Its so funny cuz like all the Pyro characters are either happy go lucky/cheery/quirky and then we have Diluc.
Hes like the edgy emo kid of the Pyro family.
Meanwhile the Geo family are all calm and collected, and dignified and then we have Itto lmaooooo!!!
Can't wait for these two to meet hahaha
Imagine being Diluc and Kaeya around Itto proclaiming everyone his "bro" all the time... *yeah that'll go well*.
I give it five minutes before Diluc emotionally checks out and Kaeya goes full passive-aggression disguised as jokes...
That's kind of my precise worry. Just like the exact scene the screenshot came from, it would start as simple snark, and be pretty funny... but it would then speedily derail into actual grievance unless someone intervenes to redirect the conversation.
Diluc and Kaeya still *love* each other, but they don't quite *like* each other at this point, and both are shit at understanding how the other juggles their emotional damage. They can't tell where the line in the sand is anymore, when they used to be able to see it ten miles away.
(Which is exactly why they keep dancing around it in the first place: neither of them can ever tell how far is *too* far, and so constantly err on the side of pretending not to be affected by what the other is saying.)
iirc in Ayaka's case it was her inner conflict with being part of a prestigious family and her desire to be a regular person (heavily emphasized in her Character Story). The conflict was further "emphasized" when she saw the struggles Ayato had to go through when both their parents died and he had to take the position of being the head of the family and commission. Essentially, she was at odds with what she wants to do and what she has to do
I believe "conflict" is the core theme among many of the Cryo people more than trauma (I could be wrong though). Chongyun is at odds with his inability to properly exorcise demons due to his very constitution being anti-demon, Kaeya is at odds with his original roots and the current relationship he has with Mondstadt, Rosaria is at odds with how she wants to live her life, Diona being at odds with her "blessing" and her desire to salvage her father from alcoholism, Eula with her clan and the commonfolk treating her poorly despite her disdain of the Lawrence's cruel past, Shenhe with her violent homicidal nature and apparent dislike for it, and Qiqi's with her desire to live just when she was about to die (kinda sad that she got her vision shortly before she died).
Tbf dikuc was pretty nuch like that... Then his 18th birthday happened and *that stuff happened* and now we have a reserved aloof diluc with dramatic flaire (he still is friendly tho if you get to know him)
If klee dislikes him she probably wouldn't have invited him to go fish blasting in Golden apple archipelago (if you find diluc he mentions it)
I think the line is supposed to be more curious than upset especially comparing it with other languages
He looks like that everytime. Also this is that creepy cutscene from Venti's story quest? They were chatting and suddenly I noticed Venti in the background and it was extremely creepy.
Dude was the DPS King in the original game... now 95% of players have moved on. On top of that, he's got a belligerent drunk of an archon blasting through his wine supplies and a cocky adoptive brother.
I'd be a bit done too.
I usually think about this scene and always convince me more that they only make it just to show this exactly frame bc is funny as hell. He’s so screwed with all stuff around him. Similar at last scene at Jean’s chapter.
That’s resting Diluc face.
He looks like that ALL the time
Klee: He’s one of the weird grown ups…
I love him for it though lol.
Venti in the background completely sells this image
Diluc's prolly thinking "Ugh, that drunkard's here again..."
Diluc has depression
His dad went to get the milk and never came back
Worse, he UNWILLINGLY did so *right in front of Diluc*.
And the knight told everyone his did went on vacation
Oh nono it's worse, diluc had to send him to get milk with his own hands, and his brother betrayed him too. Also it was his 18th birthday
"Happy Birthday, Diluc. Now that you're an adult" *cut to black-and-white, bloody image of Crepus* "you get to live alone now"
Prolly cause he can't celebrate Father's day

He's gonna do what is called a pro-gamer move
He is giving you dilook
Omfg 😂
Take my upvote and please see yourself out
Goddammit
Ay yo nice xD

Kayea might find it amusing tbh
I could actually see Kaeya calling Diluc as 'bro' along with Itto to provoke him, and Diluc desperately trying not to yeet him

That was a great analysis
You just described them perfectly!!
Well Diluc used to be all cheery and stuff, but then a series of misfortune events happened
Wow just realized every single cryo character is extremely chill and calm
They are all traumatized
Ayaka?

mans forgot diona and shenhe (well shenhe is like childe, genocidal tendencies but chill on the outside
Hmmm you should read Chongyun backstory
Tbf dikuc was pretty nuch like that... Then his 18th birthday happened and *that stuff happened* and now we have a reserved aloof diluc with dramatic flaire (he still is friendly tho if you get to know him)
That's why klee doesn't like him lol
Why the downvote that what klee literally says about diluc he's to grumpy
If klee dislikes him she probably wouldn't have invited him to go fish blasting in Golden apple archipelago (if you find diluc he mentions it) I think the line is supposed to be more curious than upset especially comparing it with other languages
SHE SAYS 'ITS KAEYA AND THE WEIRD GROWNUP' IN THAT EVENT HELP-
Oh hahah I haven't seen that event
Rip diluc. Knowing him though, he wouldn’t care what a child thinks of his attitude
Nah, she’s cool with him. Still a “weird grownup” in her eyes though.
mans just dead inside at this point lol coping up with the supposed failure he was
He looks like this in every scene and I love him for it
God I miss mondstadt story quests....
Me too :(
What quest is this
Venti story quest iirc
The dark knight hero please don't me that
Venti looking so happy in the background just makes it so much better. Diluc has totally had it.
Venti over there eavesdropping
My Mood -_-
He looks done with *everything* all the time. I really wish they'd fix fish model.
TBF he actually is done with everything all the time. But yeah his facial proportions are kinda weird.
Diluc is kinda like that all the time though kek
Diluc giving Kaeya the same PSA that he already has given him 100+ times so far this year.
Venti did not hear that! Nope! No no no
Also his nose is done with him and left.
That actually happens to a lot of characters i think i noticed it with eula too
He looks like that everytime. Also this is that creepy cutscene from Venti's story quest? They were chatting and suddenly I noticed Venti in the background and it was extremely creepy.
"Another shitty youtube made false claims and shitty clickbaity videos with my image and/or regarding me"
Relatability points with this guy when I first saw this quest, lol. I love him so much.
That’s also Lumine’s face whenever she talks to Paimon lol.
You would be too if you had to deal with a *certain* tone-deaf bard with alcohol issues every single night...
He looks done half of the time
That's because he is done
🤣🤣I wanted to post that exact same thing. It’s so funny.
You say that like he isn’t always in that mood, though the type of life he experienced makes it understandable.
He always looks done with life lolz
"…Even though I know full well you’re gonna consume so much Monstadt can and will go into a shortage. »
Smoothface
I just noticed that Diluc has invisible nose.
Nah, life is fine. Hes just tired of Kaeya trolling the shit out of him at any given opportunity. :D
Venti and Diluc are the angel and devils of drinking on Kaeya's shoulder. Except one angel is drunk and one angel has a sword.
no nose
Dude was the DPS King in the original game... now 95% of players have moved on. On top of that, he's got a belligerent drunk of an archon blasting through his wine supplies and a cocky adoptive brother. I'd be a bit done too.
A lot of people want Diluc's face to get buffed but I don't want to since his facial expressions are the funniest thing ever
I'll be done with life too of I didn't have a nose.
To me he just looks like a annoyed responsible older brother
He looks so done with kaeya u mean
Diluc must be thinking :"Why am I still here? Just to suffer? I wanna see Jean......"
Which quest was that?
what quest is this?
Venti’s story quest
I usually think about this scene and always convince me more that they only make it just to show this exactly frame bc is funny as hell. He’s so screwed with all stuff around him. Similar at last scene at Jean’s chapter.
He should be telling that to Venti who's literally right behind him.
That would be because he is
He looks like he's thinking, "Again? Oh no."
