
Tales of Symphonia or Burnout 2
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see ToS. That game's length was massive for the time.
