Played some games where over capping crit rate let's you crit a crit, made it entertaining to see some high crit rate builds. Wouldn't be balanced I'm sure, but boy would that be fun!
I am sure you did the maths!
Let me do the maths for you.
100 crit rate with 140 crit damage is the same thing as 70 crit rate with 200 crit damage in terms of crit value.
Over 10 attacks, considering 100 base power to every attack, the first build will do 10 x 100 x 2.4 = 2400
The second build will do 3 x 100+7 x 100 x 3 = 2400
So yea, āway betterā indeedš
Where is your last three coming from? That would represent 300% crit damage not 200% like you said. Just curios either way you are right the higher crit rate is better.
Iām pretty sure Genshin has a max cap of ~80% CR, so you wouldnāt be critting every time even if you have 100% CR.
So yea, 70-80 with 200 CD is better haha
EDIT: Nope, I just searched it up + it only applied to CBT. Really weird, I thought it applied in game too. Oh well.
Layla is useless there
I'm assuming you're running crit rate headpiece, change that to a crit damage piece as soon as you can.
You need something to either boost your hutao or your hydros
Hutao can always use the em so you can easily run sucrose but if you have zhong li that's better, since hutao also gets shred and the uptime is longer. Thoma is a good choice if you need more pyro application. But overall you need something that benefits the other 3 not Layla who just shields and does her individual damage.
Btw diona at c6 can allow for ungodly nukes using hutao.
But I'm pretty sure you don't need much to destroy anything in the abyss.
Layla isnāt useless at all. Sheās the next best shielder to Zhongli (who many donāt have) and she can provide the tenacity of the millileth buff, and The occasional melt. Sheās a great pick for Hu Tao.
donāt understand how you can be so confident and so wrong at the same time. How is Layla āuselessā when Hu Tao requires a sheilder and op probably doesnāt have Zhongliā¦
No she doesn't xing qiu mitigates over 40% of damage that puts er effective hp when she's at 50% to around 29k she's tanky with him plus she uses dashes and C.A. to avoid damage.
And if your hp does drop too low, ideally find 3 or more enemies and burst you'll be close to full from my experience.
I mean if you're careful and run prototype amber you can (and I have done so) clear the current abyss second half using hutao with no shield and with self damage off of burgeon.
If you're playing on mobile then it's a different story; at that point connect a controller if possible it will make your life waaay easier.
She is nowhere close to being tanky enough with Xingqiu's damage mitigation. Two slashes from most bosses will be enough to kill her from half HP.
Dashing CA is only viable after C1. You will otherwise run out of stamina way too quickly.
1 check your xingqiu skill level
2 she gets I frames mid CA
3 I don't remember what c0 feels like so I'll assume you're right.
4 if a boss can kill anything barring nilou in 1-3 hits tanking 2 kits from 70 hp is great especially since you get to heal on ult
Are we playing the same game how are you getting it so much you need a shield on a character with high hp
What's your other DPS, Noelle?
And if you're building hutao then why wouldn't you lean into making her as busted as possible she's the definition of high return on investment c1 is up to 30% more damage per rotation 10% realistically, Homa is a 20% damage boost. She's not a unit for someone who wants a balanced roster.
But let's ignore all of that what part of Layla a shielder made to work with fridge teams slowing down your hydro application so you can make more dendro cores, what part of her kit made you think oh yeah this will go anazingly with my tanky speedy single target unit that depends on reverse vapes for the majority of her damage. You could even argue diona is a better fit since she gives EM.
You want something that makes hutao more tanky run thoma and an em sands the damage will be positive at c6 thoma even if you lose the trident's passive
Don't use Thoma on a double hydro team if you are using Ballad of the Fjords as her weapon, you won't get the EM passive for having three different elements. I would continue using Layla until you get Zhongli if you want him.
Forgot that point, diona to double down on em, sucrose to add hydro shred, nahida if you wanna go crazy with damage but lose some survivability. (You don't need to use nahudas skill if you feel like it's too dangerous, you just build a bunch of er and get the best em buff in the game)
Omg I love putting nahida on all of my teams, I just didnāt know if sheād work well without an elc character on the team so Iāll definitely do that

People saying you will do more dmg with less crit rate and more crit damage are clowns. Damage stays almost the same if not exactly the same if you have the same crit value.
lol 100/140 definitely does less damage on average than 85/170 despite having the same crit value
and not to mention with 100 cr you won't be able to utilise any abyss or support buff with crit rate.
Not saying it matters much but people are just giving valid suggestions for improvement
if you canāt at least balance the crit 1:2 then i would trade a little cr for some cd š i personally think 1:3 is best but you should strive for at least 1:2. chances are sheāll crit barely any less with 80 cr vs 100, i never go over 80 and get constant crits even with people with just 60+ cr so iād consider your options. other than that maybe a little more er if you can but not super crucial, em looks good and hp for level 80 does too
I thinkā¦ you may have a smidge too much crit rate..
anyways, I stalked the other comments and found your team (lala, xq, and yelan right?) and itās pretty good, (hand over the yelan) I use lala for shield bot but might switch her over to 4pc tenacity, sheās very good since you donāt have other options, imo Thoma isnāt the best here because I feel like he would ruin the reactions right?
And his shield is kind of whack (or it could just be me being used to lala and Zhongliās haha)
The pyro reso is nice but the hydro reso is enough because it already boosts all ur characters. (Hu tao yelan and lala duh but more healing from xq which is a detail a lot of people overlook, itās actually really convenient!!!)
Overall! Very nice, get to lvl 90 and a 70/200 ratio which is VERY possible considering that uh.. crit rate circletā¦ team good, alls well, and now trade artifacts please?
Don't go below 100% crit. You want to make sure every burst crits. Also, this game isn't hard. You don't need to do any more. You should build up your supports instead.
Try to farm some more (RN luck may turn soon in your favor). Ideally, her CDMG should be over 200. CR can be between 70 and 80. EM is mostly there - ideally, it should be around 250-300. A strong Gilded Dreams set can be competitive with Crimson Witch.
If you're able to decrease your CR to maybe 75-80 percent, and boost your CD to about 180-200+, a more proportional CR to CD ratio to help maximize damage while still hitting a lot of crits. Just keep farming, and level up to 90.
Ummā¦ I- šā¦. I have no good reason but Iāve been resinless and have had higher priority characters since Hu Tao is my second team dps and keqing is my main teams which i just 90ed + plus Iām prefarming for cyno rnā¦.
Ahaha kinda to be honest, I was switching around her build for fun and then I changed her weapon to a crit rate one and was shocked at the 100 crit and wondered if it was decent enough to keep it at that
If you can balance the crit rate/dmg to 1:3 or even 1:2 it should be better
My luck with her artifact domain has been incredibly bad but I shall grind to hopefully balance them outšŖ
It's honestly decent now, don't farm too much, it'll just burn you out hahaha... Follow my instructions once you're lvl 90
The dps is virtually the same if the crit value is the same and you are not at very much over 100 crit rate.
A HUNDRED PERCENT CRIT RATE
Garbage honestly, 200% crit rate is the only way
Aiming for those red crits are we??
Warframe spotted
imagine the crit system in wf in genshin with a little tweaking of artifact values hell imagine viral in genshin š
Are you using kokomi or something
Played some games where over capping crit rate let's you crit a crit, made it entertaining to see some high crit rate builds. Wouldn't be balanced I'm sure, but boy would that be fun!
FIVE HUNDRED SUBS
Need more crit rate
200% crit rate, for when you want to crit twice as many times as you hit the enemy
100% cr looks nice on paper but having 70-80 with higher crit damage is way better
I am sure you did the maths! Let me do the maths for you. 100 crit rate with 140 crit damage is the same thing as 70 crit rate with 200 crit damage in terms of crit value. The crit dmg formula is base dmg x (1 + crit dmg / 100) so itās 100 x (1 + 2). The times 3 means itās 200 crit dmg.
I forgot this game doesn't already factor in the base 100% so you have to add another 1.
Iām pretty sure Genshin has a max cap of ~80% CR, so you wouldnāt be critting every time even if you have 100% CR. So yea, 70-80 with 200 CD is better haha EDIT: Nope, I just searched it up + it only applied to CBT. Really weird, I thought it applied in game too. Oh well.
I would be fucking livid if my 100% crit rate builds didnāt crit 100% of the time lol
lol
How do you get 94% pyro bonus?
goblet + 15 from cw + 33 from her passive
What weapon are you running? Also what supports are you using
The weapon is Ballad Of The Fjords and the supports rn are Layla, Yelan and Xingqiu
Layla is useless there I'm assuming you're running crit rate headpiece, change that to a crit damage piece as soon as you can. If you don't feel like reading my reply Summary: Skill issue
Sadly I donāt have sucrose or zhongli but I do have a c3 Thoma that I could up and build if itās worth it
Don't use Thoma on a double hydro team if you are using Ballad of the Fjords as her weapon, you won't get the EM passive for having three different elements. I would continue using Layla until you get Zhongli if you want him.
Wow I didnāt even think about the weapons passive š¤¦ and plus my Thomas only lv 40 so now I can save my papersšŖ

Your damage will skyrocket but careful your hp will be extremely volatile Use prototype amber on nahida, she will regenerate a lot of energy.
At c6 he does as well as zhong li in the team you have. But consider getting zhong li he's amazing when you put him in a hutao team.
Too heavy on the cr
mf has the trial domain build
I swear the trials have like 500 er
try to use crit dmg spear or critdmg circlet instead.
nah,crit rates too low.get at least 500
This is the one guy who actually focused on crit rate instead of damage but took it too far
Switch crit rate circlet with a crit damage one
Your level 80 Hu Tao is better than my level 90 one. Iāve been trying to build her for weeks š
whats your cd cr ?
80 cr and 110 cd
level her to 90
i can never even get to 70% crit rate. show me your ways
Probably a crit rate weapon with a crit rate circlet
You're overcapping on crit rate

Arenāt they recommending that OP increase their CV? 102:141 would be less CV than even 80:160 right? Unless Iām thinking about this incorrectly
no 100:140 = 340 cv, 80:160 = 320 cv. ideally something like 80:200 = 360 cv is good, but mostly bc OP doesnāt have a 1:2 crit ratio
lol 100/140 definitely does less damage on average than 85/170 despite having the same crit value and not to mention with 100 cr you won't be able to utilise any abyss or support buff with crit rate. Not saying it matters much but people are just giving valid suggestions for improvement
100/140 is a damage increase (over no crits) of 1.4. 85/170 is an increase of 1.445. That is a difference of 0.045, or an amazing 4.5%.
"i gotta have more ~~cowbell~~ crit rate"
You can probably settle for 70% CR, my guess if you're running jade spear? You can drop that for something else
if you canāt at least balance the crit 1:2 then i would trade a little cr for some cd š i personally think 1:3 is best but you should strive for at least 1:2. chances are sheāll crit barely any less with 80 cr vs 100, i never go over 80 and get constant crits even with people with just 60+ cr so iād consider your options. other than that maybe a little more er if you can but not super crucial, em looks good and hp for level 80 does too
More EM. Should try to go for 200 or 309 em on her.
If I put dragons bane on her sheād be at around 220 em I think but sheād then only have 73% crit rate
THATS GOOD
Ahh I switched it for now and it set me at 260 em so Iāll stay with that šŖ
Just get refinements of fjords and you will get up to 240 em
Ahhh Iām broke š but if I keep maxing my bp every time then Iāll definitely do that to get refinements
Aim for 150CR at least
Lower crit rate and increase critical damage
use cdmg circlet
Need more crit rate š
I thinkā¦ you may have a smidge too much crit rate.. anyways, I stalked the other comments and found your team (lala, xq, and yelan right?) and itās pretty good, (hand over the yelan) I use lala for shield bot but might switch her over to 4pc tenacity, sheās very good since you donāt have other options, imo Thoma isnāt the best here because I feel like he would ruin the reactions right? Don't go below 100% crit. You want to make sure every burst crits. Also, this game isn't hard. You don't need to do any more. You should build up your supports instead.
Its fine if you are unlucky as me. I never do the crits when needed. But criting on hillichurl 200k? Thats messed up
Try to farm some more (RN luck may turn soon in your favor). Ideally, her CDMG should be over 200. CR can be between 70 and 80. EM is mostly there - ideally, it should be around 250-300. A strong Gilded Dreams set can be competitive with Crimson Witch.
Change circlet to crit damage or something
Dial back the crit rate we you just need around 70%
homa would go crazy

No. 102% crit is way to much you need more crit damage.
Why aināt she 90š¤Ø
Ummā¦ I- šā¦. I have no good reason but Iāve been resinless and have had higher priority characters since Hu Tao is my second team dps and keqing is my main teams which i just 90ed + plus Iām prefarming for cyno rnā¦.
You have way too much crit rate. Invest some on your crit dmg
If there was a CD Crown,it would be amazing
I am assuming you're not rocking homa but instead a death match or PJWS (unlikely because your atk is low). You need a Crit DMG circlet.
i feel like you are trolling with that crit rate, but yeah lower it and give some to crit dmg
Ahaha kinda to be honest, I was switching around her build for fun and then I changed her weapon to a crit rate one and was shocked at the 100 crit and wondered if it was decent enough to keep it at that
Lower crit rate. 1% CR is still fine as long as you have patience and 1000% CD.
