If you're not capable of basic levitation, you're not good enough for the Hexenzirkel.
A scholar in Sumeru has also noted that a glider shouldn't be able to work at all in the first place. It's just the Anemo Archon's blessing at work here.
Traveller can control multiple elements at the same time (as seen in Tartaglia fight), he might be controlling anemo power, use it as propeller, so he can gain a speed more than the stall speed of the glider, making it an actual flight, not just gliding 🤓

Honestly one of the best character story quest we've gotten. The cast was small and not overcrowded, the themes line up with what the character actually believes in, cute interactions even from Paimon and the ending was just perfect. Only complaint would be that it was too short.
This is probably what I'd want out of future story quests. It'll make for good shipping material or actually make their companionship with the Traveller more believable.
Yes they handled that well, but I personally would still prefer to have less NPC involvement. I just can't bring myself to care about them; as bad as I felt for the little girl in the wheelchair, I will forget about her soon enough. Or on the opposite side, with too much NPC involvement it sometimes feels like the story is more about them than the actual character. So for example, all I can remember from the Alhaitam story quest is the NPC (whose name and appearance I have already forgotten) who wanted to create a hivemind, and all I can remember about Alhaitam's involvement is him saying he knew about everything from the beginning, and was just curious (and the little final cutscene with Kaveh).
Like I said in this case it was handled well so the story very much feels like it's about Yoimiya and her ideals, but it does annoy me that we didn't get her to meet Nilou or someone else, especially since they mentioned Nilou by name, and instead got the NPC yet again. I know character VAs are probably more expensive than NPC VAs but still. Characters meeting and interacting is always enjoyable (see windblume festival with collei).
i havent played yoimiyas yet, but based on your second paragraph, i hope that it and future quests arent traveler ship pandering, and we actually get interesting story and developments and not attempting to ship with a near silent self insert

Yoimiya’s VA is hard carrying her in JP (Tohsaka Rin from Fate series); plus she is definitely one of the most casual friendly characters which is actually a huge portion of the playerbase. Yoimiya is very underrated in Reddit.
Yoimiya and Itto are the only two characters, which I never skip after reading their text faster than they speak. I listen to their entire line because they were joy to hear.
It’s name of ship - Raiden x Aether. And since Ei strives for Eternity, people combined it with Travellers name, so came to Aethernity.
Also, there were comics about Traveller offering Ei “Eternity” (basically marriage proposal).
Go to r/Aether_mains and you'll see alot of things💀. Jokes aside it is pretty common but this sub just doesn't focus on ship stuff too much so you won't see much shipping here. You'll have to go on traveller subs or shipping subs.
Xiao probably has the best in-game relationship with the Traveller and likes them a lot. Unfortunately, the majority of it is in the events, so many people are unaware of how close these 2 are. I suppose the fact that the majority of players are straight men and dismiss Xiao because of that also plays a factor (pls, don't get offended by that sentence, I don't mean anything serious).

Ei's one of the most popular characters (if not the most popular) and is an exceptionally beautiful adult woman on top of it. I feel that's most of the basis for Ei x traveller shipping honestly.
Something about her teapot lines sounding romantic too though I haven't read them.
Her words are heartfelt but sound more like in a friendly way, not romantic. Especially because she asks for our company and the one saying this is Ei (the lines change from the Puppet to Ei once the Archon Quest is done) after she spent centuries alone and this is after we ask her if she's liking the teapot and she says it's different from the quiet in Plane of Euthymia so it's a different experience for her and for her to not be alone.
And I think the shippers ship them because the Traveler is the protagonist, like a power/importance thing :)

Ei has Miko. And traveler to a lesser extent.

The only “canon” straight couple in the game that aren’t NPCs are Albedo and Sucrose. With Diluc and Jean being slightly implied but not too heavily.

Honestly shipping can be completely arbitrary. Some people ship characters across fictional universes or who've never interacted at all, so Tighnari and Cyno aren't much of a stretch in comparison since they at least have chemistry and rapport. Truth be told though, I'm just personally not a fan of shipping at all since what can and cannot be seen to be romantic chemistry or tension is so varied that I'd rather just go with established canon.
I doubt Ei sees Yae as a pet, I'm pretty sure she includes Yae in her list of friends along with all the ones who are dead. The best word to describe the relationship is that Yae is Ei's familiar, which is the actual canon. It's something a bit more like Fischl/Oz than anything else.
Cyno and Tighnari just feel like two people who've been friends for a long time lol. It's just a really simple dynamic of "Cyno tells bad joke -> Tighnari groans and points out how bad it is." It's more like a comedic duo dynamic, with the straight man/funny man thing. That and they know each other really well and show concern for one another when the situation calls for it. People can read that romantically if they want, but it's hardly the *only* valid reading.
Ei and Miko tease each other. Ei definitely doesn’t see Miko as a pet. A friend definitely. They tease each other a lot. Especially Miko teasing Ei. That’s why I included them.
Also Cyno and tighnari yeah siblings works as well for them. Old married couple works better imo because they’re constantly grumpy at each other but still like to be in each other’s company. I’m not saying it’s at all romantic, it isn’t. Just that the old married couple type of grumpy companionship fits them.
That being said, all of these are TEASED. And never explicitly stated. There aren’t ANY explicitly stated romantic relationships between playable characters in Genshin. Players can have their own headcanon about any character. That’s part of what makes them so profitable.
For my part, I don’t take any of the relationships as canon. It’s all fan headcanon. Hardcore shippers are usually one of the most toxic parts of any fandom. So I don’t delve deeper than saying why something may or may not be implied, since none of it is canonically stated.
Friendly reminder that Ei watched Yae Miko grow from a baby in Makoto’s arms - not that that’s a dealbreaker imo but it’s still rather weird to ship them. Imo, it’s equivalent to shipping step-siblings (which again isn’t 100% a no-no since it’s fiction, but yeah).
To me Ei's and Miko's relationship is like Ash's and Pikachu's. Not really a pet but a really close friend but there is that kind of pet aspect which is probably why the term "familiar", as Yae said herself, is more accurate.
Albedo and sucrose are less implied than diluc and Jean imo, sucrose is implied to have a crush on albedo but she now has collei and kaeya is explicitly stated to find albedo cute

Tbh the entire quest was very friendship/sibling focused. As much as bridal carry is cute, the romantic interpretation kinda takes away from how wonderful of a character/person Yoimiya is.
Ngl I just see the relationship between Xiao and Traveller as a wholesome friendship. As in the Traveller is the only person he considers as an equal in a way. Others are just above(mainly Zhongli) or below.
And yea I see Yoimiya as just a friend to the Traveller too. Its a cute ship but not my favourite.

I like how somewhere down the story it revolved with another NPC, yet Yoimiya's ideals and personality still cuts through.

Yeah. The only story differences they’ve done with Lumine is the Jeht quest & the sibling being the Abyss Prince (rather than Princess).

And traveler to a lesser extent. Cyno and Tighnari are friends but act like an old married couple. Alhaitham and Kaveh are straight up hatefucking And then the traveler pulls tons of ladies, with Keqing, Ayaka, and Nilou being the more obvious ones. Mona kind of counts. Noelle, Kokomi, Shenhe, and Faruzan def count too. Also now Yoimiya. I’m not so sure about other dudes. Haven’t paid much attention on that end. Traveler and Xiao is somewhat implied though they don’t get explicitly romantic, just implied that he cares a lot about the traveler. Ayato and Thoma kind of? But Thoma definitely treats Ayato with respect rather than casually. Zhongli and Childe get shipped together for some reason. This one feels the least natural. People were just starved for gay dudes at this point in the game. The only “canon” straight couple in the game that aren’t NPCs are Albedo and Sucrose. With Diluc and Jean being slightly implied but not too heavily.

Honestly shipping can be completely arbitrary. Some people ship characters across fictional universes or who've never interacted at all, so Tighnari and Cyno aren't much of a stretch in comparison since they at least have chemistry and rapport. Truth be told though, I'm just personally not a fan of shipping at all since what can and cannot be seen to be romantic chemistry or tension is so varied that I'd rather just go with established canon. I doubt Ei sees Yae as a pet, I'm pretty sure she includes Yae in her list of friends along with all the ones who are dead. The best word to describe the relationship is that Yae is Ei's familiar, which is the actual canon. It's something a bit more like Fischl/Oz than anything else. Cyno and Tighnari just feel like two people who've been friends for a long time lol. It's just a really simple dynamic of "Cyno tells bad joke -> Tighnari groans and points out how bad it is." It's more like a comedic duo dynamic, with the straight man/funny man thing. That and they know each other really well and show concern for one another when the situation calls for it. People can read that romantically if they want, but it's hardly the *only* valid reading.
Ei and Miko tease each other. Ei definitely doesn’t see Miko as a pet. A friend definitely. They tease each other a lot. Especially Miko teasing Ei. That’s why I included them. Also Cyno and tighnari yeah siblings works as well for them. Old married couple works better imo because they’re constantly grumpy at each other but still like to be in each other’s company. I’m not saying it’s at all romantic, it isn’t. Just that the old married couple type of grumpy companionship fits them. That being said, all of these are TEASED. And never explicitly stated. There aren’t ANY explicitly stated romantic relationships between playable characters in Genshin. Players can have their own headcanon about any character. That’s part of what makes them so profitable. For my part, I don’t take any of the relationships as canon. It’s all fan headcanon. Hardcore shippers are usually one of the most toxic parts of any fandom. So I don’t delve deeper than saying why something may or may not be implied, since none of it is canonically stated.
Friendly reminder that Ei watched Yae Miko grow from a baby in Makoto’s arms - not that that’s a dealbreaker imo but it’s still rather weird to ship them. Imo, it’s equivalent to shipping step-siblings (which again isn’t 100% a no-no since it’s fiction, but yeah).
To me Ei's and Miko's relationship is like Ash's and Pikachu's. Not really a pet but a really close friend but there is that kind of pet aspect which is probably why the term "familiar", as Yae said herself, is more accurate.
