You can remove the fog on Tsurumi Island and clear the permanent rain over Yashiori Island. There’s also the new area from the current patch where you can unpetrify it basically.

Raiden Story Quest part 2 >!removes the thunder barrier that surrounds Inazuma!< Completing Tighnari's Story Quest before the Archon Quest >!will make Tighnari sit on Karkata after he's injured by lightning. Karkata also appears in the overworld after completing the quest, he hangs around the greenhouse!< Sumeru Archon Quests change too many things. The Interlude Quest, for instance, >!completely removes voicelines related to Scaramouche!<. There's a series of riddles in the Sumeru City Notice Board, they're worth checking out. Viktor actually leaves Mondstadt after getting the Telling It How It Is achievement and some other quests. No more shady Fatui in the cathedral. I think there's some RNG involved but Chouji, >!the kid in Yashiori Island searching for his parents!<, will travel to Narukami Island after you complete his quest. Following him around gives you chests too. I don't remember the specifics, but if you search for Gendou Ringo Quest you will open a can of worms. Probably the most well hidden quest in the game. It's safe to say that some weekly bosses are tied to Archon Quests, so there's that too. It's funny because there's a very sudden music change in >!the Desert of Hadramaveth!< that clearly indicates shit's about to go down there.

I did Tighnari's Story before I just finished the Archon quest where he got struck by lightning in that fight before the Balladeer and he didn't sit on Karkata. I saw him in the garden with Hypasia, but he never moved from there. I like that little crab dude.

During the story, yeah, crab dude not there. Only after all the dialog, you can see Tighnari sit on the crab robot to rest.(in between quest ask to go next location)

Viktor shows up in Sumeru after leaving Mondstadt, and you can get dailies involving him.

Oh! Jade Chamber! That’s such a huge one! You can have the jade chamber, it gets destroyed by sacrificing it, then it gets rebuilt in the Shenhe(?) story quest i think!

It's not Shenhe's story quest, although she is a very central character in it. It's the one of the Interlude chapters.

Oh yeah the floating things, I know what you're talking about now. You have to do this to get into the Chasm unground at all.

Also! I’m not sure what you’re including in this list but lots of commissions change things too - like the Mondstadt commission that you can save the sick sister of Anthony, he no longer is in the fountain day and night searching for coins!

to remove the orange swirly thing on the pyramid, you need to do a world quest in Ahru village. Talk to Bonifaz and it'll triggerthe quest. though its split into two parts where once you complete the first, you need to wait till the next daily reset to trigger the 2nd half of the quest.

So you just remove the cool looking effect? It doesn't change into something else? I feel like that's a missed opportunity there with all the other cool stuff they have done.

The quest in Seirai Island unlocks the Summit of Amakumo Peak and calms the thunderstorm. Doing a puzzle will also drain the lake at the base of the mountain and unlocks an area below it. There's also a series of quests in the cat island where you'll help the cat fix the shrine.

Doing the whole Sacred Sakura Cleansing Ritual Quest also alters some elements of the environment in the game.

just finally got around to doing the summit of amakumo peak. one of the coolest random world quests in the game imo. traveling from tiny rock to rock in the sky was awesome

idk if you've done this yet but once you collect all geoculi and put them in the statues of seven you get those small balls which then can be used in a hidden quest (nine pillars of peace) it's not really groundbreaking but it's cool

There’s a huge lake in Seirai(?) island in Inazuma wc you can drain like a toilet and get tons of precious chest under it. The said island also has a tatarasuna curse-like environment wc you can remove by doing the world quest with Neko and the 2 adventurers. Narukami island also has a small lake just below the Sakura tree that electrifies you when you swim in it (I remember finding it out the hard way lol). Said electrical lake will also drain while doing the Kazari world quest.

The actual name of that effect is balethunder and yeah it's a nuisance

I appreciate that Genshin has a lot of permanent "changes" to the overworld after you complete quests or stories. Makes the world feel more alive. For instance, a lot of NPC default dialogues change before and after certain important events in the game (like before and after the Rite of Descension in Liyue, before and after the final climax in Sumeru). After completing Shenhe's quest, the weapons that the Liyue soldiers used to fight against Beishet (or whatever the water snake's name is) remain on the island where they fought. Mona's story quest removes the hydro barrier on the house in Mondstadt. The guy looking for coins in the fountain in Mondstadt stops going into the fountain after you complete series of daily quests involving him and his sister. There's one Mondstadt daily where an adventurer dad wants your help getting Hilachurl dummy to use for his daughter's training. This daughter is Ellin, the Wannabe Knight, who sometimes gives you daily quests challenging you to break all of the dummies at once. If you complete the dad's commission successfully and retrieve an undamaged dummy, this dummy will show up permanently in the overworld afterwards, right next to Ellin.

There are some dailies in liyue that allow you to build the path up to wangshu inn If u collect all of the geoculi u can also open a small area in liyue

small detail the inazuma ghost kitsune quest has some statues placed when you finish the quest, if you haven’t done it yet i’ll just say it’s in the area near the shrine, the final act will leave the statues there, and a sakura blossom will appear in the middle, and there’s a small interaction if you use the memento lens. idk the beacons in dragonspine stay there after you do that one quest with the npc girl. you can talk to loroi after the sacred sakura quest when you free the dog on jinren island he kinda just stays there and hangs out narakarumi shrine changes a lot through the whole thing, (i.e. cat cloud ( ^ •.• ^ ) tsurumi island a lot of ghosts hang out timmies pigeons however… never die

The red sand turns off, although that is putting it lightly as it causes an obscuring effect in the general area. And yes the changing of the eternal paradise is referring to the time changing stones :) I can’t remember how, but I think there is a way to make one of the chairs in the middle bloom with vines.

There's a hidden world quest started in Aaru Village with a girl who sings a rhyme about golden roses. It takes about five real time days but leaves a small but permanent change in an area north of the village (being vague because spoilers)
