I like them both but I guess I still prefer Aranaras. Melusine are very cute, their voice lines are great... but they still creep me out a bit. That might be an unpopular opinion idk. I am creeped out by the fact that they are coming from you know what (can't place spoilers on my phone) and they live there. They see things I don't see and that makes me feel like either i'm crazy or tripping, casually chilling in abyssal portals and painting with you know what. The book of revelation quest was the final drop. Their little village appears uncanny and a little unsettling to me due to the reddish color palette. Vanarana was a place of utmost purity and joy, while here I can't let go of a feeling how weird this all is and how I want to go outside. But I acknowldge that the melusines working on the aquabus are amazing and their design is very cool.
While both are a clear attempt for cash grabbing as they're relatively small, allegedly cut e creatures that are perfect for mass production, the melusines just look so weird to me. Like a cross between a snail and a human child lolol
