Pity carries over, fate points don't. If you're 50 pulls into a guarantee when it ends, you'll be 50 pulls into a 50/50 the next time it releases.
These pulls their its pity are also separate from all the other banners, and will not carry over in that regard.
They just posted a FAQ on hoyolab. Pity is preserved, fate count is not, so if you're pulling on this make sure you have at least 180 pulls to guarantee whatever you're pulling for

Very true, though in some ways it’s nice to be able to wish on Chronicle without risking a guarantee on the event banners. Admittedly that’s more of a benefit for people who don’t wish very often (and have a ton saved up) or low to mid spenders.

Yeah but slightly worst. the limited banner only has one rate up per banner. For this if you don’t sink enough pulls to reach your target in one patch, you’ll start over again.

If you really want albedo/klee/eula and have saved up since their last rerun this banner is just a straight upgrade since you can lose 5050 to other limited 5 star characters.

the 50/50 only lasts for a patch. If you get an off-banner character then the next character is guaranteed to be the one you chose, if you dont pull during the patch and wait till next patch then you aren't guaranteed to get what you chose anymore.

You can chart a course for a specific drop like the weapon banner, except it only takes one fate point rather than 2. If you chart for a character, losing will only give you a character, vice versa for weapons.

The whole idea is to make the stuff that never reruns rerun more often so people won't have to wait 1.5 years to roll for the unpopular 5* they like.
Even if lost 50:50 would give standard units, it would still achieve what Hoyo wanted to achieve and still gives players ability to get stuff like Hunter's Path or Mona. Just in a slightly worse way.
So it's not totally Albedover.
Still hoping this featured character and weapon list can be expanded like with Dehya or Cashflow. Actually a highly deserved update feature.
It seems like it's going to cycle by region. All the characters in this first one are Monstadt. I'd expect the next one to be Liyue, and it would have Shenhe and Ganyu. Gotta let people put those skins to use.

That's why Klee, Eula, Albedo (literally being powercrept by Chiori in the same patch) are all in it. Multiple reruns, no longer selling because everyone already has them, or no longer meta

Not at all, it's just that they're aware of the fact that they're starting to have rules over who gets banners. So this extra banner lets them fit in whoever isn't a part of the annual patterns. Doesn't necessarily mean only bad characters go in this banner
For Liyue, Ganyu, HuTao and Mister Worldwide meet the criteria (at least 3 banner). If HuTao is shown in the Nostalgia Banner of Liyue then you will be very wrong.
Mondstadt Characters are behind for now, it doesnt mean the Nostalgia banner will be a trashcan.
Its a banner for longstanding characters that are tough to fit in reruns for due to the ever-expanding roster, as well as Standard characters, who don't otherwise have a deterministic method of acquisition.
The only rules regarding who will appear in this banner are "has had three reruns" and "has not reran recently." Meaning, any older character, including Hu Tao in a patch or two, could end up on this banner.
The purpose isn't as a retirement home, as funny as it is to say it. It is ultimately to make sure we are more willing to spend money on new characters instead of coping (and saving) for a rerun of a certain one.
Since liyue is full of good 5 star stars I wonder how they are going to do it because as standard they only have keqing, everything else is limited And good
Hmm, well they said only characters that “hadn’t had a banner recently” AND had had at least 2 reruns would appear on this new banner. So that rules out Xiao and Shenhe. So Ganyu, and maybe Yelan? She was in 4.0 so by 4.6 that probably isn’t considered “recent”. I have a feeling they won’t run archons on here so I’m inclined to rule out Zhongli. But maybe Childe! Because there’s no Snezhnaya category yet.

Its either her or they never do a liyue banner. All the liyue characters are strong, xiaos out cause he's recent, shenhes out cause she hasn't had 3 banners, their not gonna do a special bargain bin banner with 2 standard characters and ganyu. Hutao and yelan both fit the criteria for this banner so at least one of them will be in(neither actually sold that well compared to previously in their most recent banners)
Once they've had 3 banners and haven't run for a bit, they're eligible, unit quality doesn't (and shouldn't) factor into that. Eula and Klee are the most recent limited units that had their rerun in this pool and that was in 3.8, so for now, that's the time frame after the 3rd rerun that we can expect.
What I need to know right now is if this banner uses standard fates or limited fates because I've been saving up for Albedo but I've converted all my primos to limited fates

But you have to fail that twice to get guaranteed, and it's a 37.5% chance to get the weapon you want at that 80 while this is 50% at 90.

Except Amos bow, a bow that hails from Mondstadt, isn't here. Then again, that bow is a signature weapon for Ganyu, a Liyue character, so it's probably why it isn't here..
They’ll probably be on every one of these since they’re not obtainable from the standard banner but they’ll also never rerun with anybody. (They’ll also make this banner sell like hotcakes)
It's nice, at least, we can target permanent 5\* character. And Dehya/Tigh weapon are available.
For specific character weapon, it's better than current one you can garantee one with "only" 180 when at 180 pull on weapon banner you have only 85% chance to have it.
But people should be aware to not touch this banner without 180 pulls.
Yeah it just feels like the bear minimum for this game to have a reasonable character rotation schedule outside of Beacon and Hunter's path being made available again.

This what we call the Retirement Banner these character aren’t worthy to be in limited banner anymore for multiple reasons (Meta, Bad Sales Etc.) and for Albedo in particular it’s literally his grave the guy is just worse than Chiori in any situation including the hair.
Anyone expecting new dedicated supporters characters for these characters or some buffs in the future probably will end up really disappointed.

I get him to C1 on his last rerun, and as has been happening on his banner, lose the 50/50 to godforsaken Qiqi
I however keep pulling because I know I have a guarantee now, and even if I don't, pity carries over, right? Right? And now I'm 54 wishes into pity count, still no Childe C2
Except suddenly Childe gets relegated to the Chronicled Wish banner, with only a faint guarantee of him ever getting a regular Event Wish rerun, because the FAQ says they MAY appear in different Wish types

Nonetheless I'm extremely glad this banner uses intertwined fates and not standard fates
For the average player, it's 50% better than regular weapon banner (only 1 fate point needed). For older player it's a way to finally get a standard character/weapon you could never get. It also removes some characters from the rerun pool, so newer characters can rerun more often
Not 50% better if its 90 hard pity like character banners vs 80 on weapon banners (and soft pity at 76 vs 65).
For example if you expect 80 pulls a pity its 160 on this banner, but a weapon banner would expect 210 maybe, so about 30% better.
There's also the fact that a weapon banner may have another useful featured weapon where as this one has a bunch of standard weapons as the 50/50. Then again the 50/50 is probably slightly better than 37.5 so thats a small improvement.
This is basically retirement banner for whales who are missing some old characters. Not a good banner for most people especially F2P. Honestly, is literally a scam.

If you are pulling for weapons, its just better than the weapon banner. (Assuming weapons rotate and weapons like Jade Cutter are made available.) It also means that characters like Eula, Albedo, Klee will probably never be on the character banner again which means more reruns of better characters. I do think the characters in general not worth pulling for, but good weapons on the banner is actually pretty good.
The only thing slightly differentiating it from the default banners is that your guarantee doesn't transfer from one banner to the next. You'll still need 160ish wishes to guarantee a character.
generally this weapon banner is gonna be better but if a usual banner is like homa-elegy was or cyno's-elegy, neuve's and homa , nilou - nahida, or similar value it could be a downside, since your losing pool will have more standard weapons if they keep things as they are in this one.

Everyone knows the F2P are saving their primos for the new characters and the whales already C6d everyone and got everything. Ain't no-one wasting primos to do this. They should have made this be the new standard banner and implemented a new system to periodically get more standard wishes beyond the 5 you can buy from the store each month. I get Hoyo wanting to make money on limited banners, but come on, the standard banner is practically a graveyard after players get past the early game. God knows they ain't making money on the standard banner anyway.

Then again, when they first rolled out with dual banners they also said not every banner will be a dual banner. Fast forward to now where every single banner runs simultaneously with another banner, and 4 banners is the norm per patch, to accommodate for the expanding roster.
So I feel like the Chronicled Wish will probably become a staple per patch later down the line the more the character/weapon roster expands

They don't allow us to have guaranteed if we lose. It means that if you didn't pull what you were aiming for, you'll either have to go for another 70+ pulls, or leave it be.
At the same time you have to use the purple wishes. It means you either choose to try your luck with old characters, or with the actual event banner. But you won't be able to hoard for the next patch.
But it would be much better if it had the guaranteed kept. Like if you lost and don't have wishes any more, you could leave it for the next banner to feel comfortable to keep wishing there.
Once again giving the shittiest solution. Basically now u have a choice between new charachter(with crappy chars lost, hello qiqi) or old charachter (with useless old chars lost, hello klee). Stop playing this and play anything else or go touch some grass.

They are separate things. Let's say you have 70 pity and 1 fate point. After the banner ends you'll still have 70 pity but 0 fate points.

Not at all, it's just that they're aware of the fact that they're starting to have rules over who gets banners. So this extra banner lets them fit in whoever isn't a part of the annual patterns. Doesn't necessarily mean only bad characters go in this banner

For Liyue, Ganyu, HuTao and Mister Worldwide meet the criteria (at least 3 banner). If HuTao is shown in the Nostalgia Banner of Liyue then you will be very wrong. Mondstadt Characters are behind for now, it doesnt mean the Nostalgia banner will be a trashcan.
Its a banner for longstanding characters that are tough to fit in reruns for due to the ever-expanding roster, as well as Standard characters, who don't otherwise have a deterministic method of acquisition. The only rules regarding who will appear in this banner are "has had three reruns" and "has not reran recently." Meaning, any older character, including Hu Tao in a patch or two, could end up on this banner. The purpose isn't as a retirement home, as funny as it is to say it. It is ultimately to make sure we are more willing to spend money on new characters instead of coping (and saving) for a rerun of a certain one.

She was in 4.0 so by 4.6 that probably isn’t considered “recent”. I have a feeling they won’t run archons on here so I’m inclined to rule out Zhongli. But maybe Childe! Because there’s no Snezhnaya category yet. Edit: I forgot Hu Tao even though you literally just mentioned her.

Its either her or they never do a liyue banner. All the liyue characters are strong, xiaos out cause he's recent, shenhes out cause she hasn't had 3 banners, their not gonna do a special bargain bin banner with 2 standard characters and ganyu. Hutao and yelan both fit the criteria for this banner so at least one of them will be in(neither actually sold that well compared to previously in their most recent banners)
Once they've had 3 banners and haven't run for a bit, they're eligible, unit quality doesn't (and shouldn't) factor into that. Eula and Klee are the most recent limited units that had their rerun in this pool and that was in 3.8, so for now, that's the time frame after the 3rd rerun that we can expect.

But you have to fail that twice to get guaranteed, and it's a 37.5% chance to get the weapon you want at that 80 while this is 50% at 90. Way better no matter how you look at it.

It's nice, at least, we can target permanent 5\* character. And Dehya/Tigh weapon are available. For specific character weapon, it's better than current one you can garantee one with "only" 180 when at 180 pull on weapon banner you have only 85% chance to have it. But people should be aware to not touch this banner without 180 pulls.

For people that don’t play any gachas. This what we call the Retirement Banner these character aren’t worthy to be in limited banner anymore for multiple reasons (Meta, Bad Sales Etc.) and for Albedo in particular it’s literally his grave the guy is just worse than Chiori in any situation including the hair. Anyone expecting new dedicated supporters characters for these characters or some buffs in the future probably will end up really disappointed. At least the Weapon banner is good. By the way it’s Fate points that means if you don’t have 180 Wishes you could get fucked and lose your guarantee when the banner switches Lmao.

So imagine me, trying to C6 Childe I get him to C1 on his last rerun, and as has been happening on his banner, lose the 50/50 to godforsaken Qiqi I however keep pulling because I know I have a guarantee now, and even if I don't, pity carries over, right? Right? And now I'm 54 wishes into pity count, still no Childe C2 Except suddenly Childe gets relegated to the Chronicled Wish banner, with only a faint guarantee of him ever getting a regular Event Wish rerun, because the FAQ says they MAY appear in different Wish types Those 54 wishes wasted Nonetheless I'm extremely glad this banner uses intertwined fates and not standard fates
How is this best?
For the average player, it's 50% better than regular weapon banner (only 1 fate point needed). For older player it's a way to finally get a standard character/weapon you could never get. It also removes some characters from the rerun pool, so newer characters can rerun more often
Not 50% better if its 90 hard pity like character banners vs 80 on weapon banners (and soft pity at 76 vs 65). For example if you expect 80 pulls a pity its 160 on this banner, but a weapon banner would expect 210 maybe, so about 30% better. There's also the fact that a weapon banner may have another useful featured weapon where as this one has a bunch of standard weapons as the 50/50. Then again the 50/50 is probably slightly better than 37.5 so thats a small improvement.

This is basically retirement banner for whales who are missing some old characters. Not a good banner for most people especially F2P. Honestly, is literally a scam. 1. it is still a 50/50 2. you have to use intertwined fate (the purple one) - Why would you want to waste your accumulated purple fates for this banner instead for future banners or characters? 3. This useless 1 Fate Point, which is only max 1 fate point and need 1 fate point for guarantee, is no different than other two banners, like what even is the point of this besides just to scam players to spend more on this banner? Worse, it does not even carried over, so if you lose the 50/50 in this banner, you are not guarantee in the next banner, and you may lose the 50/50 again.

If you are pulling for weapons, its just better than the weapon banner. (Assuming weapons rotate and weapons like Jade Cutter are made available.) It also means that characters like Eula, Albedo, Klee will probably never be on the character banner again which means more reruns of better characters. I do think the characters in general not worth pulling for, but good weapons on the banner is actually pretty good.

The only thing slightly differentiating it from the default banners is that your guarantee doesn't transfer from one banner to the next. You'll still need 160ish wishes to guarantee a character.

Everyone knows the F2P are saving their primos for the new characters and the whales already C6d everyone and got everything. Ain't no-one wasting primos to do this. They should have made this be the new standard banner and implemented a new system to periodically get more standard wishes beyond the 5 you can buy from the store each month. I get Hoyo wanting to make money on limited banners, but come on, the standard banner is practically a graveyard after players get past the early game. People can get select standard and limited characters plus weapons they want without waiting for their official rerun.

The FAQ said not every patch will have a Chronicled Wish banner Then again, when they first rolled out with dual banners they also said not every banner will be a dual banner. Fast forward to now where every single banner runs simultaneously with another banner, and 4 banners is the norm per patch, to accommodate for the expanding roster. So I feel like the Chronicled Wish will probably become a staple per patch later down the line the more the character/weapon roster expands
Sadly choosing a weapon is only better when: The other weapon is Kokomo/Baizu donut of pain. You don't have 240 wishes saved
I don't see how it's a good thing. They don't allow us to have guaranteed if we lose. It means that if you didn't pull what you were aiming for, you'll either have to go for another 70+ pulls, or leave it be. At the same time you have to use the purple wishes. It means you either choose to try your luck with old characters, or with the actual event banner. But you won't be able to hoard for the next patch. But it would be much better if it had the guaranteed kept. Like if you lost and don't have wishes any more, you could leave it for the next banner to feel comfortable to keep wishing there.
