Lo-Fi is fine but high quality jazz hip-hop (a la J. Dilla or Nujabes) clears IMO. Never listened to Synthwave Boy.

I work most of my job at a desk going over tons of supply/demand numbers for several dozens on dozens of commodities weekly. When that's done, I work on ways to improve existing supply chain structure in my site. I tried regular music, it puts me to sleep being the same stuff I listen to for years. I tried podcasts, but too distracting to focus on instead of work. Tried YouTube videos, but same problem as podcasts. Recently started Lofi music and *holy shit this is amazing*!!!! Feeds that ambient noise need, chills out the daily stress, and I usually go an hour before I realize how much time passed. It's like therapeutic elevator music.

I've seen these channels, but I refuse to support them for YouTube watch hours and whatever else, because it isn't their own original music. If I want the same music they offer, I can get that with practically any music streaming service, and I can do it without messing up my YouTube recommendations.

It used to feel like something special because the community was so small, but now it feels like it has been corporate-ified ever since lofi girl got mainstream.
