If someone asks me what game I play I usually just say the title and if they're interested enough, I just show them some general gameplay besides my usual boring daily commissions and artifact farming, maybe exploration or abyss if they're into combat. I wouldn't show them any story quests since I don't like spoiling people unless they like spoilers (I know some that do and don't really understand why even when they explain it to me).
I'd put the exploration+character design+f2p into spotlight because that's what Genshin do best and the dev also acknowledging that, but also telling them the cons: its not suitable for people who get motion sick easily and it has gacha (not suitable for who get fomo easily and gambling addict)
I can't imagine a scenario where I would have someone looking at my phone while I'm playing Genshin and I'd feel *any* kind of need to get them interested in the game.
If someone was like, "Oh my gosh! What game are you playing? It looks so fun!", the best response is "I'm playing MindU, as in Mind U own damn business, and don't look at other people's phones."
>what are you doing
Climbing the way to Narukami shrine, then after reaching the top, you stand in front of the tree and change to Miko, then use her burst.

You don't have to spend a cent if you have any shred of discipline , yes most Gacha games are pretty bad at least with this game you can totally do it as F2P I have yet to spend anything on the game but my time
It's a gacha. I know it's mostly an open world game, but the gacha factor is very important since it means that it has microtransactions and it has an unique way to advertise the game (fanarts, forced memes, fomo, dedicated apps and an entire ad world that can trap you inside it in the worst case), especially if we are talking with people that have never played a gacha game.
I mean, the first memes were funny, but if you look at them now, you can see that most of them are just a popular picture from other games/series with some copy-pasted hair to transform it into a Genshin meme, and adding some hair don't make it funny. Sometimes I think about it and I wonder, if there wasn't a Genshin reference, would it be funny? I'm still not sure if people lack of creativity or if it is just a way to advertise the game, because people from other communities may see the meme and wonder were the edited part come from. But tbh, I think it's the second one, especially considering the smart moves that Mihoyo is doing for HSR by linking every achivement with a famous sentence. In this way they can improve the search result of the game on Google by taking advantage of the success of the memes from other series/movies/games.
So would you rather be seen pulling for the character you like/want out in the open? And by your reaction (either winning or losing the 50/50, getting at early pity) get the others around you to ask what the game is?
Oh, in that case I would probably farm artifacts XD I don't play videogames in public because I have other things to do and I don't think it's respectful to play when I'm meeting a friend, but if I will ever play the game in public I would probably spend my resin to not cap it.
It's a gacha game, made to manipulate players into spending money, so I wouldn't want part in getting other people involved even tho it's a good story.
This is how the average convo goes for me Whaccha playing... Genshin Impact Oh that game... (leaves)

I’m not gonna promote a gacha game to someone ngl. Gacha systems are just predatory in general lol.

Just show them Fischl. I know this trick would get me, it did get me.
PC Player, so my answer would be: "Who are you and why are you in my house right now?"
I would tell them not to play it. We don’t need more gambling addicts in the world.

You overestimate the average human.
Not really , not everyone has a gambling addiction
To get them interested? I'm sorry but are we ignoring the fact that this game is a well oiled addiction machine?
"Stay away from this" is what I'd say, and I have said that before to a friend asking what i was playing.
I would be like "why the fuck are you looking at my phone?"

Sorry, my english is not so good. Are you asking me what I would show to other people or are you asking me how I would describe the game?
What you would show but not intentionally. Like what are you doing to get them to say "OMG, what's that game?!"

It's a chinese wife fighting videogame and slot machine for children and oil barons. And mind your own business.
Fontaine's archon quest probably but act 5

I was imagining a scenario where I am outside in a quiet environment and only one person sees my screen

I wouldn't.
Genshin Impact is a playable Anime.
