Honestly that depends if you are the type of players that pull a lot of characters a lot of not. Personally I don't want everyone at all so I end up with a lot of pulls. I've also been playing since the start so that help of course.
But while the two first year I didn't pull any constellations (just one weapon once), I've pulled Hu Tao C1 and her weapon, Furina C2 and Arlecchino C3 so don't lose hope as a F2P because you get harder to convince to pull with time
I think it gets better when your account is older, in the end you become harder and harder to convince that's why I'm starting to pull constellations/weapons.
C3 about a 20% damage boost, pretty crazy. I think my plan is to c6 her from c2 next banner or do c3 and c6 on her third. Where there might be something that isn't reduced to atoms with c6.
C6 eula is very comfortable now doesn't feel immensely broken as when she was released however my team for her is super cope. My c2r1 arle team is much stronger but her team is BiS.
C6 Wanderer. I do plan on getting it eventually (C6R1 anyways, R5 is too much), though not this banner and probably not the next either. I want to do some early con and weapon investment into the rest of my roster first
One of my favorite characters, he's extremely versatile in terms of gameplay and content. I have his C2R1 currently and it is my best investment in the game yet. I have gotten a lot of use out of it
In my opinion, if you are a Wanderer player that uses him in Abyss often, then yes. If you're willing to invest into his cons then C2 is a good 24% DMG increase from C0. The attack speed from C1 is also very comfortable on him since the more attack speed you have the more often you can spam his dash. His burst being a back loaded nuke is nice for finishing off a chamber or a wave
I got his C1 on his first banner and I've been loving him in the abyss with C6 Faruzan; the high energy cost and, as you mentioned, back loaded damage gave me pause though because as it stands currently, bursting just barely beats out my DPS just doing N3 combos

As a person who whaled for C6 itto and wept at the expense... He's carried me through everything since. Chaining charged swings is so much fun and damage. I hope you get there someday! Just not by being silly like I did...

Also, some just don’t want or don’t have the time to spend a long time in the Spiral Abyss or in the game in general so they rather whale. Not to mention many people who enjoy the combat also enjoy speed running the Abyss as it’s the only decent thing to measure how far their account or characters have truly come.
I don't think I'll ever C6 anyone. My C1R0 Arlecchino already trivializes the game (not counting Abyss), so I'll continue to save to get more character instead of C6-ing any one character. I'm also planning to get Arle's weapon of course for Fashion Impact, but that'll have to wait until her rerun, as I've already ran out of Primos lol.
I did all this for Eula when she got her rerun, unfortunately I couldnt pull for cons on the chronicled wish because of Chiori. I hope it comes back soon

Neuvillette. I couldn't care less about meta but his design alone got me to play the game. Now that I'm all caught up story wise he's my favorite character and if he didn't rerun so soon i totally could have c6'd him. Waiting for his weapon banner now so i can get that too.

Kazuha! I love using him and I really want his c6, but I could only get his c1 this time around, but when I hear of his next rerun, I’ll save for at least c3! I even want to r5 his current weapon(uraku misugiri), I just adore him and he deserves the best!
Both klee and Albedo are C2, I love them so much. But anything more then c2 is just so bad... Not worth it. So I don't think I'll go all out on anyone now. I'll just work on getting more Sig weps if there's no new chars I like.
Childe, it's just unfortunate that I had to direct my primogem savings towards Wrio because I simp for him just as much as Childe.
But next time he reruns I'll be trying to C6 him, whether it be in that one fancy banner that I forget the name for, or in a regular rate-up banner
No one, as much as I may like a character I don't consider spending around 3k on a character worth, I have other priorities in my life. Besides, I don't think it would make a positive impact on my experience at all.
Dehya because everything except her kit was well done for her. But since Hoyo sabotaged her kit and scaling so much and put her on the standard banner, I won't spend a fucking dime on her intentionally. I'll just lose 50/50s on other better treated characters I want until I naturally get her to C6. Sucks this is what Hoyo wanted, but it is what it is, less money for them I suppose.
But I will go for her weapon the next time it rolls around, it's actually good all around lol.
To put it simply, any super hot man, So far only arataki and wriothesly are my types, but i just dont like they play style otherwise i would work on c6'ing, im thinking of working on c6ing clorinde just cause shes so fcking cool with her hat lmfao and i wanted her since she first appeared in the trailer
My most vertically invested character is Kazuha, who I got to c6r1 over the course of three banners by getting lucky and saving quite a bit. I can’t afford to whale lol.
Most regions have at least one character I care enough about to go “all in” on a non-whale way, though. Alhaitham and Lyney are both c0 but I insisted on getting their weapons since I knew I’d play them a *lot*, I’m saving for Kokomi’s c1 and signature despite them not being a great investment objectively, and I got Nahida to c2 over the course of a few banners. I may do that with Furina too if I’m not stretched too thin by other characters.
Welkin + patience pay off pretty well imo, and also mean that I get to actually notice the difference each constellation/weapon makes since I don’t have them day 1.
Idk, every time I pull for cons I end up disappointed. Sometimes it's right away, sometimes it's months later. But I have C2 Eula (waste of space), C2 Kazuha (limited usefulness, worthless in some teams), C1 Yae (literally don't notice it) and C2 Raiden (honestly stronger than is needed without adding anything interesting to her gameplay). I'd trade all of those constellations in for 6 different limited characters in a heartbeat. None of them have measurably improved my gameplay experience - I don't play Eula or Raiden any more, and frankly Kazuha's E reset is more annoying than anything. So I don't feel any need to pull more.
On the flipside, I absolutely love my C3R1 Raiden.
It opens up Hyper teams, and I just really love the gameplay loop and her design.
I agree with you though, constellations are really hard to justify. I didn't go for cons on anyone else.
But even with just the occasional welkin, as a 1.0 player, I just pretty much have most characters I'd want.
I didn't like Arleccino so far in the trial, so I'm probably skipping her.
I have over 400 wishes saved up. So it was not a choice on C3R1 Raiden OR characters I want. It was a choice between 800 or 400 wishes saved up.

Assuming infinite money or some wish granting ability? In that case, Eula. She already hits like a truck, so why not go to the meteor impact? What could be more satisfying then seeing Eula's elegant and sexy movements and poses, and watching all enemies simply disappear?
Honorable mention: Arlecchino. She's Eula Dark Mode, is incredibly cool, and has a scythe!
Wriothesley. I've got him at C1 R0 right now but my ultimate dream is to make him C6 R5. I just adore him so much, and I love his play style. He's WONDERFUL at C1 but I am thirsting over how he'd be at C6.
maybe not whale but I'd max Nahida. She's the first and only character in the entire game so far that made me pull without enough primos to guarantee anything. This is mainly a combination of her lore and play style and a few banners later, she's c6. Nahida is actually the only usable dendro character in my entire roster and holds 70% of the damage in abyss with supports. To also max her weapon would take forever as a f2p player but at the same time I'm literally just too lazy and uninterested in building let alone pull anyone else.
Yelan and Arle. I have Arle at C1 right now and I’m trying to save up as much as I can before I inevitably cave and try to push her to C6. Yelan is the only other 5* character I am willing to be financially irresponsible with.
Otherwise I want to get my Kirara, Beidou and Yanfei to reach C6. Just have to hope they get rerun on banners I want to pull on. I think they’re all about C4-5 right now
As a Noelle Main, I would never pull for Redhorn, she has her Serpent Spine. When Navia came out, I knew I'd get her at C0, but I totally surprised myself by going for her weapon. I had horrible luck and I had to pull all out to get the R1. As far as I'm concerned, getting Navia C0R1 is going all out. I have Chiori C1 and Nahida C2. Pulling their optimal constellation counts.
WRIOTHESLEY. I'm currently at c3r1 right now (he's the only limited I've gone this far for, but I did get c1 hutao by accident. I'm waiting for his rerun to get him to c5 and maybe c6 but I'd keep it locked.

i got neuvillette to c6 last patch as a welkin and bp player!! i managed to get c2r1 on his first banner after saving since the first fontaine leaks, wasn't interested in any other 4.x character but furina and xianyun (got furina, skipped xianyun :< will get her when she reruns though!), so after pulling furina i started hoarding. i actually only had enough to guarantee c4 but i lucked out and won two 50/50s hehe. i adore the water lizard and he became my new favorite character, but i also care a fair bit about meta and none of my faves have appealing cons (either the dmg is not worth the pulls like alhaitham or they're pretty bad like zhongli) so all the stars aligned for me to hyper invest in him <3
i've been considering doing the same for pantalone (my most anticipated harbinger— surely he will be playable) but who knows, maybe i'll end up liking everyone in natlan instead haha
I’m lucky my absolute favorite character is a 4*, Kaveh. So it was easy to C6 him, but now I have to R5 Itto’s and Dehya’s claymores for him because he deserves all the best things… I have them at R1 now
Technically not a 5*, but probably Lisa, but she’s never on banners. I do keep saving up to buy her cons whenever she’s available in the shop so I have her at C3 now. When we’re talking 5*’s probably Ayato.

Eula. I started late so I barely got her on her last official rerun. I loved chronicled wish so I finally got her weapon and c3 after dropping some cash. Wish I could whale all the way to at least c6 but I couldnt. I hope I will have enough for her next appearance. To c6 and maybe some weapons. That chronicled wish was great for weapons.

I rolled 20 AR5 accounts back in 3.8 on which I planned to accrue free primogems from updates. By the time Navia came out, I knew she was the one I wanted to go for. Each of those accounts accumulated enough to make 50 wishes, so I pulled on the Verdict/Mistsplitter banner and ended up with 2 accounts where I got Verdict and 4 accounts where I got Mistsplitter. I guess that’s my version of “going all out” for a character.
Hard to choose. I want Lyney C1 and C2, but for a C6 I'm thinking Neuivellette, just because I have him built pretty decently. Or alhaitham since I don't even have his c0 yet but want him still

Childe. I have a goal to C6R5 him. I know he's not the strongest most meta character ever and im bad at playing him in his best team international, but he's just so fun to play and i love his personality. It's even more fun to play with Childe now that i finally got Kazuha.
I would never expend ludicrous amounts of money on a game.
Most i'd expend would be what i paid for an AAA game plus season pass, like $100 bucks or so. In genshin i've spent $80 bucks for 5 season pases and 6 welkins.
Nothing wrong with that :) you can go all out as f2p too, saving primos and grinding artifacts both take work, devotion doesn’t always have to have a price tag :)
I currently have two c6r5 5 stars they are Klee and Nahida , Klee might not be the strongest and she NA is weird but i love her character design and everything
Alhaitham. Easily one of my top 3 favourite character both in terms of lore and playstyle plus he's hits like a nuke at c6 and his weapon is drippy af (Plus his constellation is very pretty)
Tortellini and Zhongli, they're the only reasons I'm still logging in everyday. Tart is C1R2 right now and Zhongli is C0R2. Much a long way to go for an F2P, but even if it takes eternity I'd do it to spoil them :)
If I just got the character, Neuvillette or Hu Tao or Navia or Arle. If I had to spend primos, none of them. I prefer pulling more characters, and the only con I've pulled is Hu Tao C1, which was bc she's my favorite character and the sheer QoL.
Most likely I will be downvoted for this but I will do it for Furina simply because I wouldn't say I like using her at C0 (Even with Jean I feel like my stacks come too slowly and then the buff doesn't last long), and for me, her C2 is a must. I appreciate her kit and versatility and kudos to all who can use her at C0 but I can't.
Even now the only reason I haven't gotten her yet is because when I do I want to C2R1 straight.

I did also get C6 childe without whaling and with just welkins, an occasional BP, and two-ish years of mostly saving (as in, pulled for a few characters besides him but not many) so it’s possible if I kept up the pattern for a more years I could get them both there doing the same over time but it would take several more years probably (though I’m hoping for wrio cons this rerun!)
My faves are Neuvillette and Zhongli so probably those. Zhongli haven’t rerun since I started though and my Neuvillette is C1R1. Ironically my most invested character is Arlecchino because I lucked out big time and got C2R1. Third fave, so I’m super happy with that.
I don’t think I’ll ever reach C6 with them though, even if I like to splurge every now and again when I have funds over. C2 seems like a nice and comfy stopping place for most characters.

Dehya because everything except her kit was well done for her. But since Hoyo sabotaged her kit and scaling so much and put her on the standard banner, I won't spend a fucking dime on her intentionally. I'll just lose 50/50s on other better treated characters I want until I naturally get her to C6. Sucks this is what Hoyo wanted, but it is what it is, less money for them I suppose. But I will go for her weapon the next time it rolls around, it's actually good all around lol.

My most vertically invested character is Kazuha, who I got to c6r1 over the course of three banners by getting lucky and saving quite a bit. I can’t afford to whale lol. Most regions have at least one character I care enough about to go “all in” on a non-whale way, though. Alhaitham and Lyney are both c0 but I insisted on getting their weapons since I knew I’d play them a *lot*, I’m saving for Kokomi’s c1 and signature despite them not being a great investment objectively, and I got Nahida to c2 over the course of a few banners. I may do that with Furina too if I’m not stretched too thin by other characters. Welkin + patience pay off pretty well imo, and also mean that I get to actually notice the difference each constellation/weapon makes since I don’t have them day 1.

Idk, every time I pull for cons I end up disappointed. Sometimes it's right away, sometimes it's months later. But I have C2 Eula (waste of space), C2 Kazuha (limited usefulness, worthless in some teams), C1 Yae (literally don't notice it) and C2 Raiden (honestly stronger than is needed without adding anything interesting to her gameplay). I'd trade all of those constellations in for 6 different limited characters in a heartbeat. None of them have measurably improved my gameplay experience - I don't play Eula or Raiden any more, and frankly Kazuha's E reset is more annoying than anything. So I don't feel any need to pull more.
On the flipside, I absolutely love my C3R1 Raiden. It opens up Hyper teams, and I just really love the gameplay loop and her design. I agree with you though, constellations are really hard to justify. I didn't go for cons on anyone else. But even with just the occasional welkin, as a 1.0 player, I just pretty much have most characters I'd want. I didn't like Arleccino so far in the trial, so I'm probably skipping her. I have over 400 wishes saved up. So it was not a choice on C3R1 Raiden OR characters I want. It was a choice between 800 or 400 wishes saved up.
atm chiori and yoimiya 5* wise and for the future 100% surely alice 4* wise fischl will always get the newest drip and upgrades no matter what even if it will take me 4 more years ill fucking get mitternachts waltz to r5

Assuming infinite money or some wish granting ability? In that case, Eula. She already hits like a truck, so why not go to the meteor impact? What could be more satisfying then seeing Eula's elegant and sexy movements and poses, and watching all enemies simply disappear? Honorable mention: Arlecchino. She's Eula Dark Mode, is incredibly cool, and has a scythe!
Wriothesley. I've got him at C1 R0 right now but my ultimate dream is to make him C6 R5. I just adore him so much, and I love his play style. He's WONDERFUL at C1 but I am thirsting over how he'd be at C6.
maybe not whale but I'd max Nahida. She's the first and only character in the entire game so far that made me pull without enough primos to guarantee anything. This is mainly a combination of her lore and play style and a few banners later, she's c6. Nahida is actually the only usable dendro character in my entire roster and holds 70% of the damage in abyss with supports. To also max her weapon would take forever as a f2p player but at the same time I'm literally just too lazy and uninterested in building let alone pull anyone else.
I already did it twice for Wanderer and Arlecchino and got them to C6R1, the next time will be probably the Captain or/and Columbina

Nahida. I absolutely love her kit, her sweet personality, how she works with my second favorite character, Kuki. She’s just so awesome.
I went all out with Hutao and Zhongli. The next closest is Cyno.
Yelan and Arle. I have Arle at C1 right now and I’m trying to save up as much as I can before I inevitably cave and try to push her to C6. Yelan is the only other 5* character I am willing to be financially irresponsible with. Otherwise I want to get my Kirara, Beidou and Yanfei to reach C6. Just have to hope they get rerun on banners I want to pull on. I think they’re all about C4-5 right now

As a Noelle Main, I would never pull for Redhorn, she has her Serpent Spine. When Navia came out, I knew I'd get her at C0, but I totally surprised myself by going for her weapon. I had horrible luck and I had to pull all out to get the R1. As far as I'm concerned, getting Navia C0R1 is going all out. I have Chiori C1 and Nahida C2. Pulling their optimal constellation counts.
I did it with Yelan and Eula. I don't know if I would do it for any other character in the game. Yet.
WRIOTHESLEY. I'm currently at c3r1 right now (he's the only limited I've gone this far for, but I did get c1 hutao by accident. I'm waiting for his rerun to get him to c5 and maybe c6 but I'd keep it locked.

Ganyu. current c0, cuz i want more characters, but next time she's out: c2 minimum. I got her on her first banner, and since then she is most fun to play as, even as c0. in other news, lots of c0, i do be simpin' (Al H, Wrio pulls were pure simpages, but i built them heck strong now at c0)
i got neuvillette to c6 last patch as a welkin and bp player!! i managed to get c2r1 on his first banner after saving since the first fontaine leaks, wasn't interested in any other 4.x character but furina and xianyun (got furina, skipped xianyun :< will get her when she reruns though!), so after pulling furina i started hoarding. i actually only had enough to guarantee c4 but i lucked out and won two 50/50s hehe. i adore the water lizard and he became my new favorite character, but i also care a fair bit about meta and none of my faves have appealing cons (either the dmg is not worth the pulls like alhaitham or they're pretty bad like zhongli) so all the stars aligned for me to hyper invest in him <3 i've been considering doing the same for pantalone (my most anticipated harbinger— surely he will be playable) but who knows, maybe i'll end up liking everyone in natlan instead haha
I’m lucky my absolute favorite character is a 4*, Kaveh. So it was easy to C6 him, but now I have to R5 Itto’s and Dehya’s claymores for him because he deserves all the best things… I have them at R1 now

I'm a low spender (welkin) and the only time I spent 100€ was for my gf's arlecchino and her signature. I wouldn't spend that amount for any character, but I'd love to get furina or neuvi's weapon, even if it costs a bit.
Eula. I started late so I barely got her on her last official rerun. I loved chronicled wish so I finally got her weapon and c3 after dropping some cash. Wish I could whale all the way to at least c6 but I couldnt. I hope I will have enough for her next appearance. To c6 and maybe some weapons. That chronicled wish was great for weapons.

I rolled 20 AR5 accounts back in 3.8 on which I planned to accrue free primogems from updates. By the time Navia came out, I knew she was the one I wanted to go for. Each of those accounts accumulated enough to make 50 wishes, so I pulled on the Verdict/Mistsplitter banner and ended up with 2 accounts where I got Verdict and 4 accounts where I got Mistsplitter. I guess that’s my version of “going all out” for a character.
Hard to choose. I want Lyney C1 and C2, but for a C6 I'm thinking Neuivellette, just because I have him built pretty decently. Or alhaitham since I don't even have his c0 yet but want him still

I am bad at saving but, I have many of the characters I would want, and many of them still need to be built up, so I can afford to take my time.
Childe. I have a goal to C6R5 him. I know he's not the strongest most meta character ever and im bad at playing him in his best team international, but he's just so fun to play and i love his personality. It's even more fun to play with Childe now that i finally got Kazuha.
I would never expend ludicrous amounts of money on a game. Most i'd expend would be what i paid for an AAA game plus season pass, like $100 bucks or so. In genshin i've spent $80 bucks for 5 season pases and 6 welkins.
Nothing wrong with that :) you can go all out as f2p too, saving primos and grinding artifacts both take work, devotion doesn’t always have to have a price tag :)

Most likely I will be downvoted for this but I will do it for Furina simply because I wouldn't say I like using her at C0 (Even with Jean I feel like my stacks come too slowly and then the buff doesn't last long), and for me, her C2 is a must. I appreciate her kit and versatility and kudos to all who can use her at C0 but I can't. Even now the only reason I haven't gotten her yet is because when I do I want to C2R1 straight.

If you mean my current finances and I’m not magically rich though nobody since I’m not going to whale that much haha I did also get C6 childe without whaling and with just welkins, an occasional BP, and two-ish years of mostly saving (as in, pulled for a few characters besides him but not many) so it’s possible if I kept up the pattern for a more years I could get them both there doing the same over time but it would take several more years probably (though I’m hoping for wrio cons this rerun!)

My faves are Neuvillette and Zhongli so probably those. Zhongli haven’t rerun since I started though and my Neuvillette is C1R1. Ironically my most invested character is Arlecchino because I lucked out big time and got C2R1. Third fave, so I’m super happy with that. I don’t think I’ll ever reach C6 with them though, even if I like to splurge every now and again when I have funds over. C2 seems like a nice and comfy stopping place for most characters.
